    Who does not want the filing of their taxes to be quick and painless? When tax season comes around…read moreevery year I want it to go smooth and easy. I don't want to have to stress or worry about anything. I mean, I'm not an accountant or CPA. This year I gathered up all my tax paperwork (I took my previous year tax filing for reference, I suggest that for you too). I drove to Pickerington for my first appointment at ABS (Analytical Business Solutions) with Brian Landenberger, CPA. The first person I encountered was Michelle. I believe she doubles not only as the receptionist, but also it seems everyone's right hand man. I filled out some preliminary paperwork while she let Brian know I had arrived. He greeted me with a handshake and a smile, punctually at our appointment time. I was lead back to a conference room where we basically discussed, like old friends, my previous year tax info and the life changes that had taken place in 2019. Brian made everything seem easy. He made me feel comfortable that he was going to do what was in my best interest. I completely trust him. When all decisions were made I headed home. The next day I received an e-mail from Michelle. She was quick to communicate and get me signed up on their client portal. Everything else for my 2019 tax filing is able to be done through that client portal. ABS, Michelle, and Brian made everything so easy. They gave me complete confidence in their work and they now have a new customer for life. If you don't mind driving out to Pickerington, or if you happen to live there, and you need someone to help you navigate the filing of your taxes, call ABS and make an appointment with Brian. Tell he and Michelle that I say hi.

After one of the years, we called back and tax person said he actually had handed return off to another individual but then remembered he had forgotten some things but would try and fix. Also said some tax perks not worth pursuing. Interesting. We owed both years, I reminded him asked about tax regs that I thought we would be eligible for. No real response accept, not worth it.Took our taxes to another firm, presented same info, didnt mention previous firm. Two years with new firm, two refunds. He said,, you are and were eligible for all you mentioned. Contacted previous firm's owners, received vague uninterested response.

    I got to meet with Jerry the company president as my accountant in early March. He literally forgot…read moreto do my paperwork for over a month. Once it was all ready to be paid and filed I was charged $100 more than quoted over the phone. But we paid without speaking up because we thought they were good. We thought wrong. I paid and my taxes were filed. I was owed a refund which I asked about when I paid them to file. I was told it would be looked into and I'd receive a callback. I never received a call. I had to keep hounding Jerry and calling back. Finally in the middle of June he got the paperwork together for my amendment because he messed up my state taxes. It's august and I'm still fighting with Rita Ohio for my state tax refund. This happened solely because Jerry messed up and dropped the ball. Save your time, save your money, go somewhere reliable. I called so they could hear my feedback. I told them I expected nothing to happen I just wanted them to know my feedback and that their mistakes have effects. I was told, "We're all human and we all make mistakes." This came in a very condescending tone. I'm not a child, she's not my mother or teacher. Yes we do all make mistakes. Some us more than others. I'm glad they're okay playing with other peoples money. I requested a call back from the president but don't anticipate on hearing back.

You can bank inside, in the privacy of a closet, or just push a button and you can do things yourself or request a live body and one of the employees faces pops up on the screen to help you. Unreal! It's very easy. Even I, Ms. Untechy, can do it. Sometimes I even surprise myself. If you need to ask for a loan, have a credit card issue or whatever, there are 1 or 2 friendly people at the front desk that are happy to assist you or refer you to an employee who can help you. If you have to wait, you are offered coffee & tea to enjoy while you wait, Everyone at Kemba is very friendly and interested in assisting you. No one yells at you or tries to intimidate you and they don't make you wait for several hours as they bypass you and help other customers. I dealt with this at a nearby bank and will never deal with them again. They lie and don't come through with promises of help. They say they will do something and they don't. One of the banks own employees referred to their bank as toxic and I would strongly agree with them. The name of that bank is Huntington Bank on Hill Road. The young lady that manages that bank is a joke! I've never been treated poorly at Kemba. Everyone is always ready to assist me whether I call or come inside the bank. Kemba also pays higher interest. Go Kemba!

    I've decided to close my account and move everything over to Kemba, as credit unions have better…read morerates for loans and interest. Also, I felt there's less up-selling here than my regular for-profit bank. This building was built brand new for Kemba, and everything is still new and clean inside. I like the seating area up front (you're not pushed to a cubby hole area off to the side). They have a nice coffee station (currently closed due to Covid). I really like having the ability for customers to video conference with a customer service agent in real time via a simple click on their indoor ATMs (this is also available at the drive-thru ATM). I spoke with Melissa while transferring my funds, and her helpful knowledge and explanations were fantastic. The good customer service I've receive here is much better than my previous bank.
