We had an amazing experience at Sidebar. A big shout out to Gabriel and Cassandra for their attention and customer service . We came from Miami and let me tell you, I was amazed to see a place like this in the Valley. read more

Absolutely unmatched in the valley! I didn't know what to expect but I beyond impressed. The vibe of the place is romantic and mysterious. There is thought and detail evidently placed in every crevice and corner of the place. The bar is GORGEOUS, it makes me feel like I'm in a trendy NYC nightclub, the drinks are fantastic, and the menu had lots of unique options. There's a sophisticated little loft area upstairs with some soft seating that i would enjoy sipping some drinks at on my next trip. The crab cakes and the French 75 were my highlights. I will 100% be coming back. Although the prices are steep, the cost is totally justified by the unique and - in my option - the nicest dinner experience in the RGV. read more

A very nice restaurant and speakeasy. The ambiance was superb and Thomas (bartender) made a fantastic smoked old fashioned. Live jazz that was not too loud which was fantastic as we wanted to have a nice discussion with our friends. We will be back several times and I truly recommend it as a place to go for a romantic or very nice dinner date for your loved ones. read more

I had a sidecar drink during my lunch hour and shhhhhhh. I had to eat something quick because I almost didn't want to go back to work after that. I wanted another side car.... :( So, next time, when I'm not busy working., I will enjoy my two sidecars. This place is phenomenal!!! read more

Excellent, stunning, different, incredible, pleasantly surprised, warm, inviting and that's just the beginning. I enjoyed a great dinner with my wife at Sidebar215 and it did not disappoint. From the moment you entered the space you were transported from the valley to a sophisticated era. After the history lesson it was time for dinner, the hostess was exceptional and the food was superb. Conversation with chef Jay was informative and pleasant. The Sidebar restaurant is more than a restaurant it's a experience. Looking forward to visiting them again soon!!! read more

Awesome ambiance. Very chill, high quality liquors and an amazing menu. Awesome spot!

While in Edinburg Tx found a diamond in the rough. Sidebar. A speakeasy, jazz bar and dinner venue with an amazing bar! The owner bought the building of the Daily Review newspaper and spent what looks like millions renovating the building! When I asked for a whiskey and coke, they wanted to know if I wanted to see the whiskey menu! Well of course I did!! Their chef is cordon-blue trained from Vegas! The food was amazing! The customer service was exceptional! If you get to Edinburgh this is a must experience place! read more

This a total date night, amazing place, historical Edinburg landmark, mind blown , amazing food, good drinks, the architecture and restorations transport you back in time , on point legit historical site. I got the smoked salmon capers on the teasers and I ordered the salmon filet both delicious. For fun ask for the tour for more on point historic info. read more

Too bad it was a little empty but I never mind, drink was excellent, vibe is nifty, a couple artists on display, drink was worth the price, well made. Didn't get to try the food kitchen was closed at 11. read more

After only waiting 10 minutes for a table on a Saturday night with a lovely hostess who was very conversational, we were taken to our table and given a history of the building and the area which as a local, I enjoyed very much. The music was lovely and relaxing. Our server was very sweet and visited us regularly but not too much. The drinks were amazing, I had a Jack Rose and my date had a Mary Pickford. The food was worth the price in my opinion, I had the crab cakes and my date had the veal meatloaf. We tasted each other's food and sides so I can say everything was amazing. There was lovely conversation all around, nobody at the bar was too rowdy or noisy. I'll be coming back very soon to one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. read more

This place is a hidden gem in the downtown Edinburg district. Loved the atmosphere and jazz music. Food and drinks were great too! Definitely recommend! read more

We went for our anniversary based on a recommendation. This is an experience! And a real hidden gem. We were greeted by Robert (owner) who gave us a tour and background on the history of the building - fascinating! Then he introduced us to Cassandra - our server - who continued with a tour and pointing out interesting artifacts. The meal was absolutely terrific! And the service was superb. They added a nice touch with a "Happy Anniversary" desert and Steve (bartender) also made us complementary cocktails. He is a real artist! They had a live Saxophonist (Friday evening). Robert also came by to check on us and added a couple complementary glasses of champagne. By the time we left, we felt like Robert, Casandra and Steve were friends. We also noted how the other servers were just as nice with great service to their guests. Definitely a great experience and this is now our go-to place. Highly recommend it! read more

The appetizers and the food here is pretty good. I'm always looking for new places and I like the ambience here as well as the vibe. They have good customer service and it's always nice to feel like you're somewhere different and that's the way this place makes you feel when you walk in. read more

The most amazing place I have seen in The Valley! Nothing like it! Food was superb! The chef is top notch! Live music was awesome! Drinks soooo good! But the best part was the decor and atmosphere! Lush. Rich. Unique. Exclusive. Artistic. Classic but modern. Best kept secret that I hope will grow to many years of success! Wow! read more

My husband and I have been coming here for a year. The food and drinks are always amazing. This has become our go to date night spot.

A beautiful establishment. The food is delicious. Every wine I've sampled is delicious and just for my palette . Presentation, attention to detail and courteous wait staff who are attentive but not bothersome. This is truly an experience for those who appreciate fine dining and elegance. read more

Awesome little gem in RGV. Feels like a bar/restaurant in NYC. Great bar, great food, great atmosphere, great service! A+++

The atmosphere, food, and drinks are just yop notch all the way around. The prices are high but its worth it and it really conveya that roaring 20's feel read more

First of all the ambience and decor is incredible. The service got off to a slow start but everyone was very friendly and helpful. The food selection is limited because they're just growing but the food was absolutely delicious. The drinks are very well crafted and extremely tasty. Honestly it would be a great place to go for drinks and dessert or drinks and an appetizer. I can't wait to see how this place grows and what it will bring to Edinburg. Happy hour would definitely be a good idea to bring more clientele to this super cool space. Can't wait to go back. read more

This is our favorite restaurant! The food, the place, and the service is excellent!! Ask for Cassandra, she is outstanding!!

The place was very lovely, as well as all the décor. Menu is small and there are no prices online. We each got 'The Filet' and it did not meet up to our expectations for $50/plate. My steak was dry and very tiny, did not look like 7oz. We went for a friend's birthday reservations and the also took an eternity to gives us our tickets. It was very inconvenient. However, the atmosphere was great but, for me this is more of a place to come and have a drink(s), enjoy a nice conversation with an appetizer. read more

Fabulous ambiance and food was very good! But, the live music made it very difficult to talk, which is a dealbreaker for us!

What a gem! Great food, tasty drinks, lovely ambience, live jazz music... what more do you need? The filet was cooked to perfection. We will be back! read more

My husband and I had a wonderful experience. Beautiful restaurant, wonderful ambiance, and friendly staff. We'll be back soon, a must visit in the Valley. read more

The ambiance and overall dining experience is off the charts! For that in itself I'd bump this to 5 stars. I understand the limited exclusivity of the menu, everything is delicious but I think adding at least 2 more menu items would benefit for those with expanded pallets read more

Didn't feel it was worth it for prices. Would love to see an earlier happy hour menu and a more welcoming vibe.

My husband and I don't get a chance to have date nights often but we were sooo surprised by this hidden gem! The atmosphere, the jazz and every detail is meticulously selected to create a wonderful night away! We started w the salmon nachos and they were amazing. Next, the crab cakes were the very best I have EVER had! And you must, I repeat you must, have a slice of their peanut butter pie! You may be full by the end of your dinner but you must make room for dessert! This is a great date night locale or just a place to hang out w some friends! Splurge. Go. And Be Merry. You won't regret it! read more

Had a great time last night! We usually don't take the time to post reviews however this little hostess stole us w her smile. Walking in, we were not sure what to expect. Rarely dine in Edinburg, but our neighbors had recommended this hidden spot, we had to try it. Hostess who greeted us was refreshingly nice & made our night. She even took time & gave us a small tour. . Cassandra made us feel welcomed, even though it was busy she managed to give us the best recommendations. Rare service now a days....We will definitely be returning and asking for her tip on which desserts & wine to try. Her choices didn't disappoint, bourbon bread pudding, delicious!!The dinner was ok, decent portions ,over seasoned, salty, but the desserts , ambiance and service made up for it. She made sure we had what we needed but not in an intrusive way. Remember us, we shall be back for that blueberry creme brûlée! read more
