I had never had a professional massage before but decided to give it a try after I strained my shoulder whilst training. I was able to move it more freely with less pain. I had no idea what a professional massage was like but after this experience I have been back many times. Last week went for a massage with a Korean lady called Hana (Hannah) and the massage was so rough and hard she had no idea on how to read a customer. The massage was so hard that I was moving and jumping that she did not even ask if I was ok or if it was too hard so the massage could be adjusted. I complained to the reception and all they could do is appologise. Even the extra service she became tired and complained her arms where getting sore and in the end gave up and said time is up. Then here's the catch, don't pay by card, they slap on a 10% surcharge. I wanted my comlaint to be escalated and all they said was they are sorry and accept the feedback and Jacob the manager would return a call to me. To this day almost a week after no return call. The massage itself was so hard that I ended up with buising for days. Avoid this business, they do not care about customer service, and it appears it's about money more than professionlism.

I purchased 2 x 1 hour long deep tissue massage vouchers for $200. My friend used the 1st voucher and they only massaged for 40 minutes. The 2nd voucher was a week out of date (because they failed to mention it was only valid for 6 months) and charged her after the lady on the phone said it was fine to use when i booked. They also make you pay in advance, which always makes me suspect. Why should I have to pay before receiving my service? This massage also was only done for 40 minutes. Absolutely disgraceful. Also they were talking thai to eachother the whole time and laughing. We've all been there. You know they're talking about you. Appalling customer service. No one there speaks fluent English. So if you need to ask questions. Don't bother. Well they appear to pick and chose when and what they understand. Plus they had no skill in the massage. She kept massaging my bones even after I told her where to do it. Save your money and sanity. GO ELSEWHERE. Shame on you Paradise Thai Massage. You've lost our business.

Once you climb the stairs they've really done a great job fitting the place out. The music, smells, decor etc is just like a nice massage place in Thailand. The massage itself the first few times was great, the masseuses were attentive, listened to exactly how I preferred my massages & tended to tight areas without instruction. However today was ok, not the best but passable. So why am I giving them two stars? It's the after service, when I came to pay the bill on previous occasions they always gave me a receipt to claim back the massage on my health fund but this time explained to me that health funds are becoming strict & only certain massage can be claimed. This wasn't the problem, it was more so how it was delivered to me, completely lacked any tack and being a regular customer I felt completely jilted. The experience made me feel cheap & I was fine with no receipt to claim back if that's the rules but the passive aggressive nature of the conversation just lost them a valued customer.

The thin and long store isn't the most fancy, just a basic set up, with 3 or 4 massage beds, and some quiet asian music set the scene. As my first massage experience in Australia on Oxford street of all places, it was pleasant and felt amazing! I'm sure to go back there, to make use of the coupon card they offered us for multiple visits. If you don't want 45 minutes, they offer half an hour, or an hour as well, roughly a dollar a minute. Unfortunately on Friday, I had a different masseuse. She asked me 3 times if I had been in there before. She stimulated my testosterone and I couldn't control myself. She then told me if I wanted a hand job, which costed an extra $50. I told her I have only $100 total, and $69 was already for the hours massage. She asked if I had a card to include in the payment, I said no. I then said to her " don't worry, next time ... " Five minutes later she she walked out of the room and spoke to another girl. She came back in and we settled an agreement with $100 total. I was excited ! Another girl came in, and started to give me a hand job. There was no enthusiasm in her service. I tried to self excite myself with her monotonous hand strokes. It hen asked her if I could touch her breasts. She replied " you have to pay extra, $50 for a hand job because I have to pay commission to the other girl (the masseuse) ". She was clearly unhappy and didn't want to give me a handjob. In the end I thought about something that made me explode. She wiped me a little and washed her hands and walked off. I won't ever be coming back here. There should never have been an agreement if she was unhappy about it in the first place. I could have gotten a happy ending at another place where it costs only $15 extra, and the service would be a happy and polite one. I don't need this kind of attitude. $50 is too expensive for a hand job. I am now looking for a place to get my weekly massages.

In fact, I feel as though I got two for the price of one - entertainment and a massage, for one low price. Following a recommendation from a colleague, a friend and I headed along to Sangs Thai Massage on Darling Street for an hour long massage. Told we could have 60 minutes for $60, filling those 60 minutes how we liked, we decided to fill our time slot with 30 minutes of back, neck & shoulder and 30 minutes of reflexology. When we walked through the jangling door of the shop, the staff abruptly ceased their conversation, staring blankly at us as we returned their blank looks, feeling as though we'd somehow ended up in the wrong place & were rudely interrupting. After a humorously long silence, we made our request, only to be interrupted midway through our sentence by the lady at the counter handing us their list of prices. Stuttering a little from the interruption, we asked again for what was recommended, despite it not being on the list. This was followed by extended conversation (in Thai) between four different staff members, during which my friend and I stood awkwardly at the door. After what seemed an extremely lengthy time, we received the nod and were both ushered into the same room and were told to strip down to the loose pants they handed us. From here on in, things got better. The massage was strong, performed by a mass of elbows and knees, my strong masseuse kneeling and walking over my back, legs and arms like a cat pawing at a couch. Whilst we ended up with full body massages as opposed to the back neck and shoulder we'd requested, the massage was firm and satisfying. Moved out to the front of the shop for the reflexology part of the massage, our feet were rubbed with tiger balm as we sipped on our tea and watched Deal or No Deal over the chattering of our masseuses. If you don't have a tv at home you can catch the news and get a massage at once at Sangs Thai. If this isn't a draw card for you, then the massage in itself is worth going for.
