Tiya's in Coogee offer 10 minute neck and shoulder massages for $10, which even though is obviously not as satisfying as an hour massage, it still is relaxing. 10 minutes is all you really need to take the edge off the tension. Firstly i will say i am a Remedial Masseur, i found this shop close too where i am staying, but as the location is on the main road, and close too a roundabout, and its a truck loading zone as 3 trucks stopped and parked in the 1 hour of my visit. Sunday is the perfect day for a massage. However, my masseuse, like most sane humans do not work on Sunday. Feeling a tad seedy from the night before and after a breakfast of everything you can manage, an afternoon massage is at the top of the list. Where to go, though? The little Thai places are a gamble in my book. Most times I have taken the chance I have been disappointed. This particular afternoon those memories evaded me because my intense need for a soothing hand on my body was overwhelming. Luckily, the place I stumbled into was the goods. The fact that we actually had to come back in a couple of hours meant that these were some sought after tables. Deservedly so. The masseuse I got was a lovely girl with very strong hands. When pressed to be firmer, she complied. The great thing is, the other masseuse was awesome as well, or so 'Lover' tells me, so there is no chance of getting a dud. We had the choice of a 'Thai' massage or 'Oil' massage, we got the latter. A little bit more expensive ($50 for 30mins as opposed to $35) but we needed the hydration and it makes for a smoother massage. Sometimes the Thai can be a bit rough.
