Just wandering around while friends were still asleep, exploring a bit, and it ended up being one of the best random stops I've made. Best dollar I've probably spent in Vegas was on that hot dog. No joke. Simple, quick, and it hit exactly the way it needed to. Sometimes that's all you want. This place isn't fancy at all, and that's exactly why it works. It's a break from the Strip. No pressure, no over the top pricing, just a real, old school Vegas feel. You walk in and it's got character. You can tell it's been around and has history behind it. We walked in on Sunday to have a beer while we watched the 49er's beat the Eagles. This is a no food, only drinks kinda place, however, they allowed us to bring in outside food just during the game... which we really appreciated since we hadn't eaten much. With our server, we ordered a Spacedust and Stella from draft. As much as I enjoyed the country music while I was in the bar and even in passing (and I really enjoyed his voice, especially with the 90's country songs he was covering), I would rather have heard the game. The sound for the game was on when we walked in and when half time hit, I didn't mind that he was singing, but then when the game started, he continued singing and almost never stopped. The rest of the staff seemed pretty laid back. I ended up leaving before the end of the game and then stopped back by to watch them win.... while this country singer with a wonderful voice was still singing I wish I got his name because he was really good! Every drink I've had here has been great. I love to taste a variety of whiskies. If you order the Irish coffee, note it is served with hot coffee if that if your thing. They have happy hour (half off certain appetizers) every day of the week between 3-6pm. All of the food has been good. I have tried several dishes now. The Irish breakfast is very good. It is a decent size, you can share it with someone. It is pretty authentic. Looking to try blood pudding? No need to travel across the ocean, this pub has it and it tastes good (I travel to Ireland often). The homemade potato soup is quite tasty if you're looking for something warm.
