From my initial consultation with John, I knew I was in the right law office. This was further confirmed throughout the following 8+ months of stellar legal representation provided by Conner. Conner consistently responded to questions and requests in a timely manner, providing explanations and expert counsel when needed! He would often call to discuss issues rather than send a lengthy email (which I appreciated!). Conner and staff were persistent in moving the legal process forward to ensure deadlines were met or exceeded, even when opposing counsel did not! While going through a contentious divorce is difficult and expensive, Conner's calm caring nature while providing expert professional counsel and service was exactly what I needed to get through this challenging chapter in my life! I am forever grateful for Haugen Law Firm's representation!

If you value resolute professionalism and unwavering integrity, this is your law firm. As a 33 year military veteran, I presented with an extremely challenging and seemingly hopeless divorce case. From initial intake to case adjudication, they treated me like a family member and expertly guided me through each step of the process. The office staff (Maggie & Delaney) were incredibly kind and proficient. Haugen Law Firm is well beyond 5 Stars in every respect!

My opinion (for a divorce case), based on my personal experience. Although I did not hire this…read moreattorney, I had to "work" with her because that's who my "ex" hired for their representation. My main complaint is that this attorney did not notify me that my "ex" had filed for divorce, until OVER a month AFTER they filed a divorce petition with the court. I, (for some reason), was only sent an email notification of the divorce filing, instead of at least receiving a call or certified letter. Most would think (the attorney) could pay... or at least ask my "ex" to pay a few bucks to send me a notification by certified letter. (It's also sad that my "ex" didn't communicate to me that they were filing.) This happened while I was still holding out for a miracle of possible reconciliation, and I had even visited my "ex" in person at least once after the filing. (And wasn't made aware at that time either.) I'm sure this attorney was thinking that my "ex" would've mentioned the filing to me, since my "ex" portrayed to the attorney that we were in occasional contact both in person and via phone/text. However- those possible assumptions still don't excuse this attorney from notifying me in a more timely manner and by U.S. Mail and NOT email! This unnecessary delay of notification is costing my "ex" thousands of dollars in additional mortgage interest, since (my "ex") has/had to end up refinancing the family home (at a higher interest rate than those earlier in the year), in order to pay me an agreed upon amount of the home's equity. If I had been notified sooner by this attorney or my spouse, I would've gotten an attorney sooner, which most likely would've finalized things quicker, which would've allowed my "ex" to get a lower mortgage interest rate. (My research is that mortgage rates rose around 1% or so in the months following the filing.) If the amount of time spent between the actual divorce filing, and the time I was finally notified is not considered negligent by the Texas State Bar Association, I'd be extremely shocked. I certainly think it goes against most folks' common sense and common courtesy. (Especially since my spouse and I were on amicable terms.) I think my "ex" hired this attorney from a referral, and/or perhaps because they charge flat fees, or nominal fees for a (somewhat) uncontested divorce. Going with what may be at the outset, the lower priced option, will cost my "ex" more financially and maybe emotionally more in the long run. It makes me sick to my stomach and very mad, since I do care what happens to my "ex," despite what others say I should feel or think. Lastly, the wording in the original divorce filing/decree contained errors that "my" attorney had to correct. If I hadn't hired a competent lawyer who found the errors, my "ex" would be at more of a disadvantage with the original paperwork drafted by this attorney. It is possible that this attorney is more competent with other areas of law, and/or maybe she just goofed (majorly) this time, but I certainly wouldn't recommend her. Sadly, my "ex" still blames me somehow, for the alleged mistakes from this attorney. That alone says quite a bit about my whole situation! I do appreciate this attorney visiting with me on the phone for a few minutes, to explain a couple of things to me. It's a truly sad situation all around in more ways than one. My advice: Be nice to your spouse and try to meet them in the middle, because divorce stinks! It's (almost) never just one person's fault that a marriage has failed or is failing. We can all improve, and I thought everyone agreed with that, but sadly, I found out the hard way that some people think they never make mistakes in their marriage. (Or they blame the other spouse for reacting or acting the way they do/did.) Take care!

After meeting her she directed me on the correct path and was very assertive to all my needs. I also loved that she has a calm and caring personality. My situation became a lot easier and I achieve my outcome. Thank you so much.

Just a letter in the mail with the increase, When our income had not changed. We were provided with bankruptcy paperwork on a client of yours, not even our paperwork. You provided us with personal information on their bankruptcy case their first and last name they're mailing address. You also filed a debt from one of your other clients under our bankruptcy case and had to get that fixed when WE pointed out that was someone elses debt. AND you admitted you accidentally inputted someone elses debt into our filing! You guys do not provide us with any regular updates on our case. The only time you contact us is if you need documents because the trustee or the courts are requiring it. You do not provide us with any updates or information if anything changes to our bankruptcy case. We were told by your paralegal after our filings and had questions, that we should have been well informed how bankruptcy works before filing something like this and we should probably go on Reddit and read how bankruptcy works because it is not your guys's job nor fault for the questions that we have. I was told back in March 2026 when speaking to the attorney (or so she said she was an attorney) regarding my huge increase in our mortgage that we should probably seek getting a second job or looking for a promotion in order to be able to pay for our bankruptcy and these increased bills/increased cost of living, instead of working with us on how to figure out how we can adjust our repayment plan with the cost of living going up and our mortgage. These are just a few things we have gone through with this firm in less than 8 months. And to think to allow this for the next 3-5 years? I want to cry. The Texas Bar and BBB will need to be more involved with how this firm handles their clients privacy, paperwork, and ethical conduct...
