Shurgard Ruislip is looking increasingly down-at-heel and unloved. The gate is damaged and has been in the same state for several weeks. What is really inconvenient is that many of the chains that join the trolleys when they are returned to the trolley park are broken. So trolleys are left all over the place by customers and, worst of all, it is quite common to put a pound coin into a trolley to release it but then be unable to get the pound back because there is no trolley with a functioning chain when you return it to the trolley park. Shurgard seem very happy to take my money each month but can't be bothered to spend the time and money necessary to maintain the site in general and the trolleys in particular. Not surprising, really, that lack of security at this branch featured on BBC Watchdog a few years back. (Note to the Shurgard manager to whom I spoke today: I will be very happy to report back on Yelp - and give you four or five stars - if and when you do what you promised today and sort out the damaged trolleys.) read more
