I didn't feel like I needed an attorney in the beginning, however, it was the first thing. My doctor asked me when I went for evaluation and treatment. That is when Shulman and Hill called me. At this point, I'm afraid I'm not sure I made the right decision. I have felt that way for a while. Each call I am told something different and it's disheartening. When I asked for clarification, I am talked down to. It's like we don't understand one another or someone is trying to pull the wall over my eyes. I've thought about getting another attorney, however, I don't understand the full process and I could be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. I hired this firm for my workers comp case. They are unorganized, never return calls and they can text you through their portal but won't answer your reply. I just received my settlement which is the incorrect amount that the judge awarded me after deduction. I left numerous messages and as of today June 20th, 2025 no one has returned my calls since Tuesday. After being told by there security that she will send a 3rd message and she was able to view my messages that I left from Tuesday and still Mr. Evans, Seriy or Nelly have yet return my calls. I hired this firm for my workers compensation claim after being rear-ended twice on the interstate. They are very unorganized. It takes them weeks to get back to you. They send a different attorney that knows nothing about your caseto each hearing. They lie to you and tell you details about an settlement, and you don't find out They lied till after the case has settled when you find out the term differ from what you agreed too. Then after all that they lie more and say they never said or did such things. If you need an attorney I would highly recommend looking for a smaller firm that actually cares about their customers. Shulman and Hill is a terrible law firm. I have endured great hardship because of their disregard, incompetence, and hostile negligence. The lawyers only reached out to me 30 minutes before my court hearing and did not brief me in any way, or even talk to me about what kind of activities I could do to receive benefits. This was the case multiple times, leaving me in a desperate situation for months and months. The Lawyers do not prepare you for key events in your workman's comp case and do not return your calls. In my last court appearance, I was honest and told the court that I had volunteered at an artist-run gallery ONCE. My work included opening the door, turning on the lights, and sitting at a desk for a few hours. I did nothing and didn't get paid for it, and only did this for one weekend to help the community of artists. I told this to the court and the insurance lawyer said this was "work activity, and showed work capacity". The judge then cut my benefits in half. You cannot get in touch with a lawyer at Shulman and Hill easily, and the Paralegals are unresponsive and unprofessional. They do not know or care about you and respond to your concerns about health, and finances with hostile disregard. We have a baby at home, and our income is dangerously low. When I fired Shulman and Hill for their repeated incompetence, I received a threatening muscle call. I would never recommend this law firm to anyone. Shulman and Hill is the absolute worst law firm on earth. They do the bare minimum to help working people. You are a checked box at Shulman and Hill. This is by far the worst treatment I have ever had dealing with a Laywer you can never get who you want on the phone when I made complaints before about them calling me on a Monday to come in on Friday to fill out paperwork I could have signed on Monday this happened multiple times and then they say they trying to get things done as soon as possible when I asked the manager there he got upset and got into a screaming match with me on the phone the other girl that I had to deal with literally knows nothing couldn't answer one question the person in the settlement department hasn't responded in over a week yet they had the money weeks ago and her response to me was they had to make sure the check was real and the funds was available that don't take no 3 weeks and I didn't know insurance companies send fake checks now I have 2 cases with them I'm trying to switch my other one and the Laywer's say they can't get nobody on the phone they told me over there multiple times that they are overwhelmed at times and very busy this comes from the manager mouth this shouldn't even been a issue it's going on 4 years this case should be over and done with if everything was done in a timely fashion. read more

I had the very same experience as everyone else. Both lawyers are crooks, lazy and ignorant. They work for the Insurance Company and not for the client. I also had to prepare myself all the documents, contact my Doctors to filled out the C3 forms since they never did any of this. When I asked to see my folder after 2 years of not moving forward with my case they give me cheap excuses and never showed me the folder, then I was able to find that they never exchange any communications with my Doctor's, Shulman(who is desperate for every penny) requested hearings without consulting with me and due to his negligence and due to the fact that HE ABANDONED ME IN A HEARING I almost loose all of my benefits. Hill on the other hand lies to your face over and over and he is never aware of your case and what is part of your case. This is a terrible law firm, stay away from this place. The doctors they use are fraudulent, I was assigned a workers comp doctor by the firm. The doctors office was old inside, the physical therapy equipment which was just one machine for the back was old and outdated. The doctor was offering Botox services at appointments. The doctor was eventually kicked off the workers comp board, I had to start seeing another doctor which delayed my case. I went to court for the scheduled loss of use, the judge went with the doctors findings and percentage, months before the hearing I informed them of concurrent employment and sent over the documents however we are waiting on another hearing to discuss the concurrent employment In which they should've done at the first hearing. It's been 7 months since the first hearing. They do not return phone calls or emails. They lie about everything because I get different information from the insurance company. I had several different paralegals who are never in the office. I've had to personally call Mr. Shulman just to get updates on the case. I guess it will take them another 2 years while blaming the board and the insurance company. Stay far away from them not too mention they don't handle none of the C3 paperwork in the beginning, I did all the footwork by making sure the doctor's signed forms. read more

In my opinion, the worker Pavel who was assigned to me was cold, dismissive, and I felt he was racist. I would call him and he would not return my calls, from the day I walked into the office I felt uneasy with him. The lawyer that was assigned to me tara was not very helpful either. They faxed over forms for my doctor to fill out and fax back but my doctor never filled out the forms, instead of contacting me they just took me to court and the judge assigned me only a portion of the workers comp money, as opposed to the entire comp amount. They were not helpful to me, I was the one who was running around getting everything I needed. They were not very good with my case. I would not recommend them to anyone. I was referred to Shulman & Hill because I was told that they do great work. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I had to obtain all of my information such as my case number, speak with the insurance company, and arrange everything pertaining to my case. Carly was extremely unprofessional as well as rude. The front desk staff are rude and dismissive (seems to be the culture of this office). Carly never knew the status of my case and refused to take my phone calls as well as never responded to the messages that I left. This went on for nearly months. When I finally decided to speak with an attorney, I was told that they were out to lunch an in a Trial. They must STILL be out to lunch and/or in Trial as no one has ever returned my calls and this was over two weeks ago. I have since retained another attorney and Shulman & Hill has not even reached out to apologize or ask what happened.
