Today was my first appointment with Dr. Johnson and I couldn't have been happier! When I go to the…read moredoctor, the most important thing for me is that they seem to genuinely care about me and my health situation, and that they listen to me. Dr. Johnson exceeded my expectations by a wide margin! I was so very impressed with how attentive she was and the questions she asked to thoroughly investigate my issue. I could recognize a genuine concern for my well-being and she took plenty of time with me to make sure she hadn't overlooked anything. When she started suggesting solutions I was blown away by the direction she took, because she was thinking outside the box and is so up to date on the latest medical trends. Overall, she made this first visit a pleasure and I feel very confident that I can always trust her to provide me with the best of care, yet with the personal touch that so many doctors are missing these days. Thank you, Dr. Johnson! You're awesome!

My mother recommended him to me and couldn't quit raving how wonderful he was, boasting that there are people who drive from other towns just to be treated by him. After I met him I could see why. He actually listens to what you have to say, and makes the interaction with him pleasant and welcoming. After so many doctors being curt, rude or just plain dismissive, this was a revelation to me. He's also thorough, but doesn't put you through a litany of expensive tests you may not need. I've been suffering with back trouble for years and he was the first one to tell me I have bone spurs on the spine - some doctors wouldn't even *talk* to me without my having an MRI first. He works with you to find solutions that best fit your circumstances, and restored my faith in doctors. Possibly my favorite (and most trusted) physician ever.

He is as close to that "Olde Country Doctor" as you're going to find! Would definitely recommend to all friends and family!

We…read moreBEGGED him to order an MRI (you cannot get an MRI in Abilene unless a Dr. orders one) he LITERALLY WOULD NOT ORDER an MRI for my mother! He was her primary care physician for gosh sakes. She went to rehab for two weeks all the while he was prescribing medication for her, but NO MRI. When she left rehab, she went to her lung doctor and told her the story. Her lung doctor could not believe he hadn't ordered an MRI yet. She ordered it and received the results...her FEMUR WAS BROKEN!! It has now healed incorrectly and she needs surgery to fix it, however, she cannot have surgery because of her health. She was bed ridden for a year thanks to this idiot. Going forward, she was scheduled to see a new doctor for two weeks, the morning of her appointment she was told she cannot see this new doctor because Dr. GAO has black listed her. If you value your health and your LIFE, I would NEVER see Dr. GAO. WOULD'T GIVE HIM ANY STARS, BUT ZERO STARS IT IS NOT AN OPTION.
