This place is VERY GOOD for Mexico. Believe me. I'm a Japanese & Sushi connoisseur and I have had…read moreall sorts (the "real deal" as well as "fusion") all around the world. Mexico is unfortunately notorious for having the worst "sushi" or "Japanese" food, lol. In general, they have no idea how to make it... ! But this place had some of the best fusion rolls I have had. Also, very fresh sushi/fish/seafood. I did NOT do the fire-thing which so many people decide to do, which of course is always a bad decision. If you WANT to go to Benihana, then go there! LOL. Only criticism is the tempura was served lukewarm and soggy. Note: I was with a party of 10 people, and we ordered a TON of dishes to share around the table. As such, I got a really good perspective on their food, service, etc. Service was awesome for us. Only other negative (but this does NOT affect the rating) were all the entitled people dining there from Mexico City, lol. And I thought that SoCal people were spoiled and entitled! Somehow this place seems to attract similar from Mexico City, LOL. I would come back here in a heartbeat. YES, it is pricey, but I don't care about that. I care about the quality of food, the service, etc. One star dinged because some of the rolls were very "similar" in that they were too sweet with the same eel sauce on them, and the tempura was soggy/lukewarm. I've gone to plenty of so-called Asian or "sushi" places in Mexico, (including very high-end ons), and this one is the best, so far.

A great restraunt to eat in. It's so delicious but with Covid it's not open but I think they…read moredeliver. The food is so good but grease

We make it a family tradition to eat sushi in every city we visit. Being in Polanco, Mexico City's…read moretrendiest neighborhood, we assumed we were about to experience sushi greatness. To be fair--the quality of the fish was five stars. No complaints lthere.Unfortunately, that's where the smooth horse ride became a donkey ride. The service was a solid two stars. Our waiter was clearly trying his best, but this restaurant desperately needs another waiter. We waited so long for sauces that by the time they arrived, we were already halfway through the rolls. It took about 20 minutes for the first dish, and we ordered what we normally order for my wife and I and our 3 teenagers six dishes for five, which then arrived one... at a... time... with long, awkward pauses in between. The specialty rolls are teenie Weenie and very skimpy on the fish. One of my sons wanted another roll but not willing to wait. Best roll of the night was the Alaska roll--credit where credit is due. Now let's talk money. I don't mind spending on good sushi. I expect to. But $3,950 pesos ($232 USD before tip) for five people and leaving less full than a typical sushi night in Los Angeles? That one hurt. Back home, we eat for the same price--and we leave satisfied. Upside: only three green teas were ordered, but they were excellent, high-quality, and probably the most consistent thing all night. Bottom line: amazing fish, painfully slow service, small portions, and a bill that made us double-check the exchange rate. If you come here, drink a full glass of water beforehand to feel satiated--or bring a snack. I wanted to give them a three but I always do with my wife wants and she said give them a four to be nice.

The best Japanese restaurant in all of CDMX and that's saying something! All the dishes we ordered:…read moresushi, temaki, kushiage etc all came out perfectly. You can tell all the ingredients - all the way down to the rice - is of v. high quality. My only gripe with this place is that they allow smoking within the enclosed indoor/garden area so we were exposed to second hand smoke throughout the meal :(
