I would have given it 0 stars if possible but I do not have the option here. It is shocking to visit a grocery store in USA which sells international groceries, specifically Indian grocery and you experience racially biased comments from an employee of the store, you may ask what's the issue. lemme explain what happened. I have shopped from here countless times just because I liked this grocery store very much. Last week I brought a packet of Basmati Rice , I will add a picture of it with description below. When my mother was trying to cook this rice we found stones in the same and the quality of rice is no where close to what we term as Basmati. This morning I went to the store to shop for more items but I forgot to get the rice , its picture or details and as a good Samaritan, I just explained to the female employee of the store what happened. To this she says" what can I do about it " in a very rude and disrespectful manner. So , I asked can you please give me the contact of the owner so that I can talk to him. Her response "You will not get his contact" . Then I was like "could you please be a little less disrespectful to your customers" . Her response "We are respectful only towards our GUJRATI customers" . That is when I revealed that I am Gujrati myself, which kind of shocked her. I even know Mr. Devendra Patel who is the owner of this store but I have lost his number from my phone. Mr. Patel if you are reading this. Please do leave a comment below, I would like you to address to this matter. I think we have done enough business together and the least that we expect from Shree G store which plays devotional music 24/7 is to treat their customers with some respect no matter what color, race, cast, creed, nationality or language they belong to. This is the worst case of racism that I am putting forward here. I highly suggest look into the matter before there are more unhappy customers and you start losing the business which is already on a downfall. I really want you to understand the pain that we had to go through even thou I have been a loyalty card holder, member of the store and have provided enough of my hard earned money to it. Nice grocery store. It has all the staples you need. Produce section is decent (which is what I'm always looking for when I shop at a store like this.) I will say that it's SMALL, SMALL, SMALL. But I am very used to shopping in a small Indian grocery store back in PA, too--so I found it oddly comforting. I do like this store better than all the other Indian grocery stores in Bergen county because it's one stop shopping for me. The other two that I frequent are just for niche items that are hard to get anywhere else (the one in Teaneck I like because they have homemade Kerala banana chips and vada but I don't usually buy groceries there). So I finally got to check out this shop today and they have a real nice selection of stuff. There are some Asian but no Indian markets near me so now I don't have to drive somewhere like Edison to get a special ingredient. They advertise as Indo-Asian grocer which is lacking in my area. They have a frozen section, fresh produce (including fresh turmeric which is hard to come by in my parts), a plethora of spices/seasonings, imported snacks, and huge bags of rice and beans just to name a few items they carry. Everything is fairly priced and inexpensive depending on what you get. This place isn't super huge and if it was in a town like Edison where the market is saturated with Indian shops and restaurants I would give it four stars. But since they capitalized on a viable market of Indian groceries that is somewhat nonexistent in Bergen County, I am giving them 5 stars. Some places are all about location and in a town like Lodi which is predominately Italian, it's good to mix it up a bit when Italian eats feel like they are getting stale. Will be my go to place for picking up out of the ordinary ingredients to make nice stir fries and whatever other recipes come my way! read more

I bought golden temple atta from this place and found worms in it. I had to took uber to the store as I dont own a car and asked the assistant there for refund and apologise for my time and money wastage.In return that guy who could not even communicate properly told me that if you took aeroplane on your way back that does not mean I am going to pay for it.This was not the first bad experience.Mid january I bought a peanut gachak from this place and it was not at all edible.I told this person that I am going to complaint to health department and he replied "DO WHATEVER YOU WANT".This is the customer satisfaction policy of this disgusting store.the people who work here are even more disgusting.Never go to this place again. read more

Visited the store for the first time today. Pros: The store is convenient for people in Bergen county to get some Indian grocery items. There is ample parking. Very clean and well organized display of items. All the basic Indian grocery items are available. Cons: The produce weren't fresh when we went on a Monday. Shree G Geocers is my favorite market for all foods Indian. They have everything from frozen organic vegetables to over twenty brands of rice. The market is spotless. This is a newly opened Indian grocery store. Plenty of parking is available unlike other Indian stores in Jersey City or Edison. The staff will keep this place very clean. They have Indian vegetables as well. I like their pani puri packets which are kept at the display. read more
