I had a one time shred for 50 bankers boxes scheduled for Oct 16, 2024. I called customer service at 8:00am to see if I could get an estimated time the drivers would be meeting me at my storage unit to pick up the boxes. I was planning to have everything at the loading dock to make it as easy as possible for them. Customer Service said they spoke to the local office but couldn't confirm a time of pickup but I was on the schedule for the day. I waited around all day at my storage unit and nobody ever showed up. I called at 4:30pm and customer service told me they changed my pickup date to October 31. Nobody informed me of this or bothered to call or email.i wasted entire day sitting at my storage unit waiting for them to come. I have never had issues with them before but this is just unacceptable. I will never use them again. read more

I'm not sure I can accurately describe in words how horrendous this company is to deal with. Not showing up, telling us what our business hours are, random reps claiming to be managers, making up new stories as they go along. just save yourself the hassle and buy an office shredder unless you really need to shred large amounts of confidential documents. for larger jobs just find another company other than these clowns or iron mountain. Both are the pinnacle of stupidity. Maybe the reason the Trump administration was burning documents in the White House chimney was because this was their vendor and they had no other choice. read more

I will never use this company again. They are very deceptive in there sales pitch. When I got my bill there were additional charges and the price was different. I was told the first 10 boxes were free(NOT). One of the men they sent was not happy we had so many boxes, he said they sent him with one of the smaller trucks, so it took him longer. Not my fault! If you want your records and personal securely shredded you might want to look elsewhere. They send a truck to pick up all your files and then just drive away. They don't shred them there, like our old company did. How do you know where they take them! Or if they shred them? These files contain bank account numbers, names, addresses and social security numbers of our customers! I certainly wouldn't call that secure!! read more

Run Away! they never show up, they tell you that you have an appointment, then on the date of service when you call them (because they NEVER call you) they tell you , you never had an appointment. they come on the wrong day multiple times then never show up on they they there supposed to. We have never had a problem with shred-it until a couple of months ago and since then they treat customers like crap. It has been over a week since I notified them about an error they made. I have called 3 times and have been told someone would get back to us within 24/48 hours. Nobody calls back. The supervisor I spoke with today (was extremely helpful and apologetic but basically told me she can't get any answers from our local branch either) told me that her supervisor would call me in 30 minutes. That was well over an hour ago and still no call. They have become such an unprofessional company. Thankfully we do have other options in my area that we will be reaching out to. read more

Horrible. I've spent so much time on hold waiting to speak to someone repeated times to get something resolved. I've left messages for our local rep who only emails, never calls to confirm we are all set. I've been left on hold for very long periods of time. I speak to someone and explain the situation only to have to explain again because they don't seem to know what's going on or their record keeping is not accurate. It's taken months to get an extra bin picked up after having to call and send multiple emails to both east coast and west coast locations. Way more time on something that should have only take me ten minutes to resolve. Very frustrating to say the least. read more

we own a business in lancaster, ma. i contacted shred-it to set up a time to have 75-100 banker boxes full of paperwork shredded. they said they would be there wednesday, july 10th at 10:00 am, not there,called them, said they would be there at 1 pm not there, called again they said the driver called in sick and they have no other drivers. re-scheduled for thursday, july 11th, no show until 3 pm, they brought 4 - 64 gallon containers, which would hold about 12 banker boxes, not 75-100. totally unprofessional would never recommend them to anyone, worse customer service. they compared themselves to the cable company, come on, we all know the reputation of the cable companies (bad)!! if i could give them no stars i would. read more

I recently attended a "Shred Event" at the Shredit offices in Woburn. I had 6 shopping bags full of old bank statements, financial statements, cancelled checks, you name it. Shredit had a big truck out from and after paying a very reasonable fee they took my bags while I watched and dumped them into a massive shredder. My son thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. The guy ahead of me had 16 boxes of sensitive documents and they shredded those in 5 minutes. I would have probably burned through several personal shredders are lost numerous weekends doing this myself. THIS IS A GREAT SERVICE. read more

Awful. Since they merged with our previous shred company, I've had to call them several times a day every week for our weekly service. This is unacceptable. The previous company they took over were never late. Ever. I've been at my corporation for 11 years, and never have seen this level of unprofessionalism before. Pulled alongside truck into their lot for a "Shred Event", was greeted by operator who instructed one of us to "go insideoffice and pay" ($15/box). The apparatus is "Most Impressive". Convenient, fast & inexpensive resolution to document disposal. Friendly office staff as well. read more

Lousy lousy customer service. I had spoken with someone from the office a week or two earlier and she gave me two options: come to the office on Sat. 15th of Nov. at 10:30 to shred it or call to have a truck come to me (which was a bit higher). I drove all the way down from Lowell when I really need to be in Manchester NH that day, and waited waited waited, rang the door bell, went around the back.... (several times) and finally left after 11:20. Waste waste waste.... and no one has called me back after I left them a message. read more

One of the worse customer service experience that I ever had to deal with. Our company wants to cancel their service and I have been dealing with multiple phone calls for 8 days and the one person who can cancel accounts can not call me back and get this settled. I don't understand how a company can only have 1 person that handles the closes of accounts. I have documented every time I have called to try and get their account manager to close the account. Awful standards of customer service. They should be ashamed of themselves. I didn't even want to give them 1 star, it should be zero stars read more

Shred-It took over our contract with Cintas and has been awful. They have repeatedly made promises they did not fulfill. We have a contract for ON-SITE shredding yet they insist on sending trucks to pick up the information to try and take it back to their warehouse and destroy it. We have called repeatedly to no avail, despite numerous hollow promises. I would not recommend them to anyone! read more
