Showtime DJ & Entertainment (Telepharaoh Brandon) was our Master of Ceremony at our destination wedding at Ko'olau Ballrooms in O'ahu, HI. My now-husband and I were looking for a vibrant MC/Entertainment, and sure enough, our wedding planner recommended Showtime DJ & Entertainment (Telepharaoh Brandon)! We were not disappointed!! Up to this day, all of our wedding guests who came from all over the world to O'ahu for our wedding tells us that our wedding/reception was the most magical and best wedding experience that they've ever attended! This review is a long time coming since I got married on June 30th. But, better late than never! So I first heard of Showtime DJs through the florist we were looking to hire. Even though we didn't book that florist, he did lead us to Showtime DJs and for that we are very grateful. The Meeting: When we first met Teley, my husband and I knew instantly that he would be an awesome entertainer and DJ. His lively personality matched well with what we wanted for our wedding. He showed us a very impressive video about his company. I wanted to book him right then and there during our meeting, but my husband told me to wait and check out other DJs first. So I waited like a day...and then I booked him!!! It costs a little extra to have Teley as your DJ, but I thought that it was well worth it. Everything went smoothly during the planning phase. A few months before the wedding, Teley told us that he was double-booked for our wedding date for another wedding. His assistant (who he fired right after this incident) had made a very big mistake. Of course I was disappointed, so we met him right away to clear things up. He was VERY apologetic about the mishap and made sure we were compensated. He threw in some freebies for us and also refunded the extra money we paid for having him as our DJ. Phil ended up being our DJ instead and we absolutely LOVED him. He was AWESOME!! As an "anal" bride, I already wrote my timeline and song choices the first month I was engaged. So all I did was give Phil our papers and he was good to go. The Wedding Day: Everything went so smoothly with Phil as our DJ. He got our guests fully involved in dancing at the end of the wedding...which was amazing to see. Our elderly aunts and uncles were dancing the night away! Phil even did a flip on the dance floor which amazed all of our friends! Everyone was commenting on how awesome our DJ was! The best part of the night was the song he chose to play at the end of our wedding. I had a bunch of slow songs listed, but he chose the wedding song of my brother and sister-in-law who were my MC's. I will always remember this moment because I got to see the joy that was brought to my family. Overall, Phil was amazing and we could not have asked for a more perfect DJ. He livened the entire wedding night up and we were not disappointed. Hey I don't know what all these people complaining about. But Teley is A-W-E AWESOME!!! I never got the chance to meet him in person but he really did bring out the fun in people and definitely got everyone dancing on their feet. He was MC and DJ for the University of Hawaii Nursing Banquet that was held back in May15, 2014. To this day I still remember everything. What good is an MC if you don't remember anything. Teley definitely left a mark, a GOOD ONE! He was crazy(silly). He even got everyone to get out of their seats and start a dancing train with everyone having so much fun and pulling each other out of their seats. Of all the DJs that I've seen, Teley is THE ONE! The one and only Teley! :P No really though, he's a cool guy, better than all the other DJs I've seen. I definitely recommend him to others. He keeps the party fun and entertaining. Every now and then he did games to keep people interacted. One of the games included the photo booth. He got everyone to participate in a photo booth contest. In the end, everyone was just having so much fun taking lots of pictures just to win the photo booth contest. He really knows how to get everyone involved, and by that I mean EVVVERYOONE. Being in the wedding industry myself for over 9 years, I must have seen over a hundred weddings (not even joking), and when you have been to as many as I have, you usually know what is going to happen before it even does. The grand entrance of the bridal party is usually boring or awkward. Nobody wants to come up for the garter toss and bouquet toss. no one pays attention to the cake cutting and the first dance, then 80% of the guests get up and leave out of boredom and only 10% of the remainder (usually relatives) get up and dance to the electric slide, then sit down for the rest of the night and watch the drunk uncle or aunty dance by themselves on the dancefloor. Well, Showtime DJ's changes all of that. For my wedding, I wanted the best, so I asked other industry professionals where I should go. I wanted to make my wedding fun, lively, something that people would be talking about for a long time, and I needed a DJ and MC who could help bring the energy. Phillip from Showtime DJs brought it big time. From the bridal party's entrance to the last song, Phillip had our guests laughing, dancing, and having a great time. When the dancefloor opened up, almost everyone was sticking around and dancing! I thought that I had a huge dancefloor (25' x 24') , but Phillip had it packed like a club! Aunties and Uncles, kids, grandparents, everyone was dancing up a storm all the way till we had to kick people out. Its been almost 2 months, and people are STILL coming up to me and telling me that our wedding was the best that they have ever been to! This review is coming from the perspective of a guest at a wedding. We had a blast! Teley totally rocked the house...this was the best a.m. wedding I have ever attended in my life. There were times where I forgot that it was only 12 p.m! He was super funny and had a great connection with the crowd. Everyone was laughing and having a good time. Things went really smoothly from my guest perspective and there was never a dull moment. For all I know, there could have been some little miss steps here and there..but I didn't notice a thing....I had the time of my life at this wedding! The real highlight of the wedding was the dancing at the end. Teley played awesome music and got the crowd going. It was so cute because the parents of the bride and groom even danced to the fist pumping music. Even better....grandpa and grandma of the bride and groom were fist pumping to Brittney Spears! Now, that is a good sign. If grandma and grandpa are feeling it...you really got a party going. And my dear husband who rarely dances, he even broke a sweat! So we hired dj Teley B for our nursing school celebration banquet and he was the highlight of the night. He did an awesome job getting the whole party up and into the celebration spirit. Also he always has surprises up his sleeve. On the planning side of the party, he is pretty independent and easy to work with because besides giving him a general idea of what we want, he had a lot of good ideas to contribute and required little guidance to get things going. He also knows the venue enough to know where to drop off the equipment and etc. Overall he is definitely worth the money and will make your event unforgettable. We just got married on 7/2/11 and Phillip from Showtime DJs did a FABULOUS job. We didn't actually meet Phillip until about a week before the wedding, but Teley had guaranteed us that he would be great - and he was! Every one of our guests had so much fun, and all of them said they have never seen so many people on the dance floor at a wedding. Phillip played every song that needed to be played, and made sure he used the correct version of all of our special dances. It seriously could not have been better. Thank you Phillip for your energy and enthusiasm all night long. My dad keeps talking about how you were on the dance floor leading the guests in dances, and how he's never seen a DJ do that before, lol. We had the wedding of our dreams, and Showtime DJs had a lot to do with it. On a side note, I didn't have any trouble getting in touch with Teley to set up the initial consultation, but even if it is hard to reach him, it's definitely worth the wait. Alright. My wedding was just this past weekend (November 10, 2013), and I feel incredibly compelled to write this review as soon as possible. Firstly, we had a lot of out town guests come in for this wedding party. I am part Hawaiian with a very strong Hawaiian family and my now husband is a nuclear submarine officer and we were very adamant that it was imperative that we have a DJ that can ensure that everyone has a fun time. Secondly, we had a lot of different people from different backgrounds at our wedding (a lot of predominant business owners both from Hawaii and from out state) and some regular people (like my crazy girlfriends) and the list of variety can honestly go on and on. To be honest, I was nervous on the extreme differences of personalities and if everyone could come together and have fun. Teley and Phillip delivered and put my anxiety to ease. So many of our guests commented on how this is the only DJ they have ever witnessed that took control of the crowd and did a fantastic job keeping everyone engaged, happy and having fun. So far I have had three local business owners come up to me (who were guests) asking me for Teley's business card because he was SO SO SO amazing and they were so impressed. Do you have to pay a touch extra for both Teley and Phillip? Yes. But is it so so so so so so so so worth it? You have no idea. I cannot tell you how worth it is. Every single person loved it. So many people have told me that our wedding was the best wedding they had ever been to- and I have to give Teley and Phillip props for it. I appreciate them so much. DJ Teley did a great job at our wedding. When we were looking for a DJ for our wedding, someone suggested him. As we were discussing what they liked about him, someone else came up and said, "DJ Teley? He DJed an event we had! I don't even like dancing, but he got the whole crowd into it. It was fun!" With that, we hired him. Yes, you have to pay a little extra for him, but you get what you pay for, and in our opinion, he was worth it. We had guests tell us that ours was the most fun wedding they'd ever been to, and while I'd like to take credit for planning a fun party, I have to give credit to DJ Teley for the beats. He's also smart- when a drunken groomsman requested that he play the national anthem, he made sure to get approval from me (the bride) before playing it. Of course, I said yes because what's a wedding without a little patriotism? However, had it been a song I disapproved of, I would have appreciated his discretion in not playing just anything any boozed up guest requested. There were numerous emails sent back and forth prior to finalizing our booking and down payment, and I guess someone who wanted a simple vendor might not want to go through that, but we appreciated his thoroughness and all the services that he offered. In late June of this year, DJ Teley did our wedding and we, and our 230 guests had an AMAZING time! He was extremely professional, he was there on time (even earlier than we had expected!) and did a wonderful job of getting our guests from age 5 to 65 on the floor and dancing. If you want to dance at your wedding, you should hire this guy! Ignore any reviews that say he wasn't great. They were just coming from people who are too needy. Also, Dj Teley was a wonderful person to be around. Besides the professional aspect to the night, he was very polite, positive and caring. Teley was super flexible, and though he allowed us to give a detailed list of the songs we wanted him to play and people to announce, he welcomed additional song requests, and he made it happen. A nice touch that we appreciated was that early in the reception while guests were getting settled, he made his way around the tables to get song requests from the guests. Seriously, this guy is all that and a bag of chips... and I'm talking the big, COSTCO sized-bag! Our wedding photographer, Dave Miyamoto (also amazing!) recommended Teley after I described the type of wedding reception we wanted to have (classy, fun and energetic). From the first time my husband and I met with Teley, we knew he was THE ONE for us. I can't count how many of our guests approached us (during the wedding, directly after, and even now, almost a month later) to comment on how incredibly entertaining Teley was. (And I'm referring to a whole mixture of people - from my teeny bopper little cousins, my long-time friends, and even my aunties and uncles, who have commented on Teley's stellar performance.) Everyone had a great time at the wedding, and I know that Teley played a HUUUGE factor in that. Teley was the DJ and MC for our nursing class graduation banquet, and he was AMAZING! From the moment he sat down with us to plan the night, he was cracking jokes and pouring out awesome ideas. He worked with us to find a package that fit our needs and our budget. On the night of our banquet, he really got EVERYONE involved, getting people up to dance, participate in "fashion contests", and other games he made up which were crazy fun! I really liked how he customized his jokes etc. to focus on nursing and nursing students... He also took the time to meet guests whenever he could, and then later called out people in the party by name to participate in games or dancing, etc... Teley really knows how to help everyone get involved and have fun... even the shy people! I loved how he got all the different little "cliques" in our nursing class to get up, interact with each other and have a blast. He will definitely bring life to your event or party and make it a night for everyone to remember. We hired Showtime DJs for our destination wedding in Honolulu, HI. We had great service from the start. I spoke to Teley over the phone several times, always making me feel comfortable and wanting to know how he could best serve my needs. I was a little nervous about the whole thing since I had never been to Hawaii and would be having our wedding there. The day of my wedding was the day we would arrive to Hawaii (since we were on a cruise ship). Teley made me feel comfortable and confident that my wedding day was going to be great! And it was! Philip was our DJ for the night and he was amazing! It was the first time I was meeting him, since it was my first day on the island, but he was so personable and friendly. He connected with my guests immediately! He entertained them perfectly, even with the different choices in music, he was able to mix it well. He even played a lot of music in spanish for my Mexican family. Again, he was amazing. There was a popular song we didnt know the steps to and he came on the dance floor and taught us. I would recommend them to anyone, my experience with them since the very first call was great! My wedding was on June 9, 2012 and we couldn't have asked for a better performance than what we were given. Teley had everyone dancing! People we didn't dream would get up and shake their bottoms were on the floor and cutting it up. The dream lighting made our venue look like a dance club. The party favors were a huge hit and help fuel the dancing. The music selection was spot on and had people laughing and jumping. He was our MC that night and the events transitioned smoothly from one thing to another. There weren't any lag spots or uncomfortable pauses at anytime. He was able to get the crowd involved and help make our day feel special. All that was just the day of the event! He also did many dance lessons for us and choreographed our first dance. He taught and helped us learn the 3 dances we planned to do within 2 weeks. That includes a dance with our entire bridal party. If you are wondering why the missing 5th star? Well that is his communication and business side of his business. He has admitted to us that that is his weakness and in the coming months he will be fixing that by hiring people to cover it. We understood this when we hired him but what we wanted was a great DJ and a performance that every person at our reception would remember. With comments like, "I haven't danced in 19 years!" and "That was the best wedding reception I have ever been to", you know he delivered. I would recommend Teley B. to anyone that wants people to dance and is willing to go 100% into the party. I think it is totally hilarious that Teley has time to write a response "fueled by anger, jealousy, and destructive energy." I'd like to point out that this vendor resorts to name calling ("terrible human being" and "evil") rather than making any sort of logical or constructive argument for his case (or, like a normal business owner in the interest of customer service, apologizing gracefully for a one-time situation). And I'd like to point out that he calls his events "performances" - I'm sorry but the DJ is not the "star" of the "show" at any wedding. He's right, my husband and I don't deserve his "performance," we deserve a DJ/MC that wants to make it about us and our family and friends rather than call attention to himself. And I can't help but point out that he says it's a "free world" and talks about freedom to do what we want when we want - but wanted me to take my original review down. In fact I outright said it was fine if he didn't want to book our event because it *is* up to a business like this to choose their clientele. All he had to do was price it way out of our budget (which we were upfront about) or say he had the day already booked. Instead he handled it (and continues to handle it) like a petulant child. If he honestly doesn't care what I think why is he getting so worked up enough to write back a rant? I'm not on any warpath. I think it's important for brides overwhelmed with choices to have truthful information about other people's experiences. If you notice, a good majority of my other reviews and tips are positive. And a mature, rational vendor would realize that one bad review doesn't matter anyway - when it's a pattern it becomes worrisome, and a hint to learn from. And if I thought it would be heeded, I'd offer him "a little advice"...money doesn't buy Aloha. :) My husband was pretty mad when he read Teley's comment. But I'm not. Teley's comment says more about himself than anything else. read more

Showtime DJs ruined our wedding, to the point that now, after almost four years, we refuse to watch the wedding video we paid $2000 for. We should've known from the beginning when he stood us up the first time for the consultation. Like another reviewer said, he later apologized and because he offered a good price, we decided to go with him and hired him for the ceremony/reception music and hired Teley to be our master of ceremonies. We met with him a few times and about two weeks prior to the wedding, we finalized the entire program with him, under the impression that we would have him as our emcee. Teley finalized the program on his computer and promised to send it to us that evening. When we didn't receive it, we contacted him on a daily basis to follow-up. Finally, on the NIGHT BEFORE THE WEDDING, we received a call from some woman we never spoke with before, claiming to work for Teley saying that she would be our emcee because he accidentally double-booked us. Of course, we totally freaked out because at that point we still could not get in contact with Teley via his cell or email. She agreed to meet with us that night and apologized, saying that he knew about it for about a week before telling us, but was trying to work it out with the client he double-booked us with. She reassured us that things would go smoothly, and at that point we had no other choice, so we just went with it. We couldn't even review the program with her because Teley still hadn't sent her or us what we'd agreed to two weeks prior. On the day of the wedding, things went badly. 1) The emcee was not prepared, which is not surprising since she only received the program the day of the wedding. She had no idea what was going on, mispronounced names, skipped over my grandfather's name, and messed up the program order. 2) The DJ didn't play the songs we chose or in the order we chose them. 3) The DJ didn't play complete songs during the reception (some guests complained that he would start a new song in the middle of a song that was already playing). 4) To top it all off, during our choreographed first dance, the DJ started PLAYING ANOTHER SONG! He was using iTunes and was preparing the next song in the queue. All he had to do was just leave it, not touch anything and everything would've been fine. Since he didn't know where we left off, he just restarted the song, of course without telling us, so we just started from a point we thought we could finish at. This was the most painful part because it was in front of all of our family and friends and we paid for dance lessons specifically for this moment. We finally received a call from Teley the day after the wedding and he refunded us for the reception music and emcee (we weren't refunded for the ceremony). Even though we received a refund, the damage was done. We spent thousands of dollars and over a year planning the wedding -- a day we thought would be the happiest day of our lives -- and now even thinking about it is upsetting. So, we would DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND SHOWTIME DJS. Find someone with better communications skills and provides a service you can rely on. read more

He listened to our requests and suggested things based on his experience. All of his suggestions and plans were extremely appropriate and made the party even better. This review is strictly for Phillip, and a little with Teley, but mainly the wedding which Phillip emcee'd and DJ'd. The wife and I would highly recommend booking with Phillip as we heard so many good things from our guests, positive things no less! From the very beginning to the last song of the night, he pumped it up to the max. Phillip was very professional, flexible, and able to give us suggestions on a wedding program as we had no clue going in to our final meeting. We had a basic idea, then with Phillips experience/vision he lined up the perfect program. I can't tell you enough how much people were shocked and happy with how our program turned out, and even told us it definitely was not boring/plain. With today's technology, we were able to text/email back and forth with little to no lag on responses leading up to the wedding day, and I even gave him some last minute updates the day of, flexible! As I stated before, Phillip is the man to get, glad we got him and recommend him for others if you want to spruce up your wedding/party. He definitely get's 5 stars. Here is my reason for only giving 4 star rating to Showtime, lack of communication amongst each other, and early on with the customer (us). 1) When we first booked with them a few months prior everything was all good and Teley would email us back and even called to finalize our contract, I provided them payment and all was good, so I thought. A few weeks went by, never saw a charge for my deposit, so I contact them and sure enough, nothing was ever charged and had to wait for Teley to return from vacation. So as soon as he returned he called me back, got my card number again and finally put through the deposit. 2) Finally, when all was said and done, we had paid Phillip via check the day of the wedding as we agreed that week. While on my honeymoon, I happened to check on my account for something unrelated, and noticed a charge had been put through for the same amount via my card on file. Explanation was because payment was not received and they thought I hadn't paid, so charged my card. Which brings me back to my lack of communication, had Teley contact Phillip to verify nothing was received by me, he would of found out I paid. All in all, 4/5 stars is ridiculous and I would highly recommend them regardless of the minus a star reasoning, its all about the wedding day, not the minor things. If you're looking for a D.J. for your event - look no further! Tele has no equal. I'm the mother of the bride, a.k.a. the banker. I recently attended a wedding that had the worst D.J.'s. Somehow 2 songs were playing simultaneously, the music was just bad, neither one ever got "involved" with the guests to urge them to join in - very boring. When my son-in-law and daughter showed me the videos of Tele on the dance floor, leading the dances, singing, encouraging every one - I was sold. I don't know how much the other D.J.'s charged but a bad D.J. at your event isn't worth anything. We had a pastor and his wife stay until the very end, we have them on video dancing up a storm. He told me they get invited to a LOT of weddings but "this was the best wedding they've ever gone to". My husband and I have been in business for 28 years and we know that, unfortunately, sometimes things happen and a customer isn't happy with your service. It happens in every industry. And that may be what happened with the negative reviews. I'm not doubting that they weren't pleased with the service and that's really a shame. But I don't believe those few negative reviews reflect Tele's longstanding excellence. He wasn't just going through the motions - he put his heart and soul into it. As far as the contracts and e-mails go, sometimes there are glitches. I e-mailed our credit card info for the deposit but he never received it. Did he assume we had changed our mind and booked himself another job? No. A few days before the wedding he sent me a very respectful e-mail saying he had not received the deposit. I re-sent the info and all was good. I've never written a review about anyone or anything before but I told my daughter that she should write a review about how good Tele was. If you want yourself a high energy and charismatic DJ that will not only entertain everyone but get all your guests participating and involved on your special day, Teley is your guy. The first time that my wife and I saw this guy was at one of my friend's weddings. I can honestly say that I had never seen someone that could command a room using humor and liveliness like this guy could. He had everyone hysterically laughing but at the same time focused on the couple. And at the end of the traditional program, Teley somehow got the dance floor rocking. I knew right away that this was our guy to care of or M.C/DJ needs. We contacted him extremely early (year and a half before our wedding date). Teley was more than happy to help us with planning in this early stage and even offered to help us contact other vendors that could help us out. He had a wealth of knowledge and resources that really enabled us to create the wedding that my wife always dreamed of. On the next meeting; a few weeks before our wedding, Teley met with us to go over our program. He was very organized with his paper work and insured that the whole wedding party was informed with the program and timeline. Teley was very detail oriented when it came down to things like music, introductions, and pronunciation. Extremely professional On the day of, Teley did a fantastic job of letting us enjoy or day. With him by your side, you really don't have to worry about your program. He had my wife and I laughing, dancing, kissing, and most of all enjoying the moment with each other- with our guests. I can't tell you how important that is. And on the last hour or so--we danced the night away with family and friends. What a perfect end. One of my friends liked him so much; they're planning to fly him up to Cali for their wedding. I've been using Showtime DJ's for our high school prom for the last 7 years, and I will continue to do so. They are professional, but more importantly, they get the crowd pumped. I've been to many proms, and you almost always see kids sitting at a table looking bored. Not with Showtime DJ's. They make the night fun! The DJ's don't just play songs from a playlist, they actually interact with the crowd and will cater to the wants of the students. We've used Showtime DJ's for our high school proms for at least the last five years. In fact, one year we suggested to our high school students to go a different route in order to reduce the cost of prom tickets. However, the kids were absolutely against it, and insisted that Showtime continue to provide their great service and entertainment for our annual prom event. I've never been disappointed, they get the kids out on the dance floor, and they make prom the memorial event it should be for all kids. I also appreciate their extra due diligence to keep the music clean since prom is a school sponsored event. We won't even consider another DJ option for prom. read more

This review is long overdue! This was the first time I have heard about and worked with this company. Our wedding was in February 2017 at Haiku Gardens. DJ Tele did an amazing job at our reception at Haleiwa Joe's. Everyone at the party talked about how entertaining he was and asked us how we found him (our lovely wedding coordinator Tamara recommended him).
