Nice seats that are very roomy and offer a slight recline to them, and when paired with stadium seating, it makes viewing very easy and comfortable. I come here when I'm back in the area visiting family. I'm old enough that I remember when this…read moretheater was first put in. This is an older theater that has been renovated a couple times in its history. It has been brought up to the current AMC standard which means large reclining chairs and a small bar inside. It is still a modest sized theater relative to what you would find in larger cities, but overall I think this does a good job. Prices are what you would expect these days, but that is pretty much theater standard rather than something unique to this location. I would recommend buying tickets ahead of time since there is assigned seating. It makes a huge difference to be in the center seats all together rather than be on the sides or too far forward. You can also order your food ahead of time so it is ready to go when you arrive. I thought that was a really nice feature. Overall no complaints, it is a pretty standard movie going experience.

I really don't go to the movies often (maybe once a year) but after my experience, I will be spending my money here more often. I received a student discount, the popcorn was fresh and delicious, the bathrooms were clean, parking is a breeze, the aesthetic is very cool, the theater/movie quality was on point, and the best part, it's locally owned and operated. 5 stars to you, Maiden Alley Cinema, you make downtown Paducah a special experience!

Large screen, large seating area, staggered seats, good sound system, friendly staff, and candy dishes in the lobby. I like that it's only a single screen theater, it not only reminds me of the old days but I don't have to worry about sound from a next door theater leaking through. The lobby and bathrooms have a fun collection of old movie posters and headshots, including one of my all time favorite movies - Paper Moon. The Back Lot is new and has comfortable seats, though not recliners. They show more artsy, indie films back there, or movies that have outlived the necessity for the larger seating capacity, and it's cozy. I think it seats 45 people or so. The only drawback to the theater is the bathroom location for the main theater. It's upstairs up a large flight of stairs with narrow steps. My mom hates going up the stairs, even after the film when there's time to navigate the steps. It's definitely a better/quicker trek than the bathrooms at Plaza Frontenac theaters but difficult for people with limited mobility.

It's for sure due for a lobby and concession area "glow up" The newer theatres with Dolby sound and recliner seats are clean and the seats are comfy. My only complaint about the seats is the recliner works oddly. It's sort of all or nothing which I'd prefer to have my legs up and not lie down. I'd skip pretzels, mine were cold and lacked any flavor. For the more outdated theatre the prices are high, almost $20 for a movie here which is more than the prices at the brand new theatre in St. Louis so In my opinion, it's too high. If you are into a no frills movie experience then this is the spot! Good popcorn and comfy seats!
