I highly recommend Old School Entertainment. The depth and breadth of Phil Tucker's knowledge of…read moremusic across all genres is simply impressive. I traveled pretty far to have my wedding in the Cincinnati area, and I can definitively say after the fact that having Phil be a part of it was essential. We explained to him how we wanted our wedding and brunch reception to look and 'feel'--which was pretty abstract--and Phil NAILED it! Not only with the music, but also by reading the crowd and anticipating the day's events with precision. No easy feat given that we built in contingencies and asked him to look for our cues. Just as important, leading up to our big day Phil always availed himself for our questions/requests - and was real asset in our ceremony and reception planning. A true professional and a master of his craft!

All our guests said they had such a great time dancing and loved the interaction with the band and they made our wedding one of the most fun and memorable wedding even I've ever attended! I attended a gorgeous wedding at the Savannah Center and was impressed with both the venue, the…read moreattention to detail in planning, and the delicious catering. Savannah Center is tucked off of Union Center Boulevard in a vast green space. The wedding ceremony took place outside on a lovely sunny day. The couple said their vows inside a gazebo, which was positioned in front of a scenic lake and fountain view. The bridal party had a variety of places to take photographs, from outside, to the grand stairwell, to an area with posh seating that just so happened to match the wedding colors. Keeping with tradition, the bride and groom chose not to see each other before the ceremony. Each had private rooms on opposite ends of the building. After the vows, guests were led into a cocktail area, then later were seated in the dining room for the wedding party introductions. Dinner consisted of grilled chicken or filet mignon, with mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetables. I made a joke about mixed vegetables being "filler", but these were very tasty! It was a mixture of zucchini, red and yellow peppers, onion, and broccoli. The steak was succulent and as always, the mashed potatoes were devoured. I also enjoyed the pita chips that were served along in the bread basket. A small salad with red pepper ranch dressing was served for an appetizer. I'm not sure if the wedding cake was crafted by the caterers, but it was moist and savory. Throughout the evening, I spotted Mary, the wedding planner, keeping everything organized and on task. She works for Savannah Center and definitely had her hands full for this elaborate wedding: - Outside ceremony with about 150 guests - Live acoustic Celtic band: harp, flute, and violin - Five bridesmaids and five groomsmen, two flower girls, and a gigantic immediate family - Serving a three-course meal - A live band for the reception - A separate master of ceremony for the reception All of this, and she had to keep the bride and groom from seeing each other. The wedding went off flawlessly, and from what I could tell, all the guests were having a wonderful, lively time.

Really like this venue for wedding receptions and ceremonies! I am a local wedding photographer, so…read moreI am at more venues than most. I have shot several weddings at Savannah Center - some included the ceremony there, too, in the outdoor area with the gazebo. First off, as a photographer, I really like the cool details in this venue. There's the staircase (to nowhere) which gets soft light from the windows by it - just perfect for gorgeous bridal and other portraits. I like the wood panel area with fireplace for the groom/groomsmen photos. The piano makes a great place to do photos - fun or otherwise. It makes for very cool wedding ring photos, too - with the reflection. The over sized chairs work well for photos of the bride and groom. And there's all the outdoor area/gardens. Even with the buildings in the background, there are ways to get great photos. Also, the food is very good - better than many venues/caterers. Another plus - you can't hear the music from other weddings. The bridal suite for getting ready is spacious and well appointed. Every time I've been there, the staff has been professional with good service. They've even helped move furniture in the main lobby for photos! In summary - I would definitely recommend The Savannah Center to couples looking for a wedding venue with some character and lots of pluses. It has a lot to offer, and they do a fabulous job!

My dance floor was PACKED all night, and that is 100% because of Phil's energy, talent, and ability to read a crowd. They are professional, communicative, and truly know how to elevate an event. Even without knowing I'm in the industry, they made the day feel so special - and I would recommend them to any of my clients in a heartbeat.

Things we loved: - He was very responsive and open to communications leading up to the wedding. It honestly was a huge weight off our shoulders. - My brother in-law played a song for us and Jeremy identified potential issues early and figured out work-arounds. Both guitar and vocals were perfect. - He was great at keeping everything on schedule and hitting all of the right timing. - Lastly, we have a lot of conservative family members. He kept the dancefloor pumping with grandma approved songs until the boring family members left! Perfectly executed.

I went up to him that night to get his information knowing that if I ever got married, I had to book this man. The most overwhelming comment about my wedding was how amazing the music was. We heard, "by far the best wedding music," "that DJ is incredible," and so much more. Music is the most important thing to get a party going -- which is what a wedding is! The biggest party you'll ever throw. Nemar works well with you to understand exactly the vibe you're looking for and exceeds all of your expectations. He is the most talented, genuine, fun DJ I've ever encountered and he ABSOLUTELY knows how to get the party going. He's all around, just an incredible person to have at your day and throughout the planning process. We also rented our lighting through Maize Music and it was exceptional-- it set the tone of the evening and made the space feel full, exciting, intimate, and lively. We were promised, in writing over a text message that I have proof of and verbally on the phone, a full refund minus the uplighting that we added to our package. We got married in 2021 and still have not seen a single penny. Nemar has refused to return phone calls, text messages, emails and has completely ghosted us. I would not recommend Maize Music because of the unreliability, untrustworthiness and lies they have told. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM.

My original thought was just to stop and grab a few pictures of the outside. I didn't REALLY need to go inside. (YES, YES I DID). I got there about an hour before the first tour started, so the Husbeast and I enjoyed a little country Karaoke as I walked around and took photos. It's exactly what a Honky Tonk looks like (And smells like: Liquor, Beer, Sweat and Cigarette smoke). There were a couple of regulars playing pool and a few others singing, The guys and gals line dancing to 'Footloose' made me grin. Mark was our tour guide and he is a Gem. He has the history of the place down to a good patter. It's sad about the recent-ish mudslide on the other side of the hill. The basement is a "special" place. Even if you don't believe in ghosts or demonic things, please surround yourself with white light and protection. I'm not saying it's related but I did end up with a huge bruise on my stomach and 2 days after I got home to FLA I ended up in the ER with Blood pressure Issues. Just sayin. It's not a place to fool around with. There've been too many folks who have done TOO MANY stupid things there without knowing what they're engaging with. My own personal experiences were: I saw a female shape to the right, when you're facing looking into the well room, it had a very victorian style silouhette. I felt a cold spot as we entered into the room of faces. There was something touching me in the jail cell, I felt, rather than heard voices in there. In the spot between the stairway to heaven, and the pit to hell, I felt a pain in my stomach. I ended up with a large bruise on my belly. May not be connected, but who knows. The husbeast, who's an absolute null, and skeptic, felt slightly dizzy in the jail cell, and saw "something" off the the left, near the mechanical bull in the basement. Would I come back? Yes. Probably even to drink and dance. It was a cool place.
