After starting my own personal journey and not seeing the results I wanted for about 3 months, I was lucky to walk into Showdown Training Club and meet Coach Tucker. This was my first time doing CrossFit, and I am happy to say it has truly changed my life. Coach Tucker has been instrumental in this new journey I embarked on half way through my thirties, to join the military as an officer.With a combination of group training days and individualized training, not only did I achieve my goal of being able to pass the military fitness test by doing enough pushups and sit-ups, but I killed my test by scoring a 93. I was able to lose over 13 pounds and 6.6 % fat in just under 2 months. The best part of it was having a coach but also a cheerleader who gave me nutrition advise and answered my text messages on the weekend. I could not have asked for a better experience. 5/1/2018 - I was invited by a friend, a member of Showdown, for a fun, free workout. If you drive too fast on Stirling you may miss it. There was a sign pointing to the end of a parking lot that ended at the location of Showdown. Our group of friends arrived around 6:15pm for a 6:30pm class. You walk in through turf to get to the box (gym/facility). We immediately were greeted by doggies. The owner Joey welcomed us and asked that we sign-in to the system. After putting our things away, getting our waters, we were ready. Coach Kat asked that we meet her out on the turf. We did a few warm up drills before getting ready for the skill portion. The skill was 5 rounds of DU's (double-unders, jump rope twice in one jump), 30 seconds jump and 30 seconds rest. I would say we were warmed up to start the WOD (workout of the day). There were approximately 12-15 people so Coach Kat asked that we got into Team of 2 since they didn't have enough equipment required in the WOD for all of us to use individually. WOD: Plenty of Gas in the Tank (Time) 4 Rounds 200m Run 20 Wall Balls 15 Burpees 10L 10R Dumbbell Power Snatches 35/25 5 Overhead Squats 115/75 200m Row Great workout! I have been to other facilities and other workout places and I've always found in this type of setting that people get introduced as first timers or people come up to you to talk, to make you feel welcomed. I have been part of the Showdown family for about three years. I have included the meltdown class into my schedule as well. Both classes offer friendships/support with other athletes and knowledgeable coaches who know just how to push each person to the best of their personal ability. I know the word Crossfit scares some people, but this place welcomes you with open arms, nothing scary here. Love my gym! I've been going to Showdown for over a year now. I started at meltdown and loved it but wanted something more challenging so I switched over to the CrossFit side! The coaches are super helpful and approachable. Always willing to help explain something again or show you how to do the movement correctly. I started Crossfit in Nevada 4 years ago. I recently moved to FL for work and have been in search for the perfect Crossfit gym for me. One can never use enough input from their CF coaches on ways to improve form and ways to improve their fitness level in general, and Joey Morgenstern is awesome at doing just that! What I particularly liked is that the classes at CF Showdown are both challenging for a seasoned Crossfitter, yet tailored to accommodate any fitness level should I want to bring my first-timer friends in with me. I've lived in Broward County all over for about 5 years. I am super lazy about driving out too far to exercise, so every time I move I join the closest gym/studio to my house. Because of this I have been to a fair amount of gyms. I honestly love studios (spinning, pilates, yoga, etc) but they are so expensive that I can never attend classes how I really want. In dire need to get back in shape while on a budget I decided to check out CS. I just started Crossfit Showdown a couple of days ago and already I am fairly impressed. Super clean and spacious, very friendly and motivational staff/members, AND its 1 block from my house :) I am excited about my new journey into fitness! Fantastic place to workout, either with the CrossFit side of things, or in the Meltdown classes (think of Orange-theory style classes with an even better mix of cardio and strength). The coaches are always willing to help you work harder and will push you to do better, while making sure that you maintain the correct form during a workout. There's a lot of boxes (crossfit gyms) out there. I've been to two other ones as well. Crossfit Showdown stands out. It has a nice open space to WOD, plenty of equipment, great restrooms (including a shower), excellent flooring, and the temperature inside is nice. The coaches help you set new PRs (personal records) all the time without pushing you past your limit and also review key points and common mistakes made on lifts and movements. They also offer yoga every Sunday. I've been to other yoga classes, and the instructor at Crossfit Showdown is really good. So crossfit and yoga at the same place? Yup. It's great. I get to build strength, endurance, explosive power with the crossfit and increase flexibility and decompress my spine with the yoga. Go check it out for yourself if you don't believe me. read more

I was one of those people hesitant to try Crossfit as a means for exercise. I was worried about the focus on speed/time, and if it would compromise form - which to me, was a recipe for injury. With a little push from my Crossfitting boyfriend, I tried out a few WODs at Crossfit Showdown. A few months in, I'm more than pleased with our decision to join up. The atmosphere is competitive, but by no means at the sacrifice of proper form and development. The wonderful coaching staff, lead by Joey, can accommodate a class full of both experienced and rookie "students", working eager participants through progressions until goals are not only met, but exceeded. Yoga on Sunday is the perfect complement to the rest of the week's intense WODS - working different muscle groups and allowing for a wind-down, while still being challenging. Overall, very happy to be at this box. I recommend it both to those more experienced Crossfit enthusiasts looking to try a new spot, as well as the fitness rookie looking for an atmosphere that will encourage consistent exercise and serve as motivation to become a stronger, healthier version of yourself. read more

I am so grateful to have come across this CrossFit box. The coaches are all very friendly and make you feel comfortable no matter what level of fitness you are in. I think it's amazing how much attention they give you while you're working out, in order to make sure that you are not injuring yourself and that you are pushing yourself enough to see growth. There are no cliques, there is no judging, there is only support! I love the people I work out with and it feels like an inclusive club where anyone can join and be the best they can be. The workouts are really tough and very thorough. I came from another CrossFit and I definitely think this is a step up compared to where I came from. This is the most comfortable box I've been to yet. It can be a bit intimidating to go to a new place at first, but everyone there is welcoming and each class has beginner to advanced members in it. The coaches are great motivators and help you push through any wod. If you don't understand a certain movement, they will help you step by step and will not stop until you succeed. It easily fits in your daily routines, since they have multiple classes in the morning and multiple at night. I definitely recommend anyone who wants to try or has been doing crossfit for years to go to Crossfit Showdown. :) read more
