Here's a breakdown of the work: - Finished construction of an unfinished basement - Herbert guided me through the entire floor plan, explaining the electrical layout, wall placements, and ideal appliance orientation - Built a kitchen from scratch -- excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail - Painted the entire house, including ceilings, walls, floors, and even the garage They completed all of this in just over two weeks, working 7 days a week from 7 AM to 7 PM. The quality of the work was outstanding. Herbert was reliable, responsive, and extremely accommodating. I had multiple change requests during the job, and he handled all of them without hesitation. After getting several quotes, Herbert's pricing was the most competitive. All work was completed to code and with professionalism. If you're looking for a skilled, jack-of-all-trades contractor, Herbert is your guy. He brings in specialists for larger tasks (electrical, plumbing, landscaping, etc.) and manages the project seamlessly. I'll definitely be calling him for future work on my properties and strongly recommend him to others.

Communication with the owner was exceptional from start to finish. No long wait times, no back-and-forth delays--just clear, prompt, and professional responses that made coordination effortless. What impressed me most was their ability to perform under extremely challenging conditions. With 25-30 mph wind gusts and a three-story exterior to paint, I fully expected delays. Instead, they performed absolute magic. Their precision, attention to detail, and commitment to getting the job done safely and correctly were remarkable. This project was for one of our premier rentals in Alexandria, and the final result looks fantastic. I would absolutely use JZ Painting again for future projects and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others looking for a reliable, high-quality painting crew. We hired Jesse and his team to paint our primary residence in preparation for a spring sale and it made a vast difference in our marketing. Not only did we sell our home quickly, and for top dollar, we enjoyed having Jesse's team at our home during a stressful renovation period. They worked collaboratively, communicated respectfully, and brought a comfortable energy to our home during their working hours. They cleaned up after themselves and Jesse was sure to come by regularly to check on the work. When our bathroom paint bubbled because the previous flipper did not prime the walls well, they executed the repair work perfectly. Although the exact color I wanted was not available, Jesse went to his paint store and custom ordered a color that was an excellent match - had he not told me, I would not have known the difference. Though this review is long over due, it was well earned. Thank you Jesse for an excellent job. We have passed your company information along to the new buyers in case they need to order more paint through you.

Wilmer and his team are incredible…read more The team was detail oriented, incredible communicators, proactive and thoughtful, and cared for our home as if it was their own. For context, they painted the interior or of our entire home - walls, trim, and ceiling. The team knew how to work with high end paint and transformed a set of drab, beige, poorly textured, and banged up walls. They sanded the walls to manage the texture, worked expertly with tricky corners, managed complex work with dry wall to address dings and structural oddities. They are not just incredible painters - they are also amazing project managers and partners. The team managed our paint job while we traveled, but our furniture and floors were kept pristine (despite our 0% prep for them). When they ran out of paint (because I insisted on getting it and didn't get enough!), they reached out. When I didn't get back to them soon enough, they went to the store and perfectly matched the color, no VOC, and other specifications. Wilmer is warm, personable, proactive, and an excellent person to have on your team as a part of the work to transform your space! His team is also wonderful, expert, and easy to be around (I know, because i hired them for a second job and this time didn't leave town). Feel free to reach out to me with questions.
