We recommended friends to stay and play here. They said the rooms were really nice, but the casino and restaurant were like a ghost town. The locals told them the new micromanagement is causing staff turnover, restaurant closes without notice, slot machine payout is below 50%, no daily casino promotions, and they brought back smoking leaving only a tiny room for non-smokers. Felt really sorry for the very unhappy staff and locals! read more

Traveling from Minnesota to Salt Lake City and wanted to experience Thermopolis hot springs but desired to get a little closer to SLC for the evening. After searching the towns in between Thermopolis and here, I opted to check in here for the evening due to no hotels showing up past Lander for quite some time...and I was not up to driving thru the mountains in the dark. After looking at the other hotels in town, this one was the only one with 5 star AND after checking the website for prices- it was a no brained! (Seriously, a hotel room this clean and gorgeous for only $100 a night?!!) Walking into any hotel room for me is always and instant hot or miss. So many hotel rooms have a scent that can be repealing when I walk in, often cleaning things missed, or just a really outdated decor. This one has none of that! It's the cleanest, pleasant smelling (a smidge overly cleaning products scented for my nose though) most modern, pretty, comfortable hotel room I've been in for awhile. Especially for the price!!! The pillows are a bit firm. I always travel with my own anyway. Bed was comfortable (on the firm side.) The bathroom had all the toiletries needed (and beyond any other hotel I've e we been at- toothpaste included!) My only challenge is that it was cold as heck when I walked in and took me awhile to figure out how the get the room to warm up (thermostat for setting the temp is on the wall- not the buttons where the ac/heat comes out of. FaceTime reason temperature 48° when I walked in and even though it's mid June, it was really cold outside today. On the entrance factor...The entry way goes to the casino. You have to go to the right- down past the store thru some glass doors to reach the hotel desk. (The staff was really sweet and helpful). This also means to u load your car to bro g your bags to your room- you have to walk past the casino part. They do thankfully have plenty of bell hop carts available. The entry doors do not automatically open but the guy at the door opened the door for me both ways (the staff is awesome!) They have a restaurant that is open from 4-9pm and being that I'm deaf, I didn't catch anything about breakfast being available (but I travel with food packed and usually don't eat breakfast). Also, the mini fridge is just a fridge- no mini freezer compartment (this was a bit of a bummer for me due to wanting to Refreeze my ice packs). I know previous reviews mentioned something about smoke in the casino. I could be wrong but I don't believe they allow smoking in the hotel or casino anymore. I did not smell smoke when I walked in. They also currently mask and temperature check upon in the entry way before entering the casino. (June 14, 2022). I did see that some people were smoking just outside the entry way, so they allow smoking on the grounds- just not inside. They also have a small gift shop and snack shop in the Casino area that I noticed. I did not explore enough to find out what other things they have there due to just being there to crash for the night. read more

This is an amazing hotel , clean room , quiet and the bathrooms nice and clean we also had a military discount . nice restaurant . Food is amazing we have free breakfast with the hotel reservation ( 2 eggs, has brown and toast or gravy and biscuits enough for me ) also you can add to your breakfast and paid the difference . Just remember this is also a casino and people allow to smoke ( only in the casino) . My room was smoke free :) read more

Restaurant is absolutely boring and bland as can be! Place is dead quiet, slow, and zero flavor! Tried several dishes hoping for something different but really it's low quality standard bar food. Even the "fry" bread came with partially frozen honey butter. read more

Worst payouts of any casino I've ever been at. Couldn't figure out why there were no people here but now I know why. Talked to a local who said they went bankrupt and recently re opened. I guarantee they will not last a year. Oh and food was horrible. Took me 30min to check in and I was the only person there. Ugh lesson learned. Also website says they have table games. My first impression was going in my room and it is infested with Flies buzz around the window like hundreds of flies dead and alive then the slot machines don't pay, you still need to wear mask like the rona just came out. I tried to use the vending machine and it won't except change so I went to the cashier and he wants to charge me a fee to cash quarters into dollars. read more

Wow! This is a good place! Hotel is top of the line!!! Bed and temperature was great! Bathroom was amazing. The casino didn't make us rich but Cory and Nancy were so nice to us that we didn't mind losing! They just got a license to serve alcohol which was great. I came here to try Native American cuisine (first time) and use the restroom. Ordered the small Indian Taco. The fry bread is delicious! It's the best part of the taco. On top, it's ground beef and cheese. You are given pre-packaged sour cream and pre-packaged salsa. I could tell the salsa is canned by the taste and look. I haven't had canned salsa in a long time. The cheddar cheese looked like it was pre-packaged as well. Overall the taco was tasty. Customer service was great. Everyone is polite and nice. And the ladies' restroom is clean. read more

Very wide open spaces. Nice atmosphere, great view of the mountains. Nice workers who are always smiling and seem to enjoy their jobs.

First understand I don't like casinos. My wife does so we stopped. It's small, and absolutely stinks inside because they allow smoking. There is a small non-smoking room with no good machines, and no people. Mostly penny machines and most people look like they shouldn't be spending their money. read more

About 5 miles from Lander. We had dinner at the restaurant twice. The food is quite good (it's a real restaurant, NOT a casino buffet) and the prices are quite low. Friendly staff. There were some problems at the salad bar, but they work hard to keep things supplied. Interesting food, such as choice of "regular" French dip sandwich or "Indian" version using fry bread; both are made with very good prime rib. Many menu choices. Snuggles & kisses strawberry ice cream is excellent and serving is generous. I want some NOW! read more

Had a wonderful stay here; great, reasonable rates and comfortable rooms with more amenities than you can find at most hotels with comparable pricing. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, and even provided us with a couple of complimentary gifts since our stay overlapped with the solar eclipse. We spent 3 nights at Shoshone Rose Hoteland and keep a great memory of our stay in the Wind River reservation. The hotel is pretty new and rooms are modern and comfordable. Staff is very welcoming and professionnal. Beside playing at the 24/7 casino or enjoying the pool, there are many thing to do in the area. We recommend to explore the reservation for natural and historical landmarks, and discover the Shoshone culture. Shoshone people have been increadibly kind during our stay. This place is certainly better than the Riverton casino, but it's not exactly a great place to play either. The staff are friendly and the machines are good. But if you sit down to play their 6 deck blackjack game, be prepared to only be dealt 3 out of the 6 decks, slowing the pace of play and worsening your odds. read more

I accidently got in on the soft opening of their new casino and hotel. Wow. Anyone who thinks that there is only one way to go to Yellowstone and also a casino, needs to discover this gem. You won't stop at Riverton again. If you have been here before, prepare yourself for a surprise. If you have not been here before, prepare to be pleased. This has always been a pleasant stop because the staff are friendly and helpful, but now it is, if not large, making an effort at being an upscale casino. It is like seeing a casino in Las Vegas or Reno, in miniature and it works. There is a fire pit and seating area both in the front of the restaurant and also one in the back by the pool. Yes, there is an actual indoor pool with large windows that open up to the outside and the fire pit and seating area. The hotel also has several one bedroom suites. You won't get that anywhere else in this corner of Wyoming. They over look the Wind River mountains and face East for coffee on the balcony.
