I have only got services to upkeep my Balayage, so I am prepared to pay. I like that they greet you (a front-desk area with things to purchase), offer you a beverage (champagne or beer), hot coffee, tea, juice or water. They have great stylists, and a room in the back for hair washing, drying and just spa-like relaxation. Make your appointment on their website and get ready to be pampered!

At scheduling time, the receptionist was very nice and worked with me to find a time that fits schedules well. I was scheduled with Michaela for a Halo face framing type situation and was greeted very kindly by her and everyone else at the front desk. They offer you water and other beverages there as you arrive. There is also local crafted jewelry in the sitting area to browse. Getting back to hair, Michaela was very personable, funny, nice, and professional. The experience was nice and it feels like you're just chatting with an old friend. Honestly I probably chat too much but the story of my life LOL. They take you back to the hair washing area which is quiet and Serene, ready for relaxation. They also offer you and I mask type essential oil situation where you can pick different scents. After your hair is done washing you get processed and then you go back to your sitting area. It took a little bit to get my hair to the desired look but Michaela and the salon made it very easy to work with and get the results we were hoping for. I appreciate them for being so accommodating and ease of everything. Michaela is a great stylist and I would recommend booking with her anytime! Not only will she make your hair look better but just speaking with her makes your day better too.

Joanna is a very talented stylist. I came to her after a particularly bad haircut somewhere else…read moreand she helped to make it look good while growing it out. I usually just ask her to do what she thinks will work best and it looks great after. To top it off, she is funny and has a big heart. She spent an amazing amount of time cutting my cousin's hair while she was in chemo helping to transition to when she would lose it all. She was meticulous and wanted to get it just right. Go see Joanna! You won't regret it.

I'll start by saying that Joanna obviously knows what she is doing and gives an excellent cut,…read moretechnically speaking. My work and schedule have changed and that meant that I needed to find a new stylist. I looked up reviews (she gets rave reviews) and then called and asked specifically if she worked well with curly hair (she said she was comfortable with curly hair) and let her know that my plan was to go from long, curly hair, to a long, curly pixie (short cut). Set the appointment. Got really excited! Arrived 20+ minutes early to have time to get a feel for things and make sure we had time to discuss the cut/plan. I barely had a consultation. Was in and out in less than an hour - super quick for such a major transformation. Ordered some curly cream to pick up the next day, and expressed some concerns about the sides still being really thick. Joanna said she would be available to fix any bits that bothered me. (Totally reasonable for there to be some things to adjust after playing with it - it was a big change.) When I called the next day to make sure I could pick up the curl cream and let her know I needed some adjustments with the bottom layer, she didn't have the curl cream (miscommunication between us) and didn't have an opening to fix my hair for a week. That felt like a long time to walk around frustrated and self-conscious about a transformation cut... but, I took it and worked with the cut. (Which now took more time to style than long, curly hair.) Then, on the morning of the fix appointment, Joanna texted early to say she needed to cancel and offered to reschedule... a week later. I offered to come any time during that day. But, she was double-booked all day. (I was going to be out of town - part of the reason I had really wanted to get it finished and be happy with it, since the events I would be going to were very picture-heavy.) I was so frustrated with her lack of commitment to me, as a customer, and with feeling like I couldn't trust her to take my experience seriously. I didn't take the next appointment offered. (It would have been 2 weeks since the original cut.) And eventually decided to find someone else to "fix" it. Joanna is super nice. I think she is likely very loyal to her longterm clients. Based on my experience, though, if you have curly hair or are looking for a very new "do", I can't suggest her. I never felt like my experience or my hair were her priority. What was a very exciting thing for me turned into something I had to have "fixed" by someone else. (Now, it's too short ... but it's not a blob on the side of my head, so that's cool.) I've paid for two haircuts. (Joanna's was the most expensive cut only + tip I've ever had). And I was too self-conscious to happily pose for pics on a really important day for our family. I really, really hate to leave a non-positive review for anybody. We all have bad days. But, this needed to be handled better and I don't want anyone else to go through it. Hair is a big deal. We need to trust the person messing with it.

Being Asian I have always…read morehad a bad haircut whenever someone who doesn't know Asian hair cut my hair, so I always waited until I visited family in New York to get my hair cut in Chinatown. Well I couldn't visit New York this past year and decided to go to Hitto, which is in a new location. I asked for an Asian hairstylist and got Bob. I showed him a few photos of the length I wanted and he went straight to work, washing then cutting my hair quickly. The cut turned out great! Loved the face framing layers and volume he gave me. He recommended curtain bangs and I am glad I trusted his judgment! Will definitely go back to Bob for my next cut!

Found Hitto Salon by searching for a "Japanese barber" on Yelp, and I was expecting that a…read moreprofessional barber would be able to do the haircut I wanted but I ended up leaving in disappointment. Had a 5PM appointment after calling earlier that day. There were 2 male barbers and 1 female one. The female 1, named Gina, was the one who did my haircut. None of them really made Hitto Salon welcoming; I felt like I was just another customer. My hair got a nice shampoo treatment but after that, Gina did not really take the time to understand the kind of haircut I wanted even after showing her a photo - a simple cut with a thicker top and more faded sides. Throughout the entire haircut, she barely said a word; the most silent treatment I got in a salon. She shaved the sides but the cut lacked the shape and care I got from other nearby salons. My wife said that the back part of my cut looks uneven, rushed. She used mostly the razor for shaving without the crafting of the scissors to shape my hair to its ideal form. She did not even use a mirror to show me the mess she made on the back of my head. It's worth noting that this was the 2nd time I got a haircut from Gina, the first being in another salon named Scissorhands. I didn't realize this until my wife later told me about it, and I initially thought she was someone who resembled her. If I knew this from the start, I would probably would have refused to get another haircut from her given how unprofessional she performed on my first haircut with her. At the end of the haircut, she styled my hair a bit with some kind of styling cream and hairspray but no amount of styling could hide the mess of a haircut she made.
