We had our 8-month-old puppy in DeAnn's Canine Good Citizen class. It was a fantastic experience,…read moremuch better than previous class at a big box store. DeAnn kept us all on track and emphasized the important skills, plus answered questions about other behaviors that we wanted to address. Definitely recommend this facility and this instructor!

I spent a week in a dog training seminar at 4 Paws. There were pros and cons to the facility…read more Pros: -This is a big space and depending on what type of needs you have, you could have 4 big rings or 6 small rings. -The people who manage the space, when I saw them, were friendly. -The bathrooms were clean. - There was bottled drinking water available. - There was a classroom area, we didn't use it, but it's great that it is available. - there is a huge outdoor area, nicely grassed for walking and playing with your dog on breaks. - well appointed with tons of dog equipment. Cons: - I'm probably going to say this one several times. The floors have a black mat overlay, which is better to walk on than concrete. BUT, I had to wash my white dogs EVERY DAY. Their paws, legs, skirting, and faces were dark grey. - The black flooring turned my pants black wherever it touched. - The dogs are breathing that black material as well as ingesting it when there is a treat that touches the ground. - One dog in my course left with Bronchitis. - we were wearing masks and still had black residue in our noses. Onward from how much I hated the flooring material. - I spent a shit ton of money for a 7 day training. During most of it there was banging and drilling and all sorts of noise because the facility didn't plan around the training, but rater opted to have maintenance or whatever done, during operating hours and during a time they had rented out the space. At times it was almost impossible to hear above the racket. - I felt this decision was incredibly disrespectful to our trainer and to those of us there for the training. I drove in for the training, as mentioned, paid a fair amount, and what I discovered is that I will never come back to this facility for another training, as the pros do not exceed the cons.

She transports…read moreto only no kill shelter and makes sure every animal gets spayed/neutered since she wants to make sure all animals are taken care of. My boyfriend and I recently adopted a small dog from here. Elly was a delight to deal with and we're super happy with our new addition. Be prepared to fill out a long application if you want to go through this agency, but it's well worth it. I mean we were more than happy to drive to Yakima and back (from Seattle) for our ne little puppy. The adoption "donation" is super reasonable and the dogs all seem to be happy and well cared for! If you're looking for a new addition to your family, this just might be the place for you.

She has been the most sensitive, smart, cooperative dog I have ever experienced--a joy of a dog. She is apparently--according to DNAmydog--part Australian shepherd, Australian cattle dog, and poodle. But I also believe she has a bit of lab, or St. John's dog, or Newfie in her. I cannot begin to find the words to say how much she was loved. We had to euthanize her yesterday, Sept. 10, 2021. I cannot find the words with which to thank Barks R Us, or at least not the right words, because there are no words to convey my gratitude, not completely. She changed my life--and nothing can ever be quite the same again, now that I've lost her. Thank you for bringing her to me.

I adopted a little dog from Kathy named " Giggles " about 13 years ago. I had seen her for adoption…read morehad instant connection We drove to Yakima to see her, and I will never forget that day! Kathy had us sit as she let the dogs out all they were mainly big dogs as we were watching a little white dog comes out from that pack full of confidence, Kathy asked us to just sit and watch as we did this little cute smart dog jumped on my grandson lap and started to lick him. It was love at first sight Kathy told us her background which was horrible, and our hearts melted. Kathy you were right in letting her pick us for she was extremely intelligent very sensitive and always remained loyal She brought us so much joy, she on her own would do tricks made us laugh and was so loving! Four months ago, she had a seizure took her to the vet after x rays etc. was diagnosed with bad heart valves, she was 13 and would not survive any medical interventions. We hung on to her while treating her with heart and pain meds for as long as possible without making her suffer but it came to a point where she was having more bad days then good and with her expressive eyes, she let me know. We had a vet that comes to your home for euthanasia she died peacefully on the couch at home. I just want to let you know the choice you made letting her adopt us was right she had a very good life and was much loved. Thank you, Kathy for Sophie " Giggles" who brought us years of joy! I feel compelled to write because I had a successful adoption from Lifesavers. We couldn't be more…read morelucky to have our dog in our house. Yes, before we were accepted, the operator was cold. She runs the organization on her own and as such, has to keep it short - she gets many requests a day after all. Additionally PUPPIES ARE A LOT OF WORK and most people don't realize the amount of time or effort they require to be good canine citizens. When we first picked up our dog, she needed to go outside about every two hours. That is a lot of work. Add in the amount of time we spent training and working with her? Tons of work. Countless hours. But now, when she goes to stay with our friends who also have the same breed, they are shocked by how well behaved ours is. But I reiterate, the amount of time, crazy. We were initially rejected because we lived in a condo, but I couldn't let it go. So I wrote back a very polite email that if she ever changed her mind, we'd take the pup. Eventually we heard back and over night, the operator changed. When we met her, she indicated that she'd received a lot of threats from people, had people turn out to be horrible adopters, and was simply very protective. While it was frustrating, I think it's important to understand the situation she is in as well. I've volunteered with other organizations since, and I now know that most people will not give a reason why they don't approve you because they don't want to insult or hurt the peoples feelings.
