I found Dr Shornick dismissive and lacking bedside manner. My issues we're chalked up to "aging" with no solutions.

Who does this???? 2 months later my pcp asked me who did that to your face and why did he not put stitches in?? I told her and she was angry. He was in a hurry obviously he didn't care at all. I hate that entire office and I will never set foot in there again.

I read their reviews and thought wow what a nice place and close to home. I went to visit the office today because my appointment is tomorrow and I wanted to make sure everything was in order for my appointment. When I arrived I was met with a confused stare and told the doctor I was scheduled for was not coming in tomorrow. Then Mary Anne looked again and said oh wait I think the PA will be here tomorrow. They also informed me that they don't have my Tricare referral yet. I sat down and called Tricare. I went through all the necessary steps to have the referral faxed again. While I was waiting on hold with Tricare I began to cough because I have a cold and I have a mask on to assure that I keep my cold to myself. Mary Anne at the front desk said Ma'am we can't see you tomorrow because you are sick and you are compromising all of our patients. I had a mask on and I just have a minor cold. I've had this cold for two weeks now and I'm at the end of it and just experiencing a dry cough because I didn't have water sitting there contacting Tricare over and over againShe was looking at me like I was a out break monkey or something. Mary Anne and Martha both laughed and talked about me while I was standing in front of them. Horrible customer service. I also don't understand why they don't have access to patients referral look ups. They make the patients do all of the work and threaten to not see you if you don't bring in a paper copy yourself. Well thanks Laura. K for the shout-out . I'm glad to hear you had a wonderful experience. I wish I could say the same. I'm updating my review because of my recent experience with this dermatology clinic. I must say that there are a few wonderful staff members there that treats their patients with respects and kindness. In fact I love my dermatologist there. He is always available for questions and help whenever you need it in a timely manner. My dermatologist recommended Fractora so I took his advice and scheduled a treatment. The day came for the procedure and I was late ‍. I was to arrive at 10:20am but I arrived at 10:30am. I was also standing in line waiting to check in until 10:40. The front desk staff members said sorry but we can't do your Fractora today because your facial numbing procedure will cut into our lunch time. We will schedule you for Monday. I got a phone call from them this morning and the staff member said "I'm sorry to inform you but we have to cancel your Monday appointment due to low inventory. You have a skin complexion that requires a special needle . We have limited stock because we don't get that much business from people with your darker skin type so we are not ordering any extra right now because it's not worth it. We will keep you on a waiting list that could take months to get you in. You should just look elsewhere or go to a place wherever the Navy moves you. Good luck".

Every other dermatologist in Connecticut has waiting list for months. Dr. Miller was able to get me…read morean appointment in a few weeks. That should be telling enough. The wait wasn't bad, but the examination was not at all thorough. She looked briefly at the problem areas and prescribed a medication but I'm not confident the issue will be resolved properly since she seemed dismissive of the issue and barely looked at the problem areas. She was in and out of the exam room in 3-5 minutes and only gave my upper body a quick, cursory screening. The biggest issue I experienced was with the staff. They called my prescription into the wrong pharmacy and said I wrote the wrong street, but the street they claimed I wrote doesn't even have a CVS. If they needed clarification, they should have called. The CVS they sent it to had a completely dissimilar street name. I am very dissatisfied with Dr. Miller's demeanor and level of customer service from the waiting room staff. I'm glad I have a follow up appointment already scheduled with a better reviewed and more reputable dermatologist.

Her degrading attitude towards her nurse assistant was something I hadn't experienced before, treated her downright rudely and in front of me. When she asked why I was here, she gave me the 'once over', used the liquid nitrogen on a couple of spots and was ready to leave when I asked her 'what about this at the back of my left ear'. She glanced at it and said, it's fine, nothing wrong there. I took her word for it and left. 3mths later I decided to get a 2nd opinion, biopsy results came back, positive for Basel Cell Carcinoma or in layman's terms, skin cancer. And this is why I write this? So that maybe, just maybe, Dr Miller won't be as flippant in the future with her patients, or treat them as she does her help, which is with complete disregard for the human in front of her.

The office was pristine and modern and I felt comfortable getting full skin exams. That being said, I'm extremely disappointed that she's closing the dermatology part of her business. This weekend I noticed a mile that was itching and bleeding and needed an appt ASAP. I called today and was told that she would no longer be taking dermatology appointments because "due to recent health conditions, Dr. Duke is closing the dermatology part of her practice." I asked out of confusion what the other half of it was, to which the receptionist replied "you know, like, Botox, juvaderm..." I'm disappointed that her priorities are misaligned and lie within the money and vanity aspect of her business rather than screening and preventing cancer. Now I'll have to find another dermatologist and wait weeks for a consultation, all the meanwhile having a suspicious mole.
