I went on youtube and sent Ramses the video describing it was the ignition switch rather than the starter motor. I said to him 'are you 100% sure it's only the starter motor'? His response was'yes'. Then he had my vehicle towed to Hyndai in Colma and they verified it was indeed the ignition switch. I never was billed for the starter motor Ramses installed, nor the towing that he paid for. I never heard back from him regarding his incorrect diagnosis.

Yeah, they do pull some gray business to save you money on insurance claims and they actually saved me about $1000 doing it. That said, the only two insurance companies they will work with to save you money on that level are USAA and Farmer's - because they pay up without trying to haggle on the back end. After rear-ending a very bad driver with my Saab in June of 2009, the aforementioned tow truck driver ran me down to Major Auto Body and I can tell you when I read these reviews I flipped the F out and micro-managed the crap out of the whole process. That proved to be wholly unnecessary. Joe over at Major took great care of my Saab. I got two new tires (my choice of brand), a new compressor, and a new front end for dramatically less than I expected to pay elsewhere. I have since recommended two friends to Major Auto Body and am bringing a third one down in about an hour to have her scraped door fixed for $300-$400 less than the "other guys" are quoting her around town. Oh and Yelp - if this positive review disappears, I'm taking screenshots. Please leave it in place.

Truck runs and looks like it was brand new. As far as customer service goes- Great job guys and thanks for the friendly/great service... Not sure why there are any bad reviews for this auto body shop... These guys made me feel like family and took great care of me. I know they are very good when it comes to providing a quality service but what happened yesterday and what they did for me was just AMAZING. Here is the scenario, My car broke down yesterday when driving on 101 North right before the Hillsdale Exit. Called my insurance and they contacted Stride Towing Company and they dispatched a tow truck. The estimated arrival time for the tow truck has 30mins-45mins. I called Jimmy in San Mateo Services and told him the scenario. I knew they will be closed by the time the tow truck arrives. He said that he will wait for me to bring my car. After good 2 hours there still wasnt any sign of the tow truck. i ended up calling my wife and had her contact AAA to send a truck (I am not AAA member but my wife is, and now i will signup for AAA membership as well). AAA tow truck arrives in time and tows my car and takes it to the shop. It was around 8:30PM and Jimmy was STILL THERE. i was very happy to see that. It is hard to find "Man of his Words" now a days. I dropped the car and told him that i will need the car by tomorrow morning as i had to go to work. Jimmy tells me that he will do his best to get it fixed ASAP. The price he gave me was very reasonable. This morning he called me at 8:30am and told me that my car was ready and to top it off HE DROPPED MY CAR AT MY HOME. I didnt even have to go to the shop to pickup the car. Customer Service doesnt get any better than this. I highly recommend friends, Family and Yelpers to go this auto shop when there is a need. The night before I brought my car in my car wouldn't start after work, so i towed it home. He wasn't in the day I brought my car in, I needed help, assuming everyone is capable and work as a unit, I entrusted my vehicle with a guy name Ivan to check my car out. He told me it's my alternator. I bought after maker used alternator that didn't work well, I bought a brand new sensor from Oreillys that didn't work either, so I ended up buying a brand new battery sensor from Honda, then i bought a brand new alternator from Oreillys and that didn't work either, so I ended up buying a brand new alternator from Honda, which cost around $700 I went to Honda twice, loved my experience there, it was expensive but I felt like they cared enough to educate you. Honda Colma, CA. I took several trips to Oreillys buying and returning parts. I even bought a brand new battery just because it's getting low anyway and that wasn't even part of the plan. So i ended up reconnecting with the Manager of this place named Juan, he ended up replacing the brand new honda alternator for me, to find out there's a burnt out fuse due to replacing alternators a few times, he took care of that, then he told me the "fuse box" needs to replaced, so we got that done too at the same time. all of this was happening back in late February, then March. I waited this long to write this review, for a reason, i wanted to know if something will go wrong again. About 2 weeks ago, I was at the gas station and my car wouldn't start, maybe because i left the key in the ignition even though my car was off, so i got it jump started at the gas station, everything was fine. I was told by the mechanic of this place to bring it if it happens again. Last Friday i was out of town at the gas station again, my car wouldn't start, so i waited for maybe 5 min, and it started. this morning, it won't start, i asked my neighbors to jump start and it wouldn't do anything, it has the clicking noise everyone tells me it's the starter. I called the manager of this place like hey, I've mentioned this to you guys twice, did you guys not check the starter and he said no, and there's no way to check it. I'm just over this place, i'm asked to go back there next morning, but F that, I - 0% trust this place now, i'm going to 415 mechanix at this point, they have been so helpful with me on the phone. After they read this, I hope they learn, and educate themselves even more, because there's too much back and forth. 415 mechanix had fixed my starter for me, really nice guy, honest and direct, with communication skills, I suggest that place. Andy is the owner and he's great. I'm never going back to this place, I was patient for as long as I could, I was calm, but i'm better off elsewhere.
