Stopped by to pick up some fresh Maine lobster at $8/lb. Lady who picked the lobsters out of the tank got their weights spot on...takes experience! I found the cashier and lobster lady to both be helpful and polite. If it was my restaurant I would definitely do something to enhance the decor and dining experience...from other people's reviews the food sounds fantastic, but the eating area, with an open window to kitchen and open doors to the fresh fish area, linoleum floors, cheap plastic tables and chairs leave a lot to be desired in terms of ambience. A coat of paint in cheerful colors, some wall decor and fun plateware would make a world of difference. read more

we ordered three coffees to start she brought one spoon and one napkin for three people ! my hash browns were not cooked my moms sandwich didn't have an egg my egg was scorched and my dad's pancake was burnt! I took the sandwich up to the counter to get her egg and I see the cook eating off my returned hash browns before throwing them back into the fryer! she argued that mom didn't order an egg on her egg sandwich ! she got mad when i said something! Angel the owners sister didn't charge us! the other person had a bad attitude! The prices are outrageous! so disappointed! I won't be back! it was empty when we went at 9:30. I can now see why! This review isn't based on food.. we walked in 25 minutes before closing and was told that it will take 45 minutes to an hour for food. So, we walked out. The guy at the counter seemed overworked and miserable.. we understand, everywhere you go, restaurants are short staffed but this was not the kind of response we were expecting hence the 2 stars. The review is based on their pizza, which we've gotten several times. it's delicious. Best to ask for extra sauce if you like sauce, as that would be the only complaint, if any. Stopped because it was rainy and we wanted some chowder. I ordered the clam chowder and my daughter the seafood chowder. My husband the crab cake basket. When I inquired about the base of the chowder the waitress stated it was made with half and half. Came out looking good,buttery on top, that's where it stopped. Watery, and no flavor. It did have lots of clams in it but they were gritty. My daughter said the same about hers, she ended up taking it home to see if she could made hers edible so she didn't waste her money My husband ended up giving me his crab cake basket. Do not waste your time. Absolutely awful. $30 for a scallop dinner consisting of maybe 4 scallops cut in quaters, overcooked, a handful of fries, and some coleslaw. A picture is worth a thousand words. It's too bad because I wanted to like this place. I regret giving the tip for takeout. read more

Unfortunately during our visit it was pretty busy and short staffed. We waited about 45 minutes for our food, but I give these guys a 8/10. It was totally out of their control when it came to staffing. When we DID get our food, it was hot and fresh and SO yummy. I haven't had a better Reuben. The club had nice thick sliced Turkey and my youngest really enjoyed the popcorn chicken. Crabcakes did not seem to be homemade, but they were still pretty darn good. Excellent lobster roll! We've had them from 5 or 6 different places this trip and this one might have been the best. The lobster meat was the most tender we've had, it came with fries and coleslaw (both of which were good), the roll was perfectly toasted and buttery, and it was one of the most reasonably priced. I really don't want to have to write this.. This establishment acts like they don't care about much. They have attitude , especially if you're not a local. This was my 3 rd try and struck out each time. my last order was a lobster roll with butter. That's it. 45 minute wait. Ended up with a hotdog roll that had been grilled but cool and soggy with very cold lobster with zero butter. $26 and change. My husband gave up here a year ago and I have kept going back for more mediocre food , over priced and terrible attitudes. I'm done. Sure wish Lubec would get some competition in this town because this business would be history. Such a shame for a beautiful, friendly town. read more

Really good! My husband and I stopped here after visiting Campobello Island. It's a short 3-5 minute drive from the bridge. We both ordered the Lobster Roll Baskets that came with about a 1/3 lb roll with fries and slaw. We knew it was going to be good when we heard the fries hit the oil cracking and popping. :) Fresh hot fries, cold chopped slaw and really fresh lobster on a folded slice of thick cut toast. Lobster was cooked perfect. Tasted great! Staff was nice and friendly. I peeked in the kitchen and it was clean as a whistle. Nice! Bill with tip was $46. We brought in our own bottle of water. Typical bill for the coast and what we ordered. However they could put a just bit more lobster in their rolls and maybe spiff up the atmosphere a bit other than that I f your in the area it's well worth a stop. read more

Been through this place many times in my life as I hike in Lubec and nothing is every open. Every time I've been in here the staff tries to discourage you from ordering food. Typical downeast service, after being discouraged your are told anything you order is not available. I've ordered fish and chips many times, they've never had fish or French fries at this Fish Market. I hope the owners know the staff doesn't want to sell food. The grocery store is right down the street if you have no potatoes. One time I successfully ordered food there and it was a cheeseburger no fries because they were out, it took 1 hour lol. read more

Thank goodness for a take out option in Lubec in the summer of 2020! Fast, friendly, clean, walk-up service. Lobster rolls with a generous portion of lobster meat, light mayo, grilled New England style hot dog roll, no shenanigans. I requested mine without the roll and had the same (maybe slightly more) lobster on a bed of iceberg. The fries were batter coated, so not gluten intolerant-friendly. Would have preferred hand cut fries, clean. The cole slaw was quite good, not too sweet and chopped well (I'm easily annoyed by large pieces of cabbage in my slaw ) They did have a sign listing a few flavors of Hood ice cream. We did not investigate that closely. White board menus listed a chicken wrap and mushroom and swiss burger special along with the usual fried seafood and sides options. Not certain if this menu is the same as non-CoVid times, but did have quite a few choices. I suspect the seafood fare remains a constant with new specials now and again based on the menu layout. Several other, seemingly local, patrons - which for us is a good sign! Reasonably priced for the area and OPEN for business using state mandated precautions from our vantage point. My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch after hiking and the folks serving us were very kind and helpful. My husband's fish and chips were excellent and the portions were generous. I enjoyed my steak and cheese sandwich very much and the small size was plenty. I appreciate that they have so many non-seafood choices. The dining room was clean and cool on a hot day. This is more like a convenience store that has an area to sit down and eat some seafood. The scallops, fish and fries were above average. The seafood was obviously fresh which is always a plus. Once we found Shore Thing, we had breakfast here every day! You can't beat the prices, and the food and coffee are very good! The staff is friendly, and I ended up meeting more cousins here (my Mom was from Campobello) than on the island. Two eggs over easy with corned beef hash was my usual. We did have lunch here on the way home and the fish tacos - actually a taco salad bowl with lots of fish bites - was very good!
