giving one star because i can't give 0 the second we walked in it was super loud, then they added mid live music on top of it, it was seat yourself which is fine but there were no menus or silverware in sight, and barely any servers checking on customers, had to go up to the bar ourselves to finally get a drink order in, finally had someone come over to take our order, which they got wrong, waited over an hour for the food to come out, we were about to call it quits, pay for our drinks, and leave, when we tried to pay they tried to make us pay for our full $200 bill even tho we didn't get our food, immediately after our food came out so we decided to give it a shot, terrible, we could tell all of it was either frozen or microwaved ps. we saw a cook take carrots off the top of a salad with gloveless hands and eat them, the proceed to serve it to a customer read more

My husband and I came in for dinner at about 6:00 this evening. There were very few customers. We ordered a burger and a bowl of soup. We also got some drinks which were served to us quickly. We waited for over an hour and did not get served our meal. We asked the waitress a couple of times where our meal was and she told us at least twice that our meal would be out shortly. We continued to wait and it never came. So we went to the bar to pay and told the waitress that we would just pay for our drinks and leave. I asked why we were never served and she didn't say anything. No apologies no nothing. It was our one and only visit to this restaurant. read more

Quaint and casual bar restaurant. Old Sow has daily specials and generous portions. The seafood was had a nice flavor with a white wine sauce. There is a bar side and with nice weather it is a great place to grab a drink. Staff are friendly and check on you. read more

Old Sow has won our hearts! Two nights in Eastport--two dinners. --so good. Fish and chips is so fresh--both the fish and the chips! Others had the Mac and cheese and the rueben. All good! Service was snappy tonight--the waitperson was a sweetie. Can't go wrong here. read more

I arrived at 5:30 and I am writing this review at 7:30. My fiancée ordered a medium rare filet and I ordered a medium. She received hers and mine was not put in yet. But that's okay, because hers was raw. We asked for it to be cooked more since we were still waiting on my filet. Then they both came out and my medium was raw and hers was the same as when we sent it back. Sent them both back and they came back well done. In the meantime many folks who came in much after us received their food and finished it and I am still waiting. My fiancée ate her well done filet (well some of it) because she was so hungry. I couldn't do it so I ordered a burger. And 20 minutes later and still haven't received it. Also the baked potato was not cooked. Interestingly the flavors were good on all the food but the service and ability to cook a steak and baked potato was horrible. We were generally ignored most of the evening by the wait staff. When we did engage the staff, they were very pleasant but never initiated any engagement from having to ask for a menu to sharing about the terrible steak. Well at least I had enough time to write this review and I am still waiting on a burger. Over two hours and waiting, but at least I am on vacation and have no where to go. ‍ read more

Was there 7/12/22. Waa really looking forward to fresh seafood. Waited over an hour for our food. Hardly saw waitress in that time. Food came and it was gross. Haddock had no taste and then the foam ceiling was falling in our food and on us. Disgusting!!! Brought it to staff and owners attention and they laughed at us. Lovely waterfront restaurant with outside seating. Beer and sandwiches on a hot day as we watched people walk along the waterfront. Great location. Our waitress was friendly and very professional. I would recommend this to anyone for lunch. read more

Had dinner here a couple of times while away for a long weekend. Depending on what you get, food is hit or miss. Reuben was good as were the wings, Seafood Chowder and Lobster Roll were just ok. Service was slow, 2 hr wait, but not the fault of staff. Staff shortage due to COVID recovery. Also, only place open fir dinner on Sat night, so everybody is there. In spite of this, staff was attentive and apologetic, handled the pressure with a smile. They work hard. read more

I hate to give a bad review to a restaurant but this place was especially terrible. The service was the slowest I have ever received. We had a party of 10 and it took 20 minutes to get beer orders. At that time the waitress stated the soda machine was out of service and being worked on and the people who ordered soda were left without drinks until they had to ask for water themselves about 45 minutes later. We ordered food and drinks at the same time and it took atleast 1 hour and 15 minutes to be served meals. One person never received his meal until after everyone else had finished and the waitress still attempted to charge him for the mediocre fish and chips served. Once everyone was finally finished it took about an additional 35 minutes to receive our checks(probably 3 or 4 separate checks). This really put me over the edge and I was infuriated to have to make this long wait. The waitress was quite rude and disappeared a lot throughout our visit even though she did not seem busy. A lot of times I can understand if a server is busy and a small apology goes a long way, but the waitress did not apologize or make any sincere effort to make our experience enjoyable or even tolerable. Overall, the beer was good, the place seemed clean, food was ok but service was really really horrible. I will never return to this restaurant again but I hope they change their serving staff to one much more attentive and polite. read more

Worst service ever, we had a party of 8, drinks came out 1 or 2 at a time with a wait between each drink. Food order took a very long time and served one at a time to 4 of us. We waited around 20 minutes hoping the other orders would be brought out and finally started to eat cold food before everyone received their order. The 5th order finally arrived and the waitress told us that the cooks left and the 3 final orders couldn't be served, she actually asked us if we wanted the undelivered orders removed from our bill. We were unable to get water refilled after requesting refills. The food was cold from waiting and average tasting. This was totally unacceptable to not serve everyone. The owner NEVER apologized and made no attempt to give any restitution. A discount and apology would have helped. This is my first time giving a poor review and the last time I will ever go back to this restaurant. read more
