Note: the "mall" is outdoors, a brick paved plaza stretching along multiple blocks - a result of reclaimed former street space. I smelled the wonderful scents before I saw the store. It's on the lower level of a historic building. You access via stone steps, descending partly below the street level. Inside is a treasure trove of delightful bath and body product, mostly from APOE. There are other maker products there, such as my favorite Tokyomilk perfumes, and there are comfy fluffy bathrobes and such. Staff were wonderful. I was able to pick up an excess monthly subscription box of their products, which I was super happy about. Definitely worth the trip to downtown.

Tucked away in an industrial complex at the Cape May Airport is this actual soap factory with a…read moresmall retail space. It's here that they make amazing olive oil based soaps, shampoo bars, bath salts and sugar scrubs. They will slice off a piece of any soap you want at your request, any the sugar scrub bar is fun! The staff are pleasant and informative, though they gave me space to explore rather than hovering. Lastly, I met Gandalf the Multicolored Parrot, who said hello enthusiastically and also bye bye. The owner told me she was lonely at home and here she gets to chat with everyone. They have a retail space in downtown Cape May also. I always wonder if a product really is locally made - in the case of A Place on Earth it definitely is. I'll be back next time I'm in town.

The makeup artist worked with me to give me exactly what I was looking for. Megan, who did my hair, helped me come up with a completely new hair idea as I planned to wear it down and it rained all day so that wasn't possible. We got married on the coldest, rainiest, most windy day in April and my hair held the whole day - all of our did (even my mom who insisted on having her poker straight hair curled and worn down).
