I've been coming to this little gem of a shop for a number of years now and love it. The custom bath oil is what draws me in , but I always find something wonderful besides that. This time in, in the first week of October, the young lady in the shop helped me at the bar. They had some seasonal scents for the oils/lotions so I tried the Pumpkin Spice - wonderful! So two o=bottles of bath oil; Pumpkin Spice and Dune Grass (my usual). I also picked up the most adorable trinket mini-dish with a bat in a jar on it, and a large bottle of Greenwich Bay autumn Collection body lotion. The store is cute, a bit tight, but smells heavenly!! Prices are what you would expect to find in a Cape May boutique. Grab the bunner slippers if you're there - they have stayed soft and warm, through many washings, for 3 years now! read more

Bottom Line: Soaps, robes, PJs and a custom blending bar all surrounded by beautiful displays. A lot of the stores on the Washington Street Mall start to mix together in my head but I can't forget the distinct displays and niche products of Bath Time. As the name implies they carry lots of soap, body wash, robes and other scented goodies to make life a little more luxurious. Their wall of soaps, some even made by small business in the United States, was quite impressive. I also thought the custom Cape May Blends counter was a unique touch. Cape May Blends consists of various products including lotions, exfoliating scrubs, shaving gel, body mist, linen and room mist and bath salts. They have lots of scents to choose from including florals, fruits, woodsy, herbals and other fresh scents. I was going to go out with a baseball bat and start hitting people in the head, but that's "Bash Time" or "Bat Time" and this is not that. Oh well. Bath time is a super cute little store in Cape May. It has exactly what you would think. Lots of overpriced bath stuff which is really adorable. Absolutely wonderful service and my girl loved it in here. It would get 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that it burns a hole in the pockets, but it's in the middle of a tourist area so what would you expect. read more

Not even kidding. This is one of my favorite shops EVER!!! If you are visiting Cape May or passing through, you HAVE to stop here. You seriously will not regret it. Besides carrying really awesome bath products like soaks, salts and soap throughout the shop, there is a "build your own fragrance blending bar" there are TONS of different scents and fragrances for you to choose between and create your own. What I love is that you can also choose which vessel you'd like your created scent in. You could select a body mist, perfume, room spray, roll on, essential oil & more. The best part is the staff are so helpful, patient and caring. They help make recommendations based on the types of scents you like (beachy, floral, musky, etc) and they have no problem mixing different blends up until you are 100% satisfied. A lot of items are over priced. If you look, the store is filled with a lot of products that have a lot of unnecessary ingredients. I have been wanting to come here during my past couple of visits. I must say, the large rubber duckies in the window are adorable. FINALLY, I came in for a visit because my boyfriend and I were terribly sun burned from the Memorial Day weekend. We forgot to travel with a high quality lotion/aloe. My four star rating turned into a three because this was the most unfriendly staff out of all of the boutiques I have visited while on Cape May. I needed a wet wipe, and the woman behind the counter had provided one. I have to say, it was kind of her. Although, really helped her to make a sale because how was I going to try the different lotions to make a decision? She had also given me a look after I thanked her nicely, and tried to explain to her why my hands were filled with sand. I have a lot of allergies, and I am mindful of the ingredients that are in the products I purchase. I stood by the custom bottles of lotion for about ten minutes, and did not receive ANY HELP. Of course, someone else came in, and immediately they were asked if they needed assistance. While I was paying for the Earl Grey lotion, I had asked the gentleman behind the counter a question about the ingredients that are in one of their custom lotions, I felt that he gave me a huge attitude. Acted as if I was an inconvenience for even asking. Such a shame because I probably would have spent at least four times as much as I did if they would be helped, or would have been personable. read more

I loved bath time. Certainly try their soaps in the back which are freshly cut. I purchased a soap, and the experience was so cool. My soap smells delicious, and I have not broken out from it (I am allergic to most soaps, this one claimed to be all natural, which seems to be true). Rude employees! I loved this store. I visited two years in a row. I wanted to make my own fragrance in a roller bottle. The girl helping me was so uninviting & seemed annoyed every time I asked for something else. When I did make a decision on a scent, I heard her say to her co worker how disgusted she was that she was covered in Amber. I even tried to joke with her & she didn't crack a smile. I stopped in the next day to purchase more gifts and found another male employee even more rude than the night before. I was so shocked at his demeaning tone, I just left without buying anything. Here's a thought: if you hate customer service in a busy store, go work somewhere else. I won't ever be returning here. read more

Walked in during a recent trip to Cape May. Was drawn by the sign that said "create your own fragrance." Now the last thing I need is more cologne. I have a ton of it but only wear 2 or 3 regularly while the others side idle. It sounded cool and I wanted to check it out without intentions of buying anything. That was until I started talking to the girl behind the counter. OMG, she was AWESOME. I wish like hell I could remember her name. Nose was pierced and that's about all I can remember. She was so helpful and clearly took lots of pride and enjoyed her work. After chatting for a few minutes we concocted something that smelled like sweet vanilla and tobacco with a hint of coconut. She also said that they could duplicate just about anything I brought in to them. I was going to take her up on it and walked in with a bottle of my favorite Tom Ford scent. Sadly, there was a different girl there and I left. I will definitely return next time I'm down there. Great store with a really great employee. Wish I could remember her name. Damn. read more

Poor customer service!!!! I was there 07/10/15. It is a very cute shop from the outside and I saw that you could create your own scent. I walked into an empty store because the store had just opened. One older male worker was filling an order and was basiclly too busy to answer my questions. He seemed annoyed and called over a younger male worker to help me. I was asking alot of questions and he didn't seem too keen on doing his job. I bought a custom made body spray and wld have bought more had there been btr customer service and more explanation on their products.Great location but the staff needs a class on how to treat customers!! read more

I visited this store on a recent trip to Cape May. I stumbled upon it while just walking along Washington Street mall and I'm glad I did. It is such a cute store and has many fragranced soaps and body products. What drew me in the most was the fragrance bar where you can create your own fragranced lotion, soap, Etc. Michael was the gentleman that assisted us at the fragrance bar and he helped us to create a combination of four different essential oils that produce a scent I loved. His expertise and suggestions we're very helpful. In addition, he wrote down the combination of oils I used to create my product and told us that we can order online and have it shipped to our home which is great. When I return to Cape May I will definitely come back to this store. read more

What a lovely shopping experience while on vacation in Cape May! This shop has a wonderful selection of all things bath related as well as GREAT gifts in a wide price range (something for everyone). I've gone here and have spent a lot of money for many years. This year the employees were friendly, but the man mixing the bubble baths and gels didn't add enough of the scent to even give a smell. I gave products to 3 people (whom I've given to every year). All of them were very disappointed. I'm planning on ordering stocking stuffers... but it will not be anything that needs to be mixed. NEVER AGAIN WILL I SHOP THERE! I have purchased products over the years from Bath Time Cape May and was very happy doing business with them. Unfortunately I had an experience that changed my opinion . I purchased shower gels and body lotions as well as soaps for several of my close friends to celebrate a reunion. I called Bath Time up and placed the order as I don't live near them . It was nicely packaged and arrived on time . However I was surprised when my friends opened the shower gels and lotions and there was no scent in any of the products. I had requested the white tea and sage scent which I have had in the past and know what to expect. I called the following Tuesday and spoke to a gentleman after reviewing my order he said the shower gels and body lotions did have the scent White Tea and Sage. I said besides me, my friends could not smell any fragrance... further adding we all can't be wrong . He told me that in the future I should request "doubling the strength of the scent." I told him in the past I never had to request that and the product was fine. He seemed indifferent to my concerns by repeating the order was filled with the correct scent as requested. I am not going back to them. I now shop at a Place called Earth located in the Mall underneath the Christmas Store. read more

I love bath time. I have come here every year, for several years now, and just last year I tried the fragrance bar. It is amazing! You can make new scents, and put them into great products! They aren't too expensive, if you factor in that you are making it smell however you want to, but compared to lush, their bath fizzes are a lot cheaper. The people there were so nice helping me, and telling my good mixtures, and of course letting me make my own unique scent! It was a great experience, and I hope I go back soon. read more

My family and I stop here every year to pick up a bunch of the great bath products available. I love their face cleansing wipes, and I bought extra green tea ones since I tend to go through a package of them very quickly. I was super excited to find out they have a website so I can order stuff from them even while I am up north. The store smells amazing, and everyone working there is super helpful with finding products and matching customers to scents. They have a ton of things from bath products to face cleansing products to candles and soap dishes. This store always has something I am willing to buy, and I intend on visiting next time I am in Cape May. I highly recommend a visit for any bath product enthusiast. read more
