She spends time to get to know you and when you leave there is a feeling of "someone cares" that is with you. Her office is usually full which I recommend to be a patient person because everyone gets the same great exam as you will. Currently she is not accepting new patients which I suspect is because she does not wish to cut her time away from the patients she already has. Her Staff is cordial and always knows who I am and very efficient. For new patients there is a NP that I have not met but if she works with Dr. Sahay you know she is a caring person with great skill.

Unlike her predecessor, she took the time to know me and the status of my current physical condition. She referred me to a surgeon who performed a procedure that had a positive life-altering impact on me. Be prepared to wait because she spends time with her patients...which is a good thing and rare these days. You don't get treated like cattle there. It is a low-budget operation though. Frequently the computers are running slow, but the exam rooms are kept neat and clean. I only have two complaints: 1. It's too hot in the waiting room 2. Some of the other patients arrive with very bad body odor and/or reeking of smoke Don't come here looking for pain pill prescriptions. They won't put up with your shit! They no longer take NEW NJ Family Care patients.

She called Dr. Cristal's office to obtain a prescription for a urine test because she was scheduled to go for a routine blood test that day and wanted to also do the urine test at the same time. She spoke to the doctor directly. He asked why she wanted that test and she explained why. She also said maybe she should go to a Urologist. Dr. Cristal asked when her appointment was...she stated she didn't have one...she wanted to discuss this option with him. Dr. Cristal then told my mother to make an appointment with a Urologist and then have that doctor call him....and hung up on her! No prescription for a urine test, no recommendation for a Urologist, he didn't even ask her if there STILL was blood in her urine! He is located in Toms River...I am in northern New Jersey...but I will be meeting with him to discuss his treatment of my mother. In the meantime...if you are looking for a good doctor...avoid Dr. Ruben Cristal.

Either they don't get passed onto the Dr or he chooses to just ignore them. The Dr. also has a short fuse with his temper so bedside manner is not something I think he even cares about. Bottom line is there are many way better doctors out there I am happy I left when I did. Maybe he just has so many patients he just does not care about losing some but never in my life have I met a doctor with an attitude or such a terrible bedside manner as he has. they also need to find someone a little more responsible to answer the phone and take messages but my guess is they don't care about that either. Good luck Ruben, keep on practicing medicine like this and you'll have plenty of time to yourself to work on that bedside manner and return patients phones calls yourself.

I have two friends that had that same procedure done about a year and a half ago, and they both went there and said very positive things. In the interim some friends that I spoke to said that they would never go to Community for various reasons. My experience !! It was seamless. We pulled up to the entrance and somebody was right there to valet our car, I was directed to the lab area, and had all my tests done, it was so easy. I met a nurse there I believe her name was Liz and she was so friendly and comforting. But from the time I checked in at the desk to the time I left everybody that I came in contact with was wonderful!! I had my surgery on February 26th and I went home on February 27. From start to finish it was a very pleasant experience. I just now wish that I hadn't been afraid to do it and I put it off for way too long. My Dr is Dr.Nugent and he is absolutely the best. So absolutely no complaints if I had to do it over again I would certainly go to your hospital. Thank you everybody for making me so comfortable and reassured!!! you are a very special group of people ! Kathy Winch.

It was a brutal five day stay of poor decisions that increased her pain and discomfort. The nurses were kind, but frustrated with orders that did not make sense for her care. The care was neglectful and badly handled. The only true practical help we received was from the hospice care nurses who helped us a better care plan for mom. I felt the doctors wanted to prove they could fix an unfixable problem. Be prepared to advocate for yourself if you must go there. Definitely, not the hospital it used to be.

A Tribute to an Outstanding Physician, Dr. Vinay Sikand,…read more It is not often in life that we meet someone whose kindness, skill, and dedication leave a lasting mark on our hearts. Dr. Vinay Sikand is one of those rare individuals. From the very first day of my hospitalization, it was clear that this was not just a physician treating patients -- this was a healer caring for people. Dr. Sikand listens with compassion, speaks with wisdom, and acts with integrity. In moments of uncertainty, he offers not only answers, but reassurance. In times of difficulty, he brings comfort and hope. His knowledge and technical expertise are matched only by the gentleness with which he delivers care. For every patient, Dr. Sikand gives his time, his attention, and his heart. He reminds us that medicine is not just about science, but about humanity -- about seeing the person, not just the illness. On behalf of all whose lives you have touched, thank you, Dr. Sikand, for your tireless commitment, your steady guidance, and your unwavering compassion. You are more than a doctor --I felt a great sense of confidence and comfort that I was going to be ok in your presence. Other doctors told me the same and I cried thinking the worst. You are a blessing, and the world is better because of you. Thank you so much for the outstanding care you gave me during my recent hospitalization at Community Medical Center. With heartfelt appreciation, Samantha Thibodeau
