The store clerks are very cordial and the postal staff are terrific. Apparently, they'll be relocating to the space vacated by Food Basics. I'm looking forward to the expansion. The hand cream that she was using wasn't healing a thing. I found one brand that seemed promising while doing some research online. The site said that it was available at this particular Shoppers Drug Mart. The store was conveniently on my way home from work. Then again, I cut across most of the GTA, so I pass by a ton of stores! This store is in a plaza. There seemed to be a Food Basics or some green-painted grocery store that has closed down. Shoppers Drug Mart is in the corner further down. The parking area can be a bit chaotic. It's an older plaza and the lanes are more narrow than what I'm used to in suburbia. This store has been here for a while. It has everything that you'd expect it to have, including a grocery aisle. I walked every aisle and could not find the hand cream that I was looking for, which was disappointing. However, there was a Gold Bond one that was on sale. It has been approved by the Canadian Diabetes Society. It has proven results. It was also on sale. I bought it! I dropped the cream off at my parents' place. My mom said that she would try the hand cream out immediately. This morning, I spoke to my mom. She said that three hours later, she noticed a huge difference. She no longer has cracked hands. Nice! She asked me whether she could pay me back. Hearing her say that this product works is all that I wanted. The lone cashier at this store was friendly and made sure that each customer was okay. She helped out a senior ahead of me. I liked the care that she showed and the help that she gave. I'd come back here again when I'm in the area. (157)

I typically don't suffer from cracked lips. However, the corner of my mouth was dry and cracked. I needed some Vaseline. I didn't have any on me during my road trip. So, I stopped by this store. I was thinking that a small jar would be fine. The crazy thing is that the large 375 g jar was 50% off and was the same price as the smaller tub. I went with the large tub because that's how I tick. The clientelle tends to be older. There was an older woman who was paying for her purchases. The cashier was cheery and helpful towards this customer. It was refreshing. She was patient. I wasn't in a rush, so I liked witnessing the conversation between the two of them. When it was finally my turn to pay for my tub of Vaseline, the cashier thanked me for waiting. What wonderful customer service! I was pleased with my purchase and was thrilled that it was on sale. The tub is in my glove compartment, as I have the same sized tub at home. My cracked mouth corner has since vanished. Vaseline works, folks! (237)

The pharmacy in this location is good, the women who does my blister packs (my medication) is amazing! She is friendly, and goes over & above to make sure that everything goes properly and to make sure you get what is needed! The rest of the pharmacy staff seem nice as well and they are always helpful. I used to love the makeup section at this location but now their is new management in beauty and it's very different. I don't feel as welcomed as before, a couple of the ladies who work in that area are nice but a few don't seem to care and never have a smile on their face, including the manager, she seems like she hates her job and it reflects her work.. it's sad that the store has gone down hill.

I immediately went into planning mode to send her off on a cheerful note. Setting up where we were going to eat for her farewell was easy. I had bought the perfect greeting card while I was in the Twin Cities. She is an avid reader. I had pooled funds from our department towards an Indigo gift card. I needed to get the gift card. I was flying back to Toronto from Minneapolis. Had my flight been on time, it would have arrived at 7 pm in Mississauga. By the time I fetched my car from my workplace's parking lot and headed to the nearest Indigo, I would have made it before it closed at 9 pm. My flight was delayed by 1.5 hours. I tossed out plan. Thanks, Air Canada! I always have at least one backup plan. You truly do, especially when Air Canada is a part of it. Plan B was to hit the nearest Shoppers Drug Mart (SDM) and get a gift card. From my workplace, I am fortunate that I have three SDM stores to choose from. However, considering that it was nearly 10 pm, the choice was obvious. I drove over to this one in Rockwood Mall. Why do I love this store already? It's open till midnight. My usual SDM that I frequent closes a lot earlier. I had no problem heading over here. It's roughly a five-minute drive from my workplace. There was plenty of parking available and it was fairly busy on a Tuesday evening. I backed into a parking spot and walked into the store. This store is designed like most SDMs. You walk in and the beauty boutique is right in front of you. I didn't need to focus on my beauty after having travelled back. Okay, maybe I did and I chose not to. I needed a gift card. Luckily, I found the gift cards immediately. They tend to be by the greeting cards. I picked up one and then browsed around the store a bit. I was happy to see Squishmallows. There weren't a lot of them. However, they were so cute that it didn't matter. I looked at vitamins, shampoo, and the food aisles. This store has a nice selection of bread. Maybe the folks in this neighbourhood love carbs. The bread varieties were definitely better than what I get at my local SDM. I lined up to pay. There was only one cashier. Another female staffer came over and said that I could use the self-checkout kiosk. I said that I had a gift card. Could I activate it at a kiosk? She said yes. Cool! In the past, I was always told that a cashier could only specify the amount on a gift card and activate it. This woman was awesome. She stepped me through everything. I loaded $150 on the card and paid with a debit card. Done! I thanked the nice woman. She was great. I headed to my car and drove to a hotel nearby work. It was so late that I opted to say in Mississauga. It would make my commute to the office the next day easier. The gift card worked without a hitch. My friend was ecstatic to get it. All ends that ends well, as the saying goes. I appreciate that this SDM was open. It played a huge part of my planning my friend's parting gift. I'd return when I'm back in the area and need something at this store. The hours and staff are awesome. (365)
