I shop at this particular Shoppers Drug Mart a couple times a month. Usually because I have run out…read moreof grapefruit juice (which I need to take with a medication) and they're one of the two pharmacies within driving distance to my house that carries this particular juice. Tonight, the juice was $5.99 which is a little steep, but I'm used to paying that much for it at Shoppers so, that's fine. What I took exception to was the full price juice with an expiry date within the same week ( i.e. good until December 10). It takes me two weeks to go through 2 L of juice, therefore only half of it was going to be consumed by the best before date. I asked the cashier (who was very polite) if they could check and see if there was juice with a better freshness date - and if not, if it could be discounted. He phoned his supervisor....No and no. I told him that that's fine but I want them to know they lost a pretty good customer because of their non customer-centric policy. What I didn't mention (because it was only the cashier I spoke with) - every time I walk into their store I walk out with about $60-$80 typically worth of products but I'll be taking future business to Rexall from now on. I prefer Shoppers to Rexall (because of selection) but Rexall excels in customer service and I have no doubt this would have been handled differently by Rexall (they would have discounted it by 50% and apologized for the oversight because old juice should automatically be discounted).

I'm surprised this place is rated so low. I've been coming here infrequently for a couple years,…read moreand this is definitely among the nicest (and cleanest) Rexall locations I've visited. It sounds like the people who wrote the 1-star reviews had an axe to grind against the managers (maybe for not fulfilling their every whim, perhaps?). As I have said in other reviews, I never expect people to cater to me, nor do I sympathize with people who expect to be given preferential treatment if they're essentially loitering in a store. This Rexall is quite an interesting place for the sole reason that it stocks a lot of products I've rarely (if ever) seen in other drugstores. Cologne giftsets, certain brands of shaving products, weird knick-knacks and a well-stocked selection of beverages. It helps that some of the holiday sales have had crazy discounts, and I distinctly recall buying single-wrapped Russell Stover chocolates for mere pennies each. I've also never had a problem with the staff. If anything, they're way too accommodating to my grandmother (who often spends several minutes playing lottery tickets whenever she visits). This Rexall also has a nice location in Maple Grove Mall (which feels very rustic and tucked-away, despite sporting a number of chain businesses) and it's always easy to find a spot in the parking lot. Recommended.

I have never had such poor service in a shop before. Twice I have asked where to find a certain product, a swimming cap and paper for our printer. The younger girl, disinterested, asked the older woman if they sold swimming caps to which she replied, "No we don't sell that here." Luckily, another older lady came along and took me right to them - a whole section of swimming gear!! Today, I phoned about the printer paper. "Printer paper??" she says. "Yes," I say. I could hear her laughing!! Sure enough they have it stock.
