I wish I saw the reviews before I shopped there cause what they said were all true. For a local grocery store, the price is unreasonable and ridiculously high. If you drive about 15 min to roseburg safeway, you can easily find the same stuff for at least 20% less. If you're a Costco member, the price is easily half. For example, you can get a big gigantic cinnamon stick bottle for $5, versus shop smart's tiny bottle would charge you $10. And the fresh produces aren't fresh. And I got a flour that's expiring in two weeks, and I would like to return it. But the manger Paul refused to accept the return, because I opened it. But I didn't even use it. The store's philosophy is overcharging Sutherlin's residents and wouldn't take care of their customers' needs, and refuse any return if you open them, even if they have major quality problems or almost expired. read more

I went to recycle my cans, glass bottles and plastic bottles there this evening and it was explained to me they only take $14 at a time as they don't want their grocery clerk tending to the emptying of the machine as they are there to sell groceries and not do recycling. They don't want that many people there from the community doing recycling because they are a small store. I tried to explain that it takes money to buy groceries, so having people on the premises with money is actually an opportunity. The take away I got was they don't care about the environment even though it is the law that stores have to take recyclables, they don't want people there from the community, they don't want to make money, they are too small to hire more help. It just goes on and on. These people are ridiculous. They will always be a small store with that mentality. I just don't get it. It truly took me aback and my impression is you probably want to shop somewhere else because they really don't like having people there. read more

I am sick of this place and the out of sight prices! Just because they are the only game in town they charge sometimes double what other stores charge. Literally they are holding shoppers up, only without a gun. I can guarantee that when we get another store in this town I won't be back! read more

This is the last place to shop. Prices are out of this world. If you need more than one item it pays to drive to Roseburg to buy.

Everything is so overpriced and expect most of the staff to be rude with only a few exceptions. I personally will not be shoping here unless my life absolutely depended on it! read more

This is the highest price and the most terrible place for produce I've ever seen. There tomatoes if you want to call them that are awful. I always seem to throw them in the trash after I taste them. Potatoes I bought today are pathetic. Old and soft. I defiantly do not recommend this store. read more

Super high prices. The money for the remodel should have gone back to the customers. Can't put lipstick on a pig and call it Beyoncé. I've seen a few compliments about customer service from other reviewers, but as a young person (I am nineteen) I get talked down to very frequently by employees in the checkout line (ex. telling me to do things like put in my chip card or take the bag instead of politely asking, using tone suggestive of a parent lecturing a misbehaving toddler) and the lines are ALWAYS atrociously long. There is usually only one register open, and if traffic gets bad, someone else comes up, but only for a moment. Logically the second employee would stay until the customers have been served, right? Nope. They leave after they serve one. And none of the employees seem to know how to smile, either. I can only assume that this store is as hard to work for as it is to shop at. read more

I've taken spoiled meat back several times to this store. Not only is produce bad, old and not fresh, I've found old and outdated, watery, discolored things on the shelf. I don't shop there unless I absolutely have to for maybe one item as I'm afraid of getting sick from bad products. read more

Ridiculously high prices. A lot of the produce seems to be past their freshness date. The store is clean. Rocky and Moe at checkout are always friendly and helpful. The meat selection is pathetic and expensive. This town is in desperate need of a quality grocery store!!! read more

i shopped here for years as it was alwasy just up the street. However then they did the dreaded thing Remodled..eek. who the heck did this in the middle of their sleep. they suffled things so have to do a scavenger hunt to find anything. they quit saling large packages like nuts and raisins and peanut butter for example. they put new flooring in to make it look different and scrambled everything in an unorganized fashion. who ever heard of spices by the produce or dressings by the meat or peanut butter tucked into the back of one ailse and not by the bread. oh i hate going in now i dread it. will only go in there to get milk or something like that that they did not move and i know where it is. i have walked out of this store so many times since the remodeling. its a thing if it is not broke dont fix it or asked your customers first get a idea of how they want to see it arranged. to bad as it is the only store in town other than conveniece stores and dollar general which i frequent more now for my groceries as but for the most part have to go 22 miles around trip if i want a major grocery store read more
