Long time customer, first time reviewer. What can you say about Shop N Save that hasn't been said about a public restroom. This place has saved me so many times. It's not my preferred place to go, but when you need it, it's your savior. It's usually very clean and always dimly lit so make sure your phone has enough battery to keep the flashlight on throughout the duration of your visit. The smell changes frequently based upon the time of day and who was there before you. Upon entering, you might be treated with a nice scent of flowers but you could also get a pungent whiff of urine if the motorized carts haven't been hosed off recently. On rare occasions, it might smell like sewage although that issue has been recitified thankfully. Nevertheless, it's a great place and has everything you need. Staff is very friendly. Cat food is typically $1 less per can than Giant Eagle, so stock up when you can. Ultimately, I love this place. They don't make them like this anymore. read more

I'm giving this store a low rating because it doesn't seem like they are very nice to people of color. The woman that checked us out (Ash) was extremely rude. No Hi. No did you find everything okay. Just a huge sigh that clearly said she didn't feel like being bothered. Sad really because she is in customer service. Shop n save do better!!!! read more

Great customer service. Friendly and helpful staff. Staff greets you when you enter the store. Clean shelves and floors. In produce department always has a staff member stocking fresh food. The butchers in the Meat Department helpful with picking out how many servings per pound. Being a senior citizen, the butchers cut my meat order into smaller pieces. The office staff are very professional and they answer many of my questions. The cashiers are very friendly and ask if I need any help finding anything. The cashiers are smiling and friendly. I ride the T to get my groceries. I attempted to shop to get my groceries, but was stopped at the front door. I had with me my rolling cart with reusable bags . I was told I could not go in the store with my cart. I should put it back in my car. I said , I ride the T . I was told I could take my chance and leave the cart outside the store if I wanted to shop. Sure so someone could walk off with it. My prejudice against supermarket "bimbo" confections has been challenged for this cake had substance, and I regret not photographing some of the other amazing-to-behold creations that teased me behind glass. This SNS is open 24/7 to boot. So say no to Wal-Mart if you need food at an odd hour and instead, turn onto that winding road on Castle Shannon Boulevard to that big, big grocery in the sky...or on the knob, hill, dale, whatever it is. This is an ok supermarket, with most items you need and prices are pretty reasonable compared to other stores in the area. They do not have as large a selection as most Giant Eagles. This is not a super big store, but they do have a bakery and deli and a few prepared foods. If you are a discount shopper, there is a dollar aisle with a lot of the same items you would get at Dollar Tree. There are spices, snacks, cleaning supplies, aluminum foil and other items for just a dollar. Their weekly specials are pretty good. If you live close to this store, it's really the only game in town. read more

So many rude workers here and it seems to worsen every year. I took a cart in about 2 feet away from the corral. I had to go for many serious issues but at least I took it inside. The scrabbly dressed older man yell at me, why not bring it fully in! Is this how you train your cart men to act towards your customers? This was a quick, fruitful trip. Icecream selection Daughter's turn to choose. Drumsticks S'mores (3.99). Schneider's skim milk, Gazette ($2!) , and peaches and nectarines (both, $.99/lb). The store was immaculate as usual. A couple of aisles were partially blocked by employees restocking shelves, but they happily moved. I really like this grocery store. It's quite clean and orderly inside and the employees seem nice. They often surprise me with their selection and new offerings given their size (certainly not a small store, just not a mega grocer like you sometimes see today). I was just looking the hours up when I noticed some of the low reviews; I don't think they're accurate. I would rather shop here than anywhere else in the area. The management in this store is unbelievably awful! Eileen especially! She literally never smiles. She is always miserable, and not welcoming whatsoever. I've been going to this Shop n Save and spending a lot of my hard earned money there for the past 3 years. No more. I'll travel the extra distance and put up with the crowds at the Bethal Park Giant Eagle. Sporadic selection; poor produce availability/quality; general cleanliness; some (not all) rude and apathetic staff; always some sort of pricing issue or register malfunction at check out; dont allow a personal bag containing reusable shopping bags, coupons, wallet etc. Enough is enough. On the way back from getting a growler filled at Brew Brothers, My aunt said this location was selling hatch peppers, I did not find any here, BUT, I DID find 2 Kinds of Ghost Peppers pre packaged. The stronger ones were different colors so I did not trust the Genetic Integrity, I will have to look them up on google, Never have I seen chocolate or Yellow ghost peppers, I have seen them change colors from green to red, but not stop between colors. read more

I went to Shop N Save today in Castle Shannon, which I go to sometimes, but not much, to get a few things for me and my mother. It's hard to find certain things since this whole Coronavirus took place. One of the departments I stopped to was the deli department. My boyfriend and I were the only people in line after the a deli clerk took a previous woman's order. After the clerk took the woman's order he and another deli clerk immediately turned around and ignored my boyfriend and I like we weren't standing there. When he decided to turn back around, he didnt say, "How can I help you?", he just blankly stared at us waiting for us to tell him what we wanted. I broke the silence and ask him how much a certain ham was. He turned around and pointed at a sale sign where that specific deli meat wasn't on sale. So then he gives me a price and I tell him I'd like a half pound. He then rudely slams the meat on the scale and throws the ham in the bag and and slides it on the counter like I'm a dog waiting to be fed. I like Castle Shannon's Shop N Save. I never have an issue, but this was unacceptable. I'm not the one to complain, but I felt extremely disrespected and I wont tolerate that. I'm also not looking for anyone to get fired especially during this time, but I do expect him to be reprimanded for this behavior. I would hope he doesn't treat all customers like this. read more

I came here for yrs despite frequently buying things that were passed use by dates or had mold on them. Despite the dirt in the deli area I came back because it's a local co. Never again. They have a new policy where they greet you at the door and tell you that you have to leave your sachtel at the register. Now they don't do it to all women. I watched. I have dealt with the Meat Manager, Frank, and his staff, namely George, and they always "aim to please." It doesn't matter if something is on sale, they will still cut-to-order the way you request.
