Such a gem! The breakfast is always absolutely amazing -- fresh, hearty, and exactly what you want…read moreto start the day. The staff couldn't be friendlier; they make you feel like a regular even if it's your first time walking in. Even if you're just stopping by for a quick coffee, it's worth it. And the pepperoni rolls? A must-grab to go. Seriously, don't leave without one (or two or a dozen ;) ). This place just has that warm, small-town charm that keeps you coming back.

MY FAVORITE BREAKFAST IN PITTSBURGH/THE STATE/AND 2ND OF ALL TIME…read more Everything here was fucking perfect and it was just all staple diner food in the best version possible. Absolutely nothing crazy (minus the French toast) that is just NAILED. And THE PRICES are so awesome The Hot Mess. Massive, loaded and delicious. That's not an omelette either.. that's their scrambled eggs loaded with potatoes and smothered it their insane sausage gravy. The biscuits with it. Right out the oven fresh, so soft, not dry in the slightest and honestly didn't even need anything on it. The corned beef hash was probably the best I've had. I never had it was such a great crisp/crunch to it. That is my new standard for corned beef hash The pancakes. The best in Pittsburgh and my top 3-5 of all time. I hate the hotcake style which you see in Pittsburgh MINUS the crisp with it. But I don't want that throughout the entire thing, I still want my fluff. This delivered that PERFECTLY. Great crisp on just the edges and the fluff in the middle. Absolutely perfect THE BOSTON CREME FRENCH TOAST. My second favorite breakfast item I've gotten in Pittsburgh. You will rarely see me get French Toast unless it's recommended a decent bit or just looks nuts. THIS is my favorite French toast I've had and I hate Boston Creme 90% of the time. It always gets too overfilled, and too sweet of a custard. NOT HERE. The chocolate topping was perfect, not just a basic syrup people buy at the store that is so overpowering. Can 1000% tell homemade. The custard had the perfect amount of sweet ratio for amount they give Warning it's small inside with minimal seating and you will have to wait. I drove 50 for it and waited 35 for a table. I would drive 2 hours and wait another 2. I will be returning numerous times ESPECIALLY when they have the Bear Claw Pancake Special

I live in Midtown Towers and this location makes up part of the ground floor so I visit it…read morefrequently. As Midtown Towers doesn't have parking and I don't have a car, grocery shopping is difficult for me and I end up using Seven-11 and CVS far more than I should. The main thing I buy here is pizza. 2 for $9.99 is hard to beat, and if you get them raw to cook at home you can even pay with SNAP. The buffalo chicken is a bit hot for my taste and the cheese is too plain. I get the meat or sometimes the pepperoni. They're all $5.99 or 2 for $9.99. I buy almost everything else at CVS as it's usually cheaper there. But if I'm jonesing for soda after 7 pm, or if CVS doesn't have any on sale that week, I'll buy Coke products at Seven-11 at 2 for $3.33. Not a great price, but a lot better than the nearly $2 CVS charges off sale. The employees are almost always pleasant and helpful but they seem to lack support from the owner with regard to keeping stuff in stock and having sufficient staff for busy periods.

No really - this place has started to treat every paying customer as if they're a criminal. I…read moreunderstand that this area has a lot of undesired activities going on due to the nature of the location but having ridiculous policies and using hired security to enforce them is NOT THE ANSWER. Apparently, no one is allowed to use their cell phone while shopping. That is the newest mandate imposed by this location. God forbid you answer a call or text before you pour your cup of (overpriced) coffee. You will be approached. I swear it felt like an old western saloon scene where the sheriff saw me "breaking the rules" and had to come down and give me a passive aggressive talking to. Disclaimer - most of the clerk staff - they are very helpful and totally cool. But the general manager/owner is another story all together. If she has not yet been sued for harassment - that would be a shock. I feel bad for the staff who has to enforce her whimsical policies. She is obviously at her wit's end if there ever was a beginning. Hitler and Goebbles would have been proud of her determination and use of propaganda though. If you decide this place has everything you are looking for in a convenience store - have your papers ready!
