Truth be told....I write this with a bit of a tear in my eye....not to get too melodramatic over a…read moreyelp review....but pictures...when done perfect and if your in a particular sentimental mood....can have that effect. Some backstory...Imagix/Michelle has done our yearly photos for our son from ages 1 to now 5. (See my past reviews). From somehow capturing a perfect moment from our perpetually moving blur of a son (ages 1-3) to patiently instructing four 70/80 year olds on how to hold their aforementioned 4 year old Tasmanian Devil grandson last year, Michelle is a magician/artist...I always leave the photoshoot stressed from the chaos Hurricane Daniel (our son) leaves in his wake....But every year we come back to look at the proofs and are amazed at Michelle ability to capture "lighting in a bottle" . This year was no different. Fortunately we survived the terrible 2's (...3's....4's....) and thanks to time, maturity, and the opposite of gentle parenting, our little Daniel, though far from perfect, is manageable. But we didn't want to make it too easy for Michelle, so we threw in another variable. After a recent canine cancer scare, and recently learning from Google that all dogs, however loyal and cute, unfortunately have an inescapable life, span, I somehow convinced my beautiful but camera shy wife that this is the year we do a family photo with our dog. Some more backstory, if you read this far, our Yorkie, Libby, loves us but HATES the rest of the world. She spent the entire hour photoshoot in perpetual scowl and Volume 11 non stop bark. One week later as she always does, lighting in a bottle perfection. I looked at the proofs with amazement. Our son, we expected....she's done it every year, but how she made a loud perpetual yapping bark into a impossibly cute smile is above my skill set. But I think her greatest feat is how she lessened the "he must be rich" looks gap between my wife and I. My wife is easy, even me with my amateur Android skills, it's hard for her to take a bad picture. Michelle mastery came with how she elevated me to "he must be funny" looks gap level. So why the tear? We loved one of the pics so much we purchased a large framed canvas print to hang on our living room wall. My 85 year old happened to be in town for his grandsons 5th bday so I asked him for an helping hand hanging the picture. I figured he has these family portrait hanging at my childhood home. My brother and I with our full head of hair and my mom shoulder pads captured the 90's to a tee...but what I always remember is the "proud" look my dad had on his face. A look of accomplishment shouting "look at me world and all that I love and created". Watching my aging dad struggle, listing to my aging dog bark in a locked room to protect my dad's ankles, I was suddenly reminded that time, as much as you want to hit pause, always moves forward. It's a good idea to stop and smell the roses, or in this case, look at the snapshot/memories/moments and take it all in. After my dad handed me the leveler and I put away the hammer, and I looked up....and yeah....I had that "Dad" look

She'll give you great recommendations and set you up with expections for your photo session. I've used Edna for years and the beautiful memories created of my two children when they were newborns were magical. I wanted a Chinese theme session and both times Edna hit it out the park with the breath taking still photos. To this day I have those images hung up in our Living Room. Those photos are special because as any parent will tell you those moments passes you by and you'll only have these investments of photographs to capture those precious timelines. We've also used Edna for holiday photos. Again, we've gotten many compliments from friends about how great those images were. If you're comparing photographers, don't look too far. Edna is patient, detail oriented, and a true professional. Just look at her work and see for yourself.

Nicolette and Elaine were very professional. She came highly recommended by a relative's photographer. While we were looking for photographers, we had a call with Nicolette. She was not telling us what we should do and listened to what we wanted and advised what worked best. She worked with the timeline our venue gave and knew where our venue was (very important). When we asked her 3 weeks before the wedding if we can have a second photographer, she made it happen. What really stood her apart is that we agreed on a start and end time and what photos we wanted for the wedding. During the wedding, she checked in with us informing us how much more time we have her and Elaine for, as well as which photos we are still missing (table to table). She made sure we don't regret not having a particular photo with people and also did it to make sure that we are aware of the time so that if we don't want overtime, we have all the photos we wanted. Nicolette sent us sneak peeks of our wedding photos and we're so excited to see the rest!

Since this was the first time we both got married, we didn't know much He educated us, he was friendly, his pricing is great, and most importantly, his pictures were breathtaking. He had us visualizing what our pictures would be like. We didn't even consider videography until we met him, and saw it wouldn't take us completely out of budget. He kept us reassured throughout the 1.5 year engagement, which at times was very hectic. Not to his fault, but I wish we could have had more settings in our pictures, but lack of time prevented it. Keep this in mind! The day of, he was timely and took his job seriously. As a non-photogenic couple, he had us pose and instructed our families for some of the best photos our family has ever taken. The only downfall was the issue of receiving the edited photos and the timeline was unclear. I am not sure how much time was spent editing all the photos. However, when we did receive them, we were satisfied. To our surprise, the video was a lot better than we expected. If he didn't spend a lot of time editing, you could tell a lot of time was spent on the video. It was almost an hour long! In summary, I would recommend Carlos to everyone and when there are other events in the future he will be on the top of the list! Thank you Rivas Photography, and I wish your business so much success

In the words of my husband:…read more We are so glad we hired Michael for our wedding. He was talented, professional, friendly, flexible, generous, with light-speed editing. Our photos were so elegant and organic, and he got them back to us within a couple weeks! I truly appreciated how communicative he was through the whole process, from first contact all the way until the shipping of the photo files. Michael was a superstar throughout our wedding day, running around and making things happen while keeping composure and focus. From showing up early with his videographer, Ricky, to get b-roll footage and photograph the details, to being flexible as our timeline shifted, and then capturing an epic final exit at the end of the night, Michael was ready for anything. His style is to document the day, not dictate it, so he didn't stop things down to make people pose for him and instead moved around stealthily and captured some really great candid moments. But when it came time to get formal pictures, he was also very flexible and willing to try whatever ideas and poses we wanted, and took so many beautiful and elegant photos. And my bride was so relaxed and comfortable as he took some amazing shots of her. Thank you, Michael, for capturing our day so beautifully!
