I have always shyed away from any gym or fitness environment due to bullying, rude service, and personal insecurities (still do but in a different head space now). I walked in their door and never looked back. I was paired with Maria, and it was the best thing to happen for me. Her knowledge her care she gets me. She pushes me further than I think I can go, and then pushes me further than that! At transformation fitness there is not one trainer who does not make their client feel worthy, motivated, inspired. I have my share of injuries/pain and with the dedication, care, and instructions from Steve I am able to still continue with my trainings through modifications and mobility work. The latest addition to an already fantastic studio are their Cardio Boxing classes .. holy full body work out. The biggest joy is how empowered I feel after, and how these classes are helping me feel more confident within myself and it's ALL BECAUSE OF THEM !!! I owe a tremendous thank you to owner Steve who has helped me dig deep and find my potential and work hard on keeping at it. I also owe a tremendous tjank you to my trainer Maria who I would be lost without. Anthony, Kurt, and Christine and the rest of the team at TFit I cannot thank you enough for inspiring me everyday to be a better version of who I was the previous day. Not only do I recommend anyone to try your studio out I HIGHLY SUGGEST every one to book a session, you will have zero regrets !

"Just try it, just try to get 5 reps in" and somehow I get it done. Seriously life changing!

I went to this gym for 3 years or so when I moved back to Staten Island…read more Pros: a lot of room, sauna, pool, a lot of equipment, helpful staff Cons: a lot of people who are there to chat instead of actually work out-similar to a social club, creepy guys who hit on you and interrupt your workout, weights are always all over the place, constantly breaking stair masters, terrible parking lot The biggest con for me, as a powerlifter, weights are lighter than stated-when I switched to another gym I struggle with similar weight-which made no sense! This gym is not meant for powerlifters or anyone who is serious about working out. 3 stars is extremely generous, considering it is actually a 2/5.

Ok here comes a 100% honest, no frills review…read more I'm a 38 year old GUY living in Westerleigh Staten Island. I have a masters degree in sports medicine and am very into fitness. I work out at least 5 times a week, sometimes 6 or 7. I was walking by this brand new building one day and saw this studio, it was bright and CLEAN but what caught my eye was these yellow ropes suspended from the ceiling. Honestly, I thought they were TRX's, got pretty excited so I walked in. I spoke to Christine who owns the studio and she explained that she had just opened a PILATES studio. In my mind, I was like UGHHH but she invited me to take a class and check it out. When I showed up for my first class, I was slightly apprehensive but Christine was very welcoming and I was excited to get started. I filled out some paperwork (2 short pages) and I downloaded the APP. YES, there's an app! It's easy to use and has the schedule of classes, prices and easy to book. My first class ROCKED!! I felt like she was going a little easy on me but we both established a good base fairly quickly. Then YESTERDAY, I went back for a more advanced "Max" Class and I WORKED MUSCLES THAT I'VE ONLY READ ABOUT IN BOOKS. Haha, it was amazing. Christine can easily scale back her classes for beginners and is such a wealth of knowledge, she can REALLY spice it up for those of you who are up for a challenge. Never in 20 years of working out did I ever think I'd do pilates. Yes, I thought it was more for girls, that it was kind of like Yoga; more about flexibility, breathing, etc. It turned out to be an EXCELLENT addition to my "exercise tool box". The instructor is VERY knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge with her clients. The studio is bright, and super clean. We take our shoes off at the door and clean each piece of machinery after use. She's even got her own t-shirts for sale. Needless to say I'm totally HOOKED on Pilates BECAUSE OF CHRISTINE and Longcore Pilates. What's cool and different about this place is that you purchase CLASSES instead of paying for a membership, so if life gets in the way, you can skip a few days, take another class and not worry about when your membership expires. I HIGHLY recommend Longcore Pilates to guys, girls, beginners, and the more advanced!

The reason for my visit was because I wanted to take the 9:30am cycling class with Michelle and the class was great. The instructor is nice and energetic and the music selection was also good. I was surprised by how many people showed up. Class was packed! The gym seems to be decent with lots of equipment and a clean locker room. There's also a pool but it's currently under maintenance so I'm not sure when they'll reopen it. The staff members I dealt with were also friendly. There's a huge free parking lot shared by other stores so parking shouldn't be an issue. I wish they also offered a bike rack/storage but that's not the case. I'll be back to take other classes and will update my review at that time.

For the intensity and efficaciousness of the one hour workouts offered, it's a f&$#%;/ steal. Staff is pretty friendly and trainers are tough but fair and overall inclusive. They coach in real time, there's no time for bruised egos. Everyone is treated exactly the same, meaning, whether you're dropping in for 30$/class or you dropped near 1k for 6 months up front, there is no preferential treatment. I doubt they even know who's there for long term or not because they are equally engaged with everyone. There's no ac yet so it can get pretty odorous at times especially when you got 15 in a class. I personally dont like hitting people however its a part of certain classes so you gotta know what the theme is for the class youre attending. Small Gatorade is 2$. You can buy gloves i think for 45 or 80. Wraps were 20$ for me. The elasticity is not as good as some of the wraps I got from Title boxing so I probably wouldnt buy from here directly. They do sell merchandise like tshirts and sweatshirts but nothing is on display at this location. Ive been to totally full classes and some with only me and another person and had a great workout regardless. Think body weight exercises, workout with weights, cardio, hitting bags, etc. They dont separate classes by skill and thats something I noticed annoys longer term patrons i e. People who are really there to spar. I just want to get my ass kicked doing a hiit style workout and im not really very well coordinated so sometimes i forget the moves or forget to move to my right or my left. However i got 6 months left to improve and get better. I havent been to any morning classes. Only 530 or 7 which i like the other classmates. I went at 1 on a friday once and loved it because it was a tiny class and the instructor kicked my ass. Im already seeing my body weight distribution shift and my endurance is fire.
