But things have changed - Clarks are no longer just a shop for fuddy-duddies stuck in a time warp. Their ads alone are testament to this. Now I go in there voluntarily (if occasionally checking behind me to see who is looking...) Seriously, they have some (relatively) groovy shoes and boots. Yesterday, I was sorely tempted by their deep blue lace-up suede knee-length boots with a mid-heel. Very cute! Good with jeans or a skirt. However I exercised some restraint. I asked the 'team leader' some awkward questions and he came-up trumps, so good customer service too and no pressure to buy. A stylish Swedish friend of mine recently bought some funky high-heeled 'Mary Jane's' here and they look really adorable on her. That's partly what lured me in...but I do have bad shoe addiction tendencies so I'm going to be patient and wait and see if I really have to have them...

Shoppers only want what their looking for and whats in their heads is to stay there, it would be physically impossible to satisy every single person who walked into a Kurt Geiger store. But this store also the largest of the brand does have a few selective brands such as Caravella, KG, Solea, Marc Jacobs, Uggs to name a few. A shoe lover I walk into the store once a month to see whats new and interesting. I personally hate the idea of retail, but good shoes are always an expression. Too many girls trying to look very gorgeous, but I only want good sales service. Standing long hours can be tight, and I feel the girls should not be overburdened. But the staff are nevertheless well trained to get you what you want. And some off season shoes are also put up on the discount goodie shelf. Overall good shoes, good store ambience, could be better the service.

Very glamorous, very push and party wear, for parties I haven't been invited. Well it is not completely tasteless, some of the designs are actually quite cool. On the store shelf's I mean. I feel sorry for the girls that have to go through all that pain of wearing these! Poor toes. But because this store also has a small selection of Marc Jacobs I do pop in every now and then. They are exceptionally well made and comfortable enough to be functional. I live in these beautiful boots. Unfortunately, due to an altercation with a drain pipe, the heel of my boot came off. I went back to the store and the staff sent my boot back for repair. Two weeks later, I received a phone call and picked up my boots. Good as new. YEARS on, my heel came off again. There's no denying it, I am definitely the culprit - not the boot. I went to multiple cobblers to get my boot fixed and they all turned me down because apparently the lack of a zip was too complicated for them. So, with very little faith, I returned to Mascaro. As a jaded Londoner, I honestly expected them to laugh at me. But these boots were very dear to me. Despite the fact that years had passed, and I clearly have the tread of an elephant - they agreed to take my boot back and send it to bloody Italy where they have repaired it for me once again. The other reviewer claims that this place isn't a designer boutique. This store is PURE LUXURY - which other shoe brand offers free repairs, years after purchase. If only Mascaro would branch out, I'd buy everything I own from their wonderful, wonderful store. THANK YOU FOR MY BOOTS.

Designer Jaime Mascaro started by designing ballet shoes in 1918 and the label today is well known at least by its high profiled fans. I am not sure what exactly did I expect from the shop but most certainly did not look like a designer boutique, just the opposite to be honest. Hand written price tags with price cuts and the bit messy out look aside, the shoes looked well made and most certainly feminine with still some decent ballerinas on the selection. Maybe not the style I would go for but beats many of its rivals down in the Oxford Street.

It is quite difficult…read moreto park in Pinner so we tend to park in the Lidle car park and buy something in the shop on our way back through. Pinner Clarks is a smaller shop than the one in Harrow but it is still a great place for getting kids school shoes. There is a good selection of shoes and the staff are well trained. The shop is comfortable and child friendly. The beauty of visiting this branch over the Harrow branch is that it is very quiet and it is possible to walk in and get served straight away. The staff are patient with the children and are prepared to take time over the fitting.
