I have been needing a new pair of golfing shoes for sometime. Searched twice for a pair that met my needs and have been unsucessful recently. When I picked up Sunday's paper and saw the 25% off coupons I had to give it another try. Especially since Shoe Station is now carrying Skeechers.golf shoes. I was surprised at the selection. It took no time in finding a pair of spikeless that fit me perfectly. My concern now was they wouldn't accept the coupon for these shoes (They will not for Nike). I have lived right up the street from this location and have been a member of the Mobile community for almost 3 years. I also manage a local franchise myself. After He spent $175.99 Then I spent ANOTHER $67.82 Your "security officer" follows me out the door telling me He wants to search my bag. (My Coach backpurse) and proceeds to tell me we were "acting suspicious" So apparently dropping $200 plus is suspicious, I will never shop at any of your locations again. I'm reviewing on Yelp because Shoe Station doesn't have a way to review on their website, even though they claim to have a five star rating. I started off at the shoe station in Auburn, where the people there were professional and did more than I expected. I wanted a pair of shoes, but the right show was damaged with two groves on them. It was the last pair so they said they could mail me a pair. This pair was shipped from Mobil, AL. I will add a pic. The right toe on this pair was damaged even more. It looked like someone ran a mile with one foot. I'm disappointed. Maybe there would have been less damage if they shipped the pair with paper in the toe, but only one had it. read more

came in 12 minutes before close, just looking for a specific item, took me about 2 minutes to realize they didn't have it, no biggie. lady at register was very rude as soon as we walked in. when we walked to the front we could hear all of the employees talking about us and making fun of us coming in before close. super unprofessional and unwelcoming. I manage a chain coffee business, so I understand the idea of closing time, but also understand that, that's what I get paid to do, sounds like a bunch of lazy employees, ungrateful for a job they are lucky to have, and from the sounds of it, probably shouldn't have. read more

I bought shoes from this shoe station. 140$ shoes that I need for work since I'm a nurse and I need comfortable foot wear. When I got home I noticed a defect on the sole, the rubber was torn off. I'm not paying 140$ for something broken. It took me a few days to go return the shoes because I'm a busy woman. I came back to the store to return the shoes and the clerk who has always been pleasant asked her manager to come over. The manager, who's name is Pam, said in an accusatory tone "and it took you 8 days to return these??". Per the shoe station policy there is a 60 day return fee if the merchandise is unworn. Shoe Station is a great store with a wonderful selection and great prices. This review is based on my shopping experience and the lack of customer service skills from the store's General Manager. I went in yesterday to purchase 2 pair of Bernie Mev's (a favorite brand that I wear), one of my selections was on sale for $39.99 sticker on the box. When I checked out, the price came up $69.99, the clerk called for the manager to resolve the price discrepancy and she hastily arrived and said "Ma'am those shoes are not that price and someone has obviously changed the sticker" Really?, I mentioned to her that the other sizes on the shelf in this same style were also marked $39.99 so she left to go check. When she returned she said "Ma'am, your shoes are black and the multi colored are the ones on sale, you will have to pay $69.99" I questioned that most company's would honor a marked price, she very rudely told me in front of other customers that "she is not responsible for people changing price tags" The other customers rumbled about her bad attitude as they were waiting in line. I purchased the one pair and did not purchase the pair in question. However, I did have the clerk hold the shoes I purchased so I could go back to the shelf and check for myself, I was sure these shoes were marked $39.99. I pulled 4 boxes identical and in black of the shoe I was trying to purchase, they were all marked $39.99. Upon returning to the register with as many of the marked boxes I could carry, I was met by the manager. I explained myself again and showed her that the shoes I was trying to purchase were all marked at the sale price. Rather than apologizing to me for the misunderstanding, she in a very loud voice said "Ma'am, I did not accuse you of changing the tag, you can go up there and they will sell them to you for that price, but it is the wrong price and I need all those boxes". I was rather appalled by her demeanor but, rather than offsetting one rude comment with another, I took my shoes and went to the register, she called the clerk to let him know that the $39.99 price would be honored for me. Never once did she apologize for the misunderstanding, I purchased the shoes and went to my car~after processing the way I had been treated by her, I immediately decided that I would return both of my purchases and not shop there again until I receive a formal apology from this store by or on behalf of the manager. **Update: I am adding 4 stars to my original review, the store's manager has personally contacted me and apologized for yesterday's shopping experience, in addition, she has offered for me to come back to the store and re purchase the Bernie Mev's at the $39.99 price which she stated is below their cost. I appreciate her willingness to accept my criticism and her kindness and her sincerity in assuring me that she will be more aware of future situations with customers from this point forward. We are blessed to have this store in West Mobile due to its large inventory and competitive prices. HOWEVER, here are some of my personal experiences that were obnoxious. Some employees understand that you get a paper but due to the chaos of life, left it at home & they give you the discount. Others are enforcers and make you come back with coupon in hand or sign up for the text message. In my opinion, this store takes an approach of warm bodies rather than workers and some of the teenage workers get a bit of power at the registers and make executive decisions regarding pricing even though the tag should explain the price. I realize this store does major volume but their attitude is, "This is not the flea market" and they make no concessions if a shoe even remotely looks like it has been worn. I bought $50 (with coupon) clarkes & after wearing them once, realized that there was a sharp object sewn in the inside that rubbed my toe.
