Nick wears a size 14, and I wear a size 10. Shopping for shoes is not easy for us. This place has an excellent selection for people with larger feet. The store carries mostly adult shoes. Shoe styles and brands range from Fyre to Nine West and Cole Hann. You can find boots, heels, dress shoes, summer styles and tennis shoes. There are also some women's clothing in the store. My only issue with not giving this place 5 stars is that the prices are still a little high for used or discounted shoes. While the shoes are in excellent condition, it is still a little bit on the pricier side.

I went there because of the personalized attention provided by the staff, the selection of shoes they carry, my previous experience buying from the store, and to buy locally. It's a great store to shop, and receive valuable information about foot health and running or walking techniques. Staff is helpful, they know their stuff, and customer service is superb. Horrible customer service. Waited 30 mins for the main manager (the cashier referred to him as the…read morestore director, Adam) to refuse to honor the posted discount on a pair of clearance shoes--even after ringing up the same shoe (in a different size) that he argued were a different style. They clearly were not. We had 4 pair of shoes that would have totaled close to $400, along with several name brand clothing items. He would not make eye contact with me and was extremely poor in his overall presentation--his statement when walking away was "I don't know what to tell you". The poor cashier looked shocked and apologized over and over, saying "I'm so sorry, he's the main manager and there's no one else above him or I would call someone else". I will NEVER patron this store again!

They offered to allow me the opportunity to reorder the items however they would not expedite the shipping. Allegedly to prevent fraud a phone call was made to my residence to confirm that I in fact had purchased the items and because Academy Sports got a answering machine instead of a live person they canceled the order. Further review of my answering machine verified no call from Academy Sports ever took place. Therefore I had to place my order through Amazon. Academy Sports has the absolute worst customer service. I will NEVER purchase another item through this company. I would recommend any person that wants guaranteed delivery and excellent customer service should shop with any other company other than Academy Sports

I went ahead and went in as well, just to see what other shoes they had. They have a lot of options for women. They had boots from over the knee to cowgirl boots to heels to branded sporting shoes. They also had sections for men and children too. They have it all! The staff seemed very friendly as they greeted you when you walked in and were willing to help you if you needed too. I did like their prices on their designer shoes and I would recommend going here if you are looking for quality shoes at savor prices.
