No problem- came in store, gave them my vintage Dior purse, told them to be careful, girl in the front took my bag to the back for the guy to look at. When they came back I was shocked to see they were bending the broken part of my purse like they wanted it to break or something. They told me I would have to replace the strap completely, a lie to get me to spend more money... while continuing to bend the strap of my vintage bag that was already very fragile, crazy. Out of three stores in the area I came to this one because it seemed the most promising. So I had gone to this Fancy over priced placed in Magic City.. I won't even give them the pleasure of saying their name... I dropped my shoes off on a Friday and they told me 5 days. Wed I got an email asking for a review. Naturally I assumed I missed an email from them. Why would they ask for a review of the job wasn't complete. I also got an email saying the shoes had been shipped... made zero sense since I brought them myself... long story short the place was all flash and no substance. I was pissed because there was 10 days now I couldn't wear my shoes. I came to Shoe Rescue and the owner was amazing! He made me feel like a Vip in 5 seconds. We talked about things and I felt comfortable to leave me shoes. He told me he was sorry about the annoying experience I had at the other place and told me I wouldn't had that with him. He was absolutely right. I dropped my shoes off at 5pm on a Monday and got a text message on tues at 12:40pm. I drove there and as you can see the shoes were perfect! Shoe rescue has been around about as far back as I can remember at the same location behind La Carreta restaurant, tucked away in the corner of the shopping mall next to a Barbershop. Let me begin by saying that in all the time I have been a customer they have always done a real good job for me. I have tried using other shoe repair businesses that are closer to me but I always find myself making a trip to Shoe Rescue as it seems to me they are the best shoe repair business in the area and provide the beat bang for the buck. I truly believe they are awesome at what they do and that is attributed I believe to all the years they have been in business in the industry. They are very knowledgeable and it really shows. What I also like about this family owned business is they always provide you with an honest explanation in what they can or cannot do for you. Sometimes it just does not make sense to fix something and they will always let you know. I will also share that they can help out with anything associated to leather repair or maintenance in items such as purses, wallets, leather rifle slings, etc. I have always also found that their prices are very affordable as well. Parking should not be a problem as their is plenty of it available. So if you need some shoes repaired, conditioned or shined you should give them a shot as I don't think you will be disappointed. read more

It's truly hard to rate this place as the repairing of shoes is reliable however, the time frame in which you get your shoes back is ridiculous. I get it... they're busy because they're good but then hire another shoe repair person so that it doesn't take 3 months to get your shoes back. Yes, you heard me correctly... 3 MONTHS before your shoes are repaired and returned to you. Now that's just unacceptable! Unlike some of the other folks who have written reviews sadly I am not the owner of a pair of Louboutin shoes, but I did happen to have a pair of dress shoes that I adore and these humble shoes of lesser name needed new heel tips. Thus I found myself at Sunset Shoe repair. They were polite and helpful and greeted me right away. It was $10 for the work and they asked me if I was in a hurry to get the shoes back. I was not and I told them whenever was okay. They told me about a week and a half, which was fine. I really wasn't in a rush. Someone else came in while I was there and they said they were in a rush for the repair and they were provided with a shorter time frame, so the business tries to accommodate the customer's need. They call you when the shoes are ready and true to their word I received a phone call advising that my shoes were ready two days earlier than promised. The repair was well done and overall I was very pleased with this business from all aspects and will definitely return for any future shoe repairs. read more

I don't like writing negative reviews, however, I feel that if I share this perhaps they will change their business practice. I visited Shoe Rescue on August 30th. I was only looking for point taps to protect the front of the shoe. Nevertheless they recommended a half leather some to protect the shoe. They charged me $74+, but the best part was that they gave me a pick up date of September 17th--two-and-a-half weeks in order for them to finish the work. The shoes were a brand new pair of Jimmy Choo slides with heels. I was a little taken back because all I was looking for was a metal tap to protect the point of the shoe, not a half sole. I paid it and asked why I would take so long. They said they had a lot of work but that they would probably finish the work before the 17th of September. On September 15th (two days before the date they promised), I called and asked about the status. They told me the shoe would be ready on the 17th. I'm not going to lie, I got upset. I explained that I had an engagement on Saturday and that I didn't want to pick up the shoe very late. The lady on phone said that she would speak to management and when she came back to the call, she said that they would have it on the 16th (one day prior to the promised date). On Friday, the 16th, I received a phone call from the shoe repairer, Julio, to tell me that they had done me a favor and finished the shoe on the 16th. Again, I became upset and told them, "No. You are not doing me a favor. I paid a hefty price for this repair and you have it done one day before the promised date. You are NOT doing me any favor. When I went to pick up the shoe on Friday, September 16th, a lady who was chewing gum very loudly greeted me and brought me the shoes from the back. I finally got the shoes which they had placed in a plastic clear bag and then a paper back. I said, thank you, and left. read more

After being a loyal customer of Deleon on Coral Way and 30th(which use to be La milagrosa ) for as long as I could remember and being treated disrespectfully the last several times I decided to leave to Bridgette's shoe repair on Galiano street in the Gables - ha ! to my surprise this is the wife! And it's just an off sight - Deleon is where the shoes end up.
