The first time I stepped into the store was with my Grandfather and my Mom. And we were there to…read moreget my 91 year old Grandfather a pair of New Balance walking shoes. Now we went there after we were at Sears and could not find what we needed. And I actually suggested the Shoe Fly store because I saw a commercial that touted their expanded orthopedic services and figured it was what my Pap Pap needed. So we got there and they took care of him right away. They got him the shoes that he needed and also assisted in critiquing the special elastic shoelaces that he needed. At the end the fit was right and we were very satisfied with the whole experience. So a year later I went back...solely on the satisfaction and the strength of the service they provided my Grandfather. Now I didn't have that much to spend and I knew that the high quality footwear they had wasn't exactly cheap.....the highest quality never is. But I went looking for a reasonable bargain. I walked in the store and told the guy what I had to spend and the guy behind the counter looked around and got me a nice pair of chocolate brown New Balance 900 Hiking Boots with Gore Tex Lining, AB-SORB soles and with a "Guaranteed Waterproof" rating.............for $80 dollars!! And these turned out to be the best pair of boots I had ever owned. They lived up to the guarantee of the superb materials used in their construction. But that was not all. These boots bordered on MAGICAL as they genuinely transformed me, the wearer. I recall wearing them to a health care plaza on one occasion. And instead of being looked upon as what usually would be a stereotypical disrespect, suddenly I was looked at and treated as if I was one of the doctors or another respected professional, except perhaps out of uniform at the end of the work day and headed to my Corvette, Mercedes or high end SUV. And for two years after that, after I thoroughly beat the hell out of these New Balance boots, I found myself turning to them for shoveling duties on multiple properties and occasions over the subsequent winters....actually turning to them rather than my military MICKEY boots that were rated to sub zero temps. So honestly this was the best buy and experience for me boot wise. And when I can afford it, and If THE LORD wills, I will definitely go back to Lasser's Shoe Fly. Plus I know now that they carry the Irish Setter brand boot. And that will be the boot that I purchase next. Now I went out of my way to write this review after seeing a one star review when I looked up their site. And I did so due to my good experience there. So I think that perhaps in the crush of providing excellent service there was a miscommunication over the phone and a error was made. It happens. And these situations account as common human errors that we all make in the course of modern business. Surely these errors should not be enough for the reasonable patron to be permanently offended over.

Do I waited until Tuesday to call. I gave him my name and asked about the shoes. In stead of saying just I moment please I will check he said did you get a call? I don't think so I said well then they aren't in. Well we get our shoes in after noon so someone will call you. I looked on my phone and someone from there did call me Saturday. Later they did call around 3 to say they are here. I picked them up. No thank you or anything.

I liked this Burlington more than the older ones out there. It has a more modern feel and the most…read moreimportant thing, it's not in a space that they can't use all the space. You know what I mean, there are none of those faux walls that shrink the floor space. With that, they also seem to have a great selection of items that you would not find at other businesses like this. I ended up grabbing myself two hoodies that have become my favorite pieces. Even though we are moving into warmer temperatures. I will still sport those, you can't pass up a good hoody. Clothing aside, they do offer a wide array of other items. However those are the items that you need to pick through. I wish that it would be a constant mix of items, but these seem to be the items that go faster than the clothing. The biggest hold up here, was checking out. Because it is newer in the area and a newer store setup lots of people definitely shop here, so if there are not a lot of cashiers, the line is going to be longer and that equates to longer wait times.

Looking for shoes for yourself is never fun. When you look for shoes is more like committing to…read moresomething in the long term. I am not one of those people that has a huge selection of shoes, I am one that finds a pair of shoes and wear them until one of two things happen. I will walk them to the point where they no longer have comfort, or something tears on them. I have been on a mission lately to find a comfortable pair of shoes that look decent, but they shouldn't break the bank. I have been to a few other Show Carnival stores and I am just not impressed with the selection or store itself. I understand that women are probably shopping for shoes more than men, but it is a bit irritating when the selection for men is just not there. You have maybe one aisle of shoes for men that turn into boots. I know what people will say, go to the mall, go to a place that has sport shoes, but that really doesn't help. Expand the selection for men. I suspect that the target crowd here is women and children. You got boots, dress shoes, and then shoes that just don't grab my attention. I will definitely be looking elsewhere.

I have shopped at Shoe Carnival pretty frequently and in many different states. I had a very…read moreunpleasant experience at this location recently. On August 20, 2018 I went in and was harassed as I checked out with my family. I came to shop with my children and I had my sister use my member card. Well the toad ringing us up decided to be tacky and unpleasant. She proceeded to ask if my sister wanted her receipt in the bag or if she preferred for her to just tell me how many points I earned on my card. Mind you I was in another register trying to pay for shoes as well (close to $200 worth of shoes just for one child). She was very condescending in her tone and made our experience very uncomfortable and very embarrassing. It was almost as if the points were going to be redeemed directly from her paycheck. What business is it if my family uses my card or not? Are items being stolen? Are they not being paid for? Are these points earned coming out of their salary? I am fortunate to not have any material needs but this sales person seems to be the type to call out a poor family or a person struggling financially to make ends meet. She completely lacked compassion and customer service skills. She is apparently a "general manager" which I'm assuming is a "Leadership" position. Shoe Carnival really needs to step up their customer service training at this location.
