This t-Shirt shop is nothing but a scam and the over pricing at the register (not on the items) since no prices are shown the items since the owner Dave who is a Conman tries maximizing the prices according to how much he thinks the customer will pay. He seems like a nice guy but once he gets ya, he gets ya GOOD, RIGHT IN THE WALLET. Very cheaply made products and he tries to drag customers in the door when they are passing by, ESPECIALLY because he has blocked most of the sidewalk (How can this be legal?) Not to be confused with Chirp World, which is my cat Harley's fave store, because he chirps all the time. I don't really have any big problem with Shirt World, and I think that the prices are not bad, even though others keep saying they're better down the street. Service isn't great indeed and I don't like that a lot of things aren't marked with prices, seems shady and others agree it's shady, and some of those anecdotes, wow! Which is why I don't give more than three. But I do think their selections are better than other reviews said they are, and I have a few good experiences from coming in here. read more

Full disclaimer: I am not an SU student, or really an SU (Athletics) fan. I am usually on Marshall St to wait for the bus after my appointments at the nearby hospitals. Anyway, I stopped by. The eindow displays caught my eye with some cute SU cheerleader dolls and plushies. Now without regard to anyone else's reviews after the fact, here is my impression. The owner and the employee there today were friendly and welcoming enough. I for one had a pleasant experience. I inquired about the cheerleader doll and a few other items. I read some people complain about the asking prices but in their defense: it's the SU campus area and they sell SU merch. Soo uhhh, yeah. Expect "theme park" pricing. I walked out with a cute little cheerleader teddy bear, and paid cash. No issues. As far as the selection and prices of apparel, that's simply what sports-themed fan merchandise goes for! I was on Marshall Street recently with my 12 year old daughter. When we approached Manny's on our walk to the stadium for the women's lacrosse game she asked if we had time to stop to get a Syracuse Lacrosse sweatshirt. We quickly ran in a picked out a sweatshirt. She put on the sweatshirt in the store and put the shirt she had been wearing in the Manny's bag and we headed out the door. As we continued down Marshall Street and approached Shirt World, I saw Dave (the owner) standing on the sidewalk. I said hello and when he saw the Manny's bag in my daughter's hand he started berating me and continued harassing my 12 year old as we walked away. He was acting like a child. I have never seen behavior like this from a grown man. I have been in his store many times but I can tell you now that I will never set foot in his store again. read more

Pros: Owner is super nice and store has a great selection. Con: Bought 2 shirts, 1 pair of socks, a decal and a pencil. Was talking to owner during transaction. When I finally looked at un-itemized receipt later on, total was $130. No prices on the items either. Is there a way to rate zero stars????????? EVERY time I've gone to Shirt World and the owner was working I've gotten ripped off. And I mean every time. I haven't been there in a few years but I thought I'd give him another chance today. I bought one item and he told me the total which was about $3 more than it should have been. When I called him out he made up an excuse and said he'd adjust it. He rang it up again and folded the receipt and gave it back to me and rushed away from the register. When I looked, he still charged me $1 more even though he repeated the price when I showed him. I waited for him to come back and he said the price was probably wrong because I was paying with a credit card and it automatically increased the price, even though I saw him enter the price. As he's done before, he reached into the register and gave me some change - which was less than the amount that was due back to me. This is the same thing he did the last time he ripped me off. I just left because I was disgusted with his practices. I will never go back there. I suggest if anyone shops there - check your receipt. I've read that he's trained other employees to do the same but I don't know that. My dealings were only with Dave Jacobs. Very sad. read more

DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS! THEY STEAL!! If I could give this place no stars I would. After visiting Syracuse for school, I went to this place to order a sweatshirt since they didn't have what I wanted in the store. It was the owner himself, who seemed to be really nice and helpful that promised that I would receive the order I placed within about 2 weeks. After those 2 weeks passed, I NEVER received anything. So when I gave them a call, the owner was adamant that I would get it since their warehouse was taking longer than expected. Fast forward a couple weeks later, now its been a month and still haven't received anything. I called and spoke to the owner again, he told me to call back that Friday if I didn't receive anything. When I called back, not only did they hangup on me, when I tried calling back I never got anyone on the phone again. I left message upon message. No one has returned my calls. It's a shame you give a place business and they don't even have the decency to resolve an issue. This is DISGUSTING behavior to have to deal with from a business! HIGLY DISSATISFIED. I go to most basketball home games and I ALWAYS stop in to shirt world (not the other store down the street) before heading up The Hill. This is the only place where my family and I goes for gear. They have Cuse everything - tshirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, as well as a robust children's and dogs (!) collection. Something for everyone! There is usually a buy something get a free t-shirt deal, so everyone leaves with plenty of orange. The owner has been there for 30 years, used to be a kicker on the SU football team and is incredibly warm and welcoming. He also invented the "Real Men Wear Orange" t-shirt and if that doesn't deserve a trip in the door, then I don't know what does. Go 'Cuse! read more

The other reviews said it all, I will say it again; PUT PRICE TAGS ON 'ALL' THE MERCHANDISE, not 'some/most' of it. Maybe it's the opportunity for them to size you up and 'create' a price..? In 2 years the merchandise was almost identical, a couple of 'sale' racks. I will say this; the price is much better than Manny's down the street. This store highly lacks professionalism and lacks the skills of proper communication. We made a gift with various crafts, and we saw that there were other things that were available to decorate. We were given these other things to decorate from the backroom (paint pens), some were open, used and some were new. We were under the impression that since some were dried out and opened, that we didn't have to pay for them (and just use them in the store). They tell us after passing by for the 5th time, that we MUST buy them! The crafts (wooden pieces) to put on our frame were priced .99-2.99 (this was the range that was given to us by one of the workers). At the register, of course after everything was on there, some of the pieces were as much as 7.99, you would think these differences should have been pointed out. I purchased a hat for my boyfriend's birthday, I asked if I could return it if it wasn't the right one or if it didn't fit. I was told yes! I went today to return it, they didn't have it in the size I needed so I asked for a credit back to my credit card. He said, we only issue store credit. I told him I specifically asked if I'd be able to return it when I purchased it. He said, "yeah you can return it for store credit". That's not what I was told! I would have rated this place a zero but that was not an option. I have deep roots in Syracuse . Graduated Nottingham,, SU, and Upstate. We were visiting late September (2013) and purchased $114 worth of clothes. There being no convenient place to try things on we made our best judgement as to what would fit. When we returned home to central PA two of the shirts did not fit ($68) . We called back and they told us we would get store credit if we shipped the shirts back .We did so with a number that was to be an identifier . We returned to the store (8/3/14 ) and they said they had no idea what we were talking about. The sales person said they would call the office and get back to us . Eight days later : no call. We called and Dave (the owner?) said without a record of who signed for the package he could ( would ) not help. There was no accommodation whatsoever! So we are out $ 68. We visited from Houston Texas, in June. Visited Tshirt world to bring home a little taste of my home town. We asked for assistance in a tshirt that was hanging up that said "I married into this" for my husband. After arriving back in Houston, we noticed that we were given the wrong size. So I called the 315-474-2028 phone number that is listed on the website and spoke with Steve. Steve assured me that if I returned the tshirt via mail, and included a returned self addressed envelope he would take care of the exchange for me, I even added postage to the envelope so it wouldn't cost him a thing. I have called weekly since my first call, and now no one seems to know what I'm talking about...however, Steve remembers. I have talked to "Dave" who claims that he owns the place, the first time I spoke with him he said he would call me back in 30 minutes and didn't. The second time I spoke with Dave he told me he needed to talk to Steve and would call me back, and he didn't, and every time I've called since then to speak with him he says "I don't understand" and hangs up on me. I have left a few voice mails as well. To no avail, I don't get a return phone call. So, I resort to the internet...I learned a valuable lesson here...I should have checked the size even though I had asked for assistance. You can rest assured I will NEVER go to tshirt world when I am in Syracuse and want to bring home a little momento for my loved ones back home. I've dealt with Shirt World and the owner Mr. Jacobs for years now. He's always friendly to my son, who is 8 now. I've bought numerous items there over the years and have NEVER come away dissatisfied. One time I was on the way to his shop to pick up an item and my car broke down. When I finally got it fixed and made it to the store and told him what happened he said, out of the blue, that I should have called him up and he would have come down and helped me get gas. Always friendly with me and we have often discussed the state of SU sports and the athletes. Never had an issue with any of the staff. I highly recommend the store. read more

I recently had the pleasure of shopping at the best campus T-shirt store in the world! (My son is starting his freshman year at Syracuse University in September 2018, so we visited the campus for a event they called "Own the Dome"). Our mid-morning (rainy) walking tour started on Marshall street. We ventured into a few stores before we struck gold st Shirt World! (Sadly, I dropped close to $100 at a neighboring store where the disinterested employees (ok they're college kids but they were really uninspiredand acted like they were doing me a favor taking my $$$) Then I walked into the jam packed (in a good way! ) friendly staff who were TRULY giving away free stuff, if you bought some other great stuff I thought it was a mistake-seriouslyI walked out with 8 really great quality shirts, jerseys, sweatshirts, for the same amount I spent on 2 shirts a few doors downAlso, I got to meet the Owner before I left, who was really accommodating and friendly. Turns out he's a graduate and former SU kicker-but he never mentioned that! Not a bragging kinda guy, just a great, friendly businessman who runs a fantastic business.
