This is an absolutely delightful little place which we stopped into when I was taking Barbie to Strong Hearts and other places in Syracuse. We were inquiring about fixing some of her high heels (all Pleasers, they look great but break easy, especially when you use them as much as she does), and I wish we had the whole collection with us because it's both cheaper and faster than other places - not to mention way more friendly than the vast majority of shoe repair stores we've been to. These guys are great. You walk in and hear them singing and talking in Italian. They have been quick to get my shoes fixed, and they really know what they are doing. You definitely get bonus points if you can speak Italian with them, but a simple 'gratzi' will be met with a smile. Prices are good, and they have a decent selection of supplies in there as well. I was in town for work and finally remembered that I needed the plastic caps on my black heels replaced. One shoe was bare to the metal post in the heel, and the other metal post was poking through the rubber cap. I walked in, the guy at the counter was extremely nice (there were a lot of "sweetie's" and "honey's" though, and that usually bothers me, but he just seemed like a sweet old Italian man - harmless enough). For $10 he fixed both heel caps, covered a mark on the top of the toe, and added reinforcement under the toes of each shoe to prevent more scratches and mark-ups. He said it would be done in 30 minutes, and when I came back, all was ready for me. I did also make an impulse buy of a double-zip wallet for $12 that I regretted the next day - zipper wasn't smooth and my credit cards actually had a hard time fitting into the slots - but I came for the shoe repair and left very satisfied with the work done. read more

Ralph takes such pride in his work -- I dropped off three pairs of boots for repair (two needed new heels; one needed new soles). When I came to pick them up, he showed me his handy work and everything looked great. When we got to the tall pair that needed new soles, he said he'd noticed the zipper on the back was broken, so he went ahead and replaced it for me. "No charge," he said. I'd forgotten all about the zipper, but when Ralph noticed it he didn't want to return the boots to me with that imperfection. Now that's amazing service. read more
