This review is specifically about the female manager working at the counter…read more My husband brought in a large, fragile return package while I waited in the car. The item was a Big Ass Candle that we decided to return because we didn't like the scent. We never even removed it from the original packaging. The manufacturer packages these candles very specifically to protect them, so we left everything exactly as it arrived. My husband came back and told me the manager refused to accept the package because there was wax on the outside of the box and that it "needed to be covered." Since that didn't make sense to me, I went inside to ask for clarification. I asked, "What do you mean by 'covered'?" Instead of answering my question, she told me she was cleaning the counter because when she used her fingernail, the wax would come off. That didn't explain what she wanted us to do. I asked again, "Do you mean wrap it like a Christmas gift?" She finally clarified that she meant it needed to be placed inside a new box. The confusing part is that this is exactly how FedEx delivered the package to me in the first place. We hadn't altered the box at all. I didn't open it light it and drop wax on it. Rather than argue, I left and took the exact same package to another FedEx location. They accepted it immediately without saying a single word about the wax or requiring another box. In fact, they processed the return exactly as-is, which shows that even the "requirement" I was given at the first location was not actually necessary. I also contacted FedEx customer service afterward, and they were professional, courteous, and helpful. Unfortunately, the experience at this particular location was the complete opposite. The issue wasn't the policy, it was the manager's attitude, lack of clear communication, and unwillingness to simply explain what was needed (which in fact wasn't needed at all)

Carolyn was incredibly responsive and they are extremely familiar with all the San Clemente downtown district rules and ordinances regarding storefront signage (and there are a lot of them to get through permitting). They were very patient with all of my indecisiveness and gave me excellent guidance. Their mock ups were great and really helped me visualize what the signage would look like. They were able to get us through permitting quickly and fabricated and installed the sign sooner than the original quoted time. And the final product.... Well I think we may have the best signage on the street!! They made us a sophisticated looking building sign and an awesome blade sign custom designed off of a drawing of one of our Alexander Daas eyeglasses designs. This cute little shop only charges .22 cents a copy and has a very convenient email-pick up option that makes not owning a personal printer a no brainer! So worth it! I live near the village so often times I'll email my print request over to the shop and by the time I get there, it's already down and waiting for me. I'm usually printing pre-paid USPS labels for shipping items so I often use the little desk set up inside to apply my label to packages and then walk them over to the USPS on Forest. On busier days (or during covid) I had to wait outside but it really is not a place people hang out for a long time so you're never waiting long. This location is right across from Bank of America (on the east side) so using their lot for parking can be helpful too. Sometimes I see stacks of menus from the local restaurants or big signage waiting to be picked up too so you know this is a well-engrained local print shop and I'm happy to bring them my little print jobs as well.

Do not do business here there are better UPS stores in San Clemente that are clean and professional and don't lose your packages. This was a signature required package.
