I would give a higher review, but the lady at the till is a bit scary.
I tend to be one of the younger clients of this establishment, with most of the ladies (rarely see a gent) being of the elderly sort. I am no spring chicken, mind you, but I'm a young whipper snapper compared to some of the clientele.
The supplies are good, though the selection of crochet accessories is rather woeful, with the vast majority catering towards the home knitter. And there are usually some yarns which are on sale. Having come from North America I am used to yarn being much cheaper - with lines such as Red Heart, Lion & Bernat. I am aware that these yarns are not readily available in the UK, but I suspect that there is still this mentality that knitting/crochet should be only with expensive yarns.
I would like this shop, and others, to carry some cheaper acrylic yarns - not everything needs to be made of alpaca wool handpicked by Mayan Indians in the wilds of Ecuador, sometimes cheap acrylic and/or questionable cheap welsh wool is just as good. read more
