We decided to give the place another chance after how rude staff was to us but that was a huge mistake. During the drag show the performers were touching all over patrons who clearly did NOT consent to the sexual attention, some even left after being touched by them. My partner, who is autistic, went to give a performer a tip and she shoved their face into her chest. I had to calm them down, hoping it was a one off, but then the same person did it to them again the next time they were performing. It only stopped because they stood behind me for the rest of the show. We also watched as a partner in another couple got publicly ridiculed for not being okay with the physical attention. Her partner got groped in front of the whole crowd and the performer pulled her out to the center to argue about it. This place is disgusting and we will never be back.

Where is the count health department at because they should really get that fixed. Don't wear your good shoes out because they will be ruined. Also because when just walking inside you might slip from the floor being so gross. The last time I was there a fight broke out and the guy got his nose busted. Bathrooms are clean and sometimes if you make friends with the bartender you'll get a free extra shot. You must have physical ID, 18+ is accepted. Ever watch the movie Tron? There are some areas of BCD that feel incredibly futuristic with neon-lit interiors and a legitimate sci-fi feel in some areas. The areas are ass follows: The main bar with a DJ and a spacious dance floor, the red room with a visualizer setup of big bass and pulsating lights, the gold room with a speakeasy feel and a curated cocktail menu, with the secret room that is a unique space behind a certain set of doors. Most of the music on the main bar is good, the DJs are energetic, and the bartenders are efficient while professional. It's not the easiest place to photograph anything, but the different (hidden) spaces make it a worthy destination for discovery. The one area that I don't love is that they rock automatic gratuity. I do love how diverse the crowd is on the weekends, which is a testament to the city. Drinks are solid, but the speakeasy drinks are the ones that stand out the most. Tables were placed in front of the 2 far dance floor exits and the exits by the stage have been blocked off. Management allows people with beers and open cup drinks on the dance floor and couldn't care less about what is spilled. During the Neal McCoy show, 1/3 of the dance floor was taken up by people standing and drinking. This was once an amazing dance hall, now it's just another place to charge folks high prices to listen to music.

Many a great entertainment have graced the stage of this historic building over the decades, but the present owners have turned it into an 'Austin crowd concerts venue'. The attached"but closed" restaurant may increase the 'legal occupancy count' but crowding everyone into the dance-floor with inadequate emergency exits is an obvious overcrowding situation.
