An interpreter guides you through the house and grounds. There are picnic tables and a beautiful view of surrounding hills. Wildflowers flourish on-site. We love history and with small kids spent about 2 hours including a picnic lunch and walking around to take pictures. Great place to visit for a short trip. Bring a little cash so you can leave a small donation, otherwise your visit is free. Find free postcards in the carriage house. Decent restrooms. No changing table for little people. Check the calendar- the guide said that some Saturdays they do demonstrations and in non-COVID times there are even more interactive activities, like stagecoach rides to the courthouse.

Then I waited for it to open. Then waited some more. Then some more again. Had places to go and everything said "Open 9:00am Saturdays". At 9:15, I'm wondering if the advertisements are correct and I drive off to my next planned stop. So, hopefully, you can see the place that I missed out on. I'll update this if I get a chance to visit when they say they should be opened.

Not sure who everyone in the reviews is talking about - i literally saw one employee roll their eyes at a customer on my most recent trip. It would be helpful if they had a different language option available for the ticket counter screen as I saw at least 3-5 people struggle (and it just spanish speakers). This is a college town, with lots of international students that clearly understand & speak English but may know a term in English. The best time to go is probably mid-month, early AM. Going at the end of March was super busy- long line inside and outside.

We go to this Post Office almost every Saturday and we can count on them opening real early so we can drop off our packages and get on with our day. They do close at 9am so be sure to come. Majority of the time, there is no line. This is probably the smallest Post Office that I've ever seen. I don't know how this location isn't during the weekdays. The staff are fast and friendly. The parking lot is small.

This morning I went to drop of my Christmas cards. I drove an hour and a half to this location…read morespecifically because they are open earlier. I was greeted by a wonderful older women who was happy to help me. I told her I needed to get my cards hand cancelled, but I would be happy to pay for her time or even do it myself. She proceeded with no issues until her supervisor, Christabelle Garcia heard our converstation. Christabelle told me they would be refusing to hand cancel my cards, and that all USPS locations stopped hand cancelling mail. I told her that I had been at a USPS location the day before to confirm that all I needed to ask for was hand cancelling. She told me they would not help me and my cards would be sent to Houston and mailed from there. I informed Christabelle that I was aware she was lying and she had nothing to say. After leaving the post office I filed a report against her for fraud, lying and manipulation with the USPS Inspector Generals Office. I hope they do their due diligence and fire this woman. Her behavior is disgusting and she deserves to be punished, if not fired for her nastiness. She made it clear that she was the boss and there was no way anyone would stop her from lying and treating people like garbage. I cant imagine being such a disappointment of a human being- especially with Christ in her name. She should be ashamed of herself.
