You can add extra gummies (comes in a little cup, separate) for 50cents. In addition: you can add cream, nerds, whip cream and gummies for 50cents Sour straw, caramel / fudge syrup , chili lime, lemon lime salt for 25 cents Chips, pickles, pack of sour straws ,and water for $1.00. Overall this place is pretty good, they've been around for a while and had a couple friends who worked at shimmers back in highschool. This last week I decided to go and grab a sno cone at 9:25 (35 minutes before they close) and a girl proceeds to tell me that the machine is broken after a car drives away with their sno cones in hand. No problem I get it, it's late and you're closing up early. Next day I go again and end up getting a medium lemon like. It cost 3.50 and I tip 50 cents. Shimmers is a snow cone institution in OKC. I remember them from when I was a kid, and I'm so glad as an adult it still holds up! They have a huge variety of flavors and fun combinations. I get the kiddie size, which is also the cheapest, because that's enough to satisfy my craving. We love this place. We go almost everyday after school and when ever we are on this side of town. The line is usually pretty crazy but they do their best to get everyone taken care of as fast as possible. And always with friendly service. Definitely my favorite type of sno cone. My friend and I decided to take our kids here today, I have been trying new snow cone places in Oklahoma and found that the Metro Family Magazine rated Shimmers very well. They were wrong. We walked up and I ordered 3 kiddies. Lime mixed with Georgia peach, Barbie, and Banana. There was no one in line and no one before us and we waited about 15 minutes. When they were ready, they handed me 2 of them that were wrong. Wouldn't of been thay big of a deal but the banana was bubble gum and my lime/ Georgia peach was lime/ grape. The blonde manager is the one that took my order, after I told her she took to long to mess up my order..she replied, " Our bosses just told us about party packs that needed to be filled first." Then she slammed her little sliding door. Excuse me, but you take care of your PRESENT customers first. As far as shaved ice goes, this place is pretty good. We stop here after hanging out at the pool, and it hits the spot. However, I would ask that Shimmers offer more sugar-free options. While I'm sure the full-strength versions are delicious, it's criminal to serve up those things in 24 and 32 ounce servings. Additionally, they get pretty bogged down with orders quickly. TL; DR: it's fun food, count on waiting, and watch your blood sugar. read more
