My cousin brought me here to shop and they gave her the key so she could show me things I liked in glass cases; they were so trusting and friendly. I like to put things on and walk around a bit, to see if I find something else to replace it by the time I am ready to check out, so a lot of switches happened. However, after I had chosen my treasures, I noticed I still had a ring on my finger! I would have walked out with it. They laughed, examined the ring, and actually threw it in with all the other purchases. So nice. My dad offered to pay for a more expensive set I loved, and I would pay for some smaller items myself, but when we got up to the counter he shoved everything to the salesman (habit, I guess) so I thought he was just going to pay for everything after all. Typical of him. While he was settling the bill I was asking the names of all the stones so I could write them down. They put them in boxes and we left. A few minutes later my dad asked if I had paid for the other pieces; he didn't recall shoving everything to the salesman; we checked the receipt and they had only charged us for one set, so we called my cousin. She said they had just called her because they forgot to charge us. We were horrified! I joked that I guess I was determined to steal something from them! But it's no joke, it was awful! my dad dropped us at El Rancho hotel because we wanted to look around and he went back to pay them. They were so nice, he said. A few days later, we went back to pick up my fathers' broken turquoise watch band they had fixed for him, and also were hoping to buy some bracelets for my niece since the ones she loved in Santa Fe were high priced compared to what we paid in Gallup. They invited us in to shop some more and laughed about the incident a few days earlier. They said they didn't think for a second that I had stolen it, they understood what had happened. That made me feel so much better, I would hate for them to think I would do that to them! Anyway, I hope to shop here again, their merchandise is lovely. I have not stopped wearing it and I get compliments every day. :)

But I was sold on Castle Gold and Silver last several years ago when I had a personally important watch that no one could repair: it was a solar powered watch and no one could or would touch it. I stopped in Castle G&S for new watch batteries and had this special watch with me. They looked at it and said "Sure, we can repair it." I told them to take their time and I'll pick it up next week when back in the area of town. Came back a week later and its held its time ever since. I take all my watches there now. Period. I ask him general questions only for him to rush me while he helps sell more fragile equipment to more customers buying into his charasmstic character, whom I was once until I seen the impatientence and annoyance of helping me test out my amp. I literally felt unwelcomed and devalued as a person here, if there was another guitar store in Gallup I'd recommend them than this greasy scumbag. You have the advantage when you're the only legit guitar store in a small town of hard working people who don't know what you know.

They charged me almost $80 for 2 new batteries when I got home I checked the watch and it had the two off brand name batteries I had Installed originally. Oh and I asked what brand battery they used and it was not what was Installed but the ones I had I stalled. I had also taken pics of before and after photos as i do with all my stuff. Scammed me! Despite me being young and having a relatively unexciting and inexpensive request I was still met with respect and attention which I really appreciated. Lonnie himself helped me with my pieces.
