They have a special recipe where they can replace the normally glutinous products with non-glutenous products without affecting the taste... how good is that? Your guts will thank you for it. They have a wide range of sushi's and sashimi's and they also have the seaweed salad's by themselves if you like the seaweed, I do! The prices are the average fair about $2.30-$2.50 per sushi roll and they usually have a seating area as well so you can sit down and eat what you order. You can tell them to cut up the rolls and they will put them on a fancy plate so you can go to the seated area to eat your sushi... and they do a variety of sushi platters for parties and functions. Very versatile little sucker this one. My son likes the Tempura Prawn and Fried Chicken sushi rolls.

The sushi is delicious, the workers are always smiling and polite, and the prices are great. They have a great range, including little containers with sashimi and mixed sushi boxes. My friend is a vegetarian (and a picky one at that), so when she asked if she could have a vegetarian version made up for her, they complied without any sort of fuss like we had expected. The seating area is small, but considering it's in a shopping centre, it's surprisingly comfortable and relatively quiet. When I don't have my daughter (who sadly isn't a fan of sushi) I come here quite often.

At least, ever since the Sushi Station and Egawa disappeared off the brink of Jindalee (owned by…read morethe same people) the people of centenary have long yearned for a good japanese place to get food. Sushi 79 recently opened its doors (November 2011) and it's a little shop with 2 small tables run by 3 friends who live in Richlands who have never owned a Japanese Restaurant before. They are Japanese for starters I thought this can't be bad. They cook everything fresh! They sauce everything authentic and when the food is ready (it's a 2 man kitchen so sometimes you will be waiting a while for your food) it tastes every bit authentic as if you were to go to a Japanese Restaurant in the city. The Yakisoba was really delightful, the vegies were cut delicately just like it should be, the sauce was not overpowering and the noodles were pretty cooked to perfection. The chicken was pre-marinated so tasted super good and it was so yummy my son and I finished it really quick. They also have seaweed, edamame, kyoza (gyoza?) and everything is spelt out for you on the board on the left when you enter. The prices for the entrees are really reasonable starting at $3 for the edamame. Along with the freshly made sushi, they have cool bento boxes as well with beef gyudon and chicken katsu, comes with a miso soup, salad and some dumplings with rice. Great value at $9-$11 depending on which one you want. It would be an idea to pre-order over the phone before you came here for food as they are only 2 men in a big kitchen and still nutting out what it is to handle a semi-busy crowd. I'm a big fan of this place, at last, some yummy Japanese in Jindalee! We've been waiting for a long time.

Most will come from the gym for a healthy quick snack. I tried the chicken katsu bento box which is excellent value for $12. Unfortunately my chicken was fried to a crisp (may have been an accident?!). Still I enjoyed the meal which was enough to satisfy me. I liked the addition of dumplings which really made this meal worth every dollar. The miso soup was tasty and included wakame and tofu as all miso soup should. My boyfriend slurped down a piping hot chicken udon which also had a miso soup base. For this reason it made it a bit bland and underwhelming. The soup was topped with flakes of seafood sticks and little fishball shapes. At $10 I sort of expected a bigger bowl too. Recommend a skip next time. I'm curious to try their ramen next time as well as their takoyaki.

We made evening reservations and our table was the best one in the restaurant. Our table overlooked the river and we had a gorgeous view of the Story Bridge. Our host and waiter, Ming was super friendly and welcomed us. We started off with miso soup which was nice and warmed us up on a cool winter evening. The miso soup had tofu, seaweed, and spring onions. Then, we had a starter dish of seared salmon and scallops while we wanted for our large platter. The salmon and scallops were incredible. The salmon was fresh and melted in my mouth. I am a big fan of scallops and loved the taste combined with the salmon. I wish we would have ordered a few more plates of the dish... We waited for our large platter that showcased several rolls such as the fresh salmon, tempura fish, and fried crab sticks. The unagi (eel) roll was nice but could have had a little more eel sauce. Then, the tempura prawn roll and spicy salmon with avocado were tasty too. The salmon was not spicy though. I enjoyed the sushi thoroughly and didn't way to stop. No one at the table did. Four of gals who love sushi shared the large platter. It's a good amount if you are not all starving. I recommend this place. I've heard they are super busy for lunch so opting for dinner was a wise choice. We felt comfortable and in no rush to finish our meal. I can't wait to go back and try out more dishes! They have only opened for a few months so I am so lucky I knew from early on so now I can satisfy my sushi craving. Best part of it all, I heard about this place through word of mouth! Hope you have a great experience like me when you go.
