Barbara gently yet assertively guides the sessions to help each person feel heard, seen and understood. She uses somatic and mindfulness-based techniques and has a deeper wisdom that is palpable. Her approach is far more effective than just 'talking about' issues and trying to shift them from a cognitive place, which I find so painfully limited, it is more relational, experiential and touches in to the core of things. I am very discerning when it comes to therapists, as I am one myself, and we even tried working with someone else who said they specialized in mother-daughter work, but after 2 sessions we chose not to work with her and continue looking. I'm so glad we did, as I loved working with Barbara and I will seek out her support again in the future.

This time I decided I needed to address the real issues around my eating habits. Instead of looking for a quick fix, I wanted to get to the core of my unhealthy choices. I met with Jo for four sessions over a two month period. In the first month, I noticed a real change in my attitude towards food. I am down 7 lb. I'm looking at food in a new and refreshing way, looking forward to meal preparation and selecting the right foods for my body. I'm also motivated to get up in the morning and do my exercise routine. My partner has also noticed a real change - my obsession with food has diminished and my anxiety has also gone way down. I see this as part of my life journey, to make the best choices for my health. My therapist is still in graduate school, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but they're honestly amazing--super skilled, kind, and really easy to talk to. You'd never guess they're still in training because they seem so experienced. Before coming here, I had some bad experiences with other therapists--canceling sessions all the time and even one who just straight-up didn't show up. It was super frustrating and made me feel like my time didn't matter. That's never been an issue here. My therapist is reliable, consistent, and always makes me feel like a priority. The clinic is also just a really welcoming and comfortable place. You can tell they care about what they're doing, and it shows in the quality of the people. If you're looking for good therapy that's affordable and dependable, this is definitely the place to go! Also for me the office has a great feel, the energy is just magic.

I chose Neurofeedback to help myself move beyond a background of abuse, and to address two serious brain injuries from my youth. Early into the program I began to notice an overall more positive attitude emerging, as well a notable increase in my resilience to stress. Every session felt like it was building on the last, and throughout the 10 weeks, even though negative patterns sporadically surfaced, I continued to realize steady improvement in daily life. Gail Hardman-Woung, the clinic founder and director, and her amazing staff are professional, heart-centered, skilled, and conscientious. They maintain a clinic environment that is attractive and welcoming for their clientele. The Neurofeedback "LENS" sessions with Gail were especially enjoyable. Her knowledge and expertise was ever-reassuring. I appreciated that she took the time to show and explain the "brain-mapping" graph on the computer during our sessions so I could observe the healing progress in brain patterns each time. Upon completion of the program, I left feeling significantly more confident, clear, and grounded in myself, ready for a new direction and journey ahead. I am deeply grateful for the healing I received, and am pleased to highly recommend The Path Clinic and all they have to offer.
