One of my first meetings with Dr. Bercot, he pointed out the positives of the situation I was dealing with - which often times are overlooked and people focus solely on the negatives. He is wonderful at monitoring subtle changes over time and is incredibly warm and reassuring. Popkin is extremely careful in following progress after making a precise diagnosis. He understands the roles and limitations of all pharmaceuticals and importantly, has a very broad understanding of internal medicine so he can rule out non-psychiatric causes of behavior or mental change. My wife can't believe how he has improved our relationship with his steady approach. He literally has improved my outlook and my enjoyment of life dramatically....and certainly my marriage. Rather, he cares about his money and his time. He is, in my opinion from my decade long experience of being his patient, greedy and unhelpful. When trying to answer questions about specific medications, he needs to open a book and read about it during our 30 minute sessions when I could always just read about it on my own time and not have to spend an exorbitant amount of money for minutes of his time. He is also constantly late to appointments. I do not suggest having Dr. Popkin as a psychiatrist whatsoever to anyone. Don't waste your money.

He's been a godsend in seeking the right treatments and medications for our son who has suffered significantly from ADHD and Bipolar Disorder since the age of four. His current success as a well-adjusted college student now is nothing short of miraculous. We've seen other special needs children suffer by not getting proper and/or quality medical attention, and they're much further behind. Also, our daughter suffered chronic fatigue during her high school years and could barely manage her symptoms of a disorder that has no cure. Dr. Henderson's research and therapeutic pioneering brought about a markedly suppressive therapy for her debilitating condition. As an adult wife and mother now, she leads a much better quality of life. Another family member who suffered long-term, medication-resistant depression underwent Ketamine infusion therapy with Dr. Henderson at his Neuro-Luminance clinic. She experienced immediate and lasting results after two procedures and is feeling better than she has in years. This family's advice to you is this: if you're truly serious about getting well, are in-tune with your symptoms & behaviors, and are able to articulate them to your psychiatrist, you will yield far better results and more directly impact your mental health success.
